  1. OH! Well, I just saw it today on the news. Sounds like they were re-running the story because of the water shortage. OK.
  2. I can't believe this hasn't been on here. I saw the news (Ch. 2) this morning. They were covering a house fire. Anybody know anything about it?
  3. Gertie: I don't think anybody knows. It seems everyone is more interested in debating the intersection topic. I'd like to know how the folks are as well. I live 3 houses up from that intersection. In fact, my hubby and son heard the one on Thanksgiving Day. Clarks got there almost immediately. Not sure about the December accident. I hope your brother was wrong about dialing emergency 3 times! That's ridiculous!
  4. One would wear a three-piece suit. One would furnish one's bedroom with a three-piece bedroom suite (pronounced suit).
  5. I have a 2000 Dodge Grand Caravan. Has 160,000+ miles on it. When it hit 100,000 miles, the transmission went bad. Just wouldn't shift. Left me stranded in Lithia Springs until Hubby could get there. No big deal really. Cost us about $2,500 to fix. No problems with the car until this year. Back in May, the check engine light went on and stayed on. Didn't get it fixed until October when we had to have it inspected. Cost us $700 for a new Computer. Okay. Now it has a new computer and new transmission. I'm told if I take care of the fluids, etc. it will run forever. I love my van. No c
  6. Paulding County has a zero-tolerance for bullying. I know this because our son was bullied in middle school and the child was suspended for a week because of it. Our son was luckily not physically assaulted. We stopped it before it got to that point. However, with such a rule in place, these kids know their restrictions. This child in the video was not merely pushed, or shoved, or "bullied". He was assaulted. One might even go as far as attempted murder. The assailants should be expelled. Permanently. The looky-loos should be suspended. The victim will need physical and psychological treatment
  7. Okay. I've been seeing these little dots under my avatar. Everybody has them. Some have more than others. I hovered my cursor over them, and they say "pip". What's a PIP??
  8. Don't be mad. Sometimes old folks really think that 50 cents is alot of money.
  9. I DO TOO! PM me if you need something.
  10. A server should be tipped strictly on his/her service. If that person completely ignored me, the guest, after taking my order or was too long in getting to my table, or whatever, then it shows up in their tip. I NEVER leave without leaving some kind of a tip. It doesn't matter what freakin' day of the week it is. If I'm in restaurant at midnight on Christmas Eve, I expect good service. If I don't get it, it shows up in the tip - but he/she gets a tip. And because it's a holiday, or maybe the server's first day, or the server's birthday (sometimes they make all of that known), I tip extra
  11. YAAAAYYYYYYY, EARLENE!!!!!!!!!
  12. Yep, you're right. It's convenient. But it's still spelled wrong in the banner.
  13. Either way, it's spelled wrong. They have convienient. There's only one I in either word.
  14. LPPT: In the banner for Amy's Flowers & Gifts, convenience is spelled incorrectly. Sorry, but usually spelling and grammar errors just look huge to me!
  15. My brother's birthday is coming up in November. That's when I feel him the strongest. He died the night our oldest son was born. I have a stronger relationship with our oldest because of that. I know I shouldn't but I can't help it. Last year I stood outside, looked up at the stars, and talked to him for about 15 minutes. I believe he is with me all the time. And sometimes I actually feel him around me. I love that!
  16. I cannot even begin to know what you are feeling. I can tell you my parents lost their son (my brother) a long time ago in a car accident. I know that they just had to take one day at a time. Every morning you will think of him and every night you say goodnight to him. I know that when I lost my brother, my arms ached. Even though he was 17 and living in Pennsylvania and I was married with children and living in Georgia. My arms ached. I just felt such loss. I realized then the meaning of "keening". I just sat in the floor, hugged myself, and cried. Don't be afraid to cry. Don't fe
  17. And it's folks like you that take the fun out of this board. I'm done here. Monitors: If you're reading this, good. I guess I lose one or more of my Mayberrys. But I won't tolerate unwarranted insolence.
  18. But, no one has answered my original question???!!!!! When will it be fixed? Surely somebody in the county offices is on here and can answer the question.
  19. In other words, I was wrong about the county having money invested. So, okay. It's still money wasted if it doesn't EVER get repaired. Maybe the county and PATH are trying to decide who pays for repair? I figure if the county cops or city cops are policing the area, then the county should pick up the tab, as well as the city. Probably the city would have a smaller portion since they are smaller, but it should be fixed.
  20. Actually, that part of the email was correct. My hubby rides the trail alot. And the last time he was down there, the sheriff's office was ticketing some folks for wandering past the blockade. No one is allowed back there on bikes or on foot. It's too dangerous. Hubby went very early on just after it stopped raining. He said it was a real mess back there. But I don't know if CJ812 got a ticket or not!
  21. SNAP!! I don't think I said either way that the trail is more important than anything else. I was just wondering. The county spent alot of money building the trail. I would think that they would want to fix it eventually. That's why I asked if anyone knew if it would be closed permanently. And, I don't see why the roads and bridges couldn't be fixed as well.
