  1. I LOVE Luke!!! He has been my groomer and my friend since he opened the first location.
  2. Unfortunately, even facts won't convince people. Propaganda and half truths are the king because people always need something to gripe about, added to the fact that they will have to part with their pennies. It's amazing to me that such a miniscule amount from one can add up so fast for the greater good and people are still opposed. Ultimately, when these proposed changes and improvements are unavoidable and the tax isn't passed, the funds will still come from taxpayers, but at a much higher cost. The 'it won't benefit me, so I'm voting no', attitude is unbelievable to me. We didn't g
  3. It's a Living Social deal, same thing as Groupon, for a place called White Water Express in Copperhill, TN. Hubby has done it before with this company and he loved it, so hopefully all will go well. Personally, I'm NOT looking forward to it because I'm the absolute least adventurous person on the planet. But, he wants to go and Heaven knows I've dragged him to enough places and he doesn't complain. And who knows.......maybe I'll love it!
  4. Hubbys 50th bday is on the 24th and for his big present we're going white water rafting, but I still wanted to get something to open. 5th grader picked out golf club covers that look like tiny camo military boonie hats and they really are cute. Well, yesterday Hubby and I were talking about presents and I said,'5th grader bought you something small' and off the top of his head Hubby asked said 5th grader, 'Hey, what did ya' buy me for my birthday'? What did he answer? 'Golf club head covers'. WHAT?! '5th grader, you just told dad what his present was', 'Well, I didn't tell him what they looke
  5. But, when you come on a chat board and the end of your vent ask the question, 'So, WTH just happened'? verbatim, then you have set yourself up for the opinions that you were given. If those opinions weren't what you were looking for or what you wanted, then you should never have asked for them. Venting about a situation is one thing and may not call for an opinion, but when you specifically ask a question and it's answered, you need to be prepared for whatever those answers are or next time, keep the questions to yourself.
  6. I'm glad you went here and I didn't have to go out on this branch all alone. What the mom did was just plain mean. I'd give either of my girls the shoes off my feet if they wanted them bad enough and I sure as heck fire wouldn't snatch their shoes out of their hand if they had found them first. Who does that? And then to boot, won't buy them because Y-O-U didn't make the decision as to who would get them? Is your wife somehow younger than your daughter? Her behavior sure makes her seem so.
  7. Are there consequences for slanderous calls and sending lies through the US mail to try to get yourself elected? Is this not against some kind of law? And what kind of TRUE D-U-M-B-A-$-$ thinks that these tactics will endear him to anyone? Seriously? Are politicians REALLY that stupid? Never mind. Yes they are.
  8. There is a farmers market on Saturday mornings in the old courthouse parking lot in Dallas. I have seen fresh bread and other baked goods and I'll bet none of those people have a commercial kitchen. Maybe the requirements are different in a farmers market setting as opposed to a store. I'd check it out, set up a stand and let customers sample your wares, you never know where that could go. Good luck!
  9. Who is it? Am I missing something?
  10. Nobody's gettin' my baby gates!!!
  11. Prayers and good wishes sent. This should never happen.
  12. If parents were watching their kids, I'll bet this wouldn't be such an issue. Kids didn't seem to be devouring the dishwasher pads that look exactly the same way. Kids can get poisoned by anything if they are left to their own devices and if I were the detergent companies, I wouldn't change a thing. For goodness sake people, WATCH YOUR KIDS!!
  13. I just saw on WSB that an 8 year old girl was killed on I-20 west bound at MKL this afternoon when the transmission of an 18 wheeler broke apart and sent debris through the windshield and struck her in the backseat of her mothers car. I can't even imagine! We had just passed that same spot 2 hours before. My Lord!
  14. Seriously, if he needs anything else please let me know, I've still got the pattern and we know where the fabric is.
  15. I was stuck on Thornton rd in this terrible mess trying to get to I-20. It took an hour and 10 minutes to get from Maxim Rd to the expressway. But when I saw what was going on as I was getting on the ramp, I was thankful that I had just had to wait in traffic and that me or no one I loved was involved. I was late for my appt., but in the grand scheme of things, who cares?
  16. You're very welcome!! You're sweet! How is Tommy? You'd be surprised at how often we think of him. Thank you!
  17. I agree. I've been taking cardio kickboxing for almost 3 months, 3 times a week, 1 hr and 15 min per session and I haven't lost a pound. I do have new muscles in my arms and legs I didn't even know I had. But I don't want muscles, I want less fat. Go figure!
  18. I don't remember this, but I like her even less now. This is odd because commercials normally have NO impact on me whatsoever. But for some reason, she has hit the wrong nerve and I can't stand her. Weird!!
  19. Nope, it's some gal named Bre'ly. SERIOUSLY? 'Meet Bre'ly on the red carpet in Hollywood'. Well, maybe if I knew who she was and she wasn't the most annoying person I've seen on TV in a while, I just might. I think the apostrophe in her name doesn't help her cause, it's dumb. But that's just me.
  20. .........she is REALLY ANNOYING! Bre'ly?!?!?!?! Are we supposed to know who she is and what she does?
  21. Honestly, the way the economy has effected us, is by needing to help family members that have been hammered by job loss or illness. Thankfully, Hubbys job has remained the same, he's gotten raises and we have ins. We still travel and everywhere where we go, there is no shortage of other travelers. We pay cash for everything and we have tried to keep all our money in savings and use what we have and the extras come from Hubbys overtime. I swear, if we hadn't have had to help family weather the bed economy, we could have gone around the world..................twice! But. that's just what you
  22. Don't care, he had more money that any one person should be able to spend in a lifetime, but he spent it on idiotic things like a 109 room mansion. REALLY?! He pi$$ed away what he had living a little too high in the hog. I have no compassion for people like that.
