  1. Like most other people, I will send things electronically now just out of convenience. I was tardy to the party--it has just been in the last two months that I have gone completely digital on my bill pay, and even still, there are a few that I will send USPS--like my car payment that will be paid off in the next two months, and I see no reason to sign something so short-term up for auto-pay. And, I will still send cards by USPS. BUT...I don't need six-day service. I'm good if they go back to a minimal schedule. While I do feel for those who have an investment in the USPS, I also h
  2. Thanks, hon. It's all good. We'd have nothing to discuss if we all agreed on everything, right?
  3. Beautiful. My husband is my heart. I could only hope for either of us that one would not have to be long without the other. We're like two sides of the same coin, and I could not imagine a world that didn't have him in it. I hope we both have the blessing to live as long together as these two lovers did, and it would be a great gift if we could have that much time AND leave this life together.
  4. Thank you for watching and responding, mrnn! I appreciate it! I think the point he was getting at is exactly what you mentioned in your response--that we all remember dissecting that frog. But WHY? I think what he was trying to say is that we would remember that because it engaged almost ALL of our faculties. We had sight, touch, sound, and smell. And it is that integration that makes learning that STICKS. If we can see it and feel it and hear it, we can remember it. It also touches on the idea of learning through creating knowledge rather than just being an empty cup someone feels
  5. If you have a translation of that last paragraph, would you PM it to me? I was all after I read it.
  6. I never abused the +/- system. Not that I need to defend that--they're all available for viewing now! But just to say--I only used them to express an opinion, even if sometimes that opinion was that someone was unreasonably given a negative. I have almost certainly given more + than - since the system was started. But I never just ran around giving negatives to people I generally disagree with. Unfortunately, I think many did, which is why I, for one, am glad that anonymity is gone now. People too often used it in punitive ways, not because they disagreed with the particular comment, but
  7. I was hoping maybe this would generate discussion. Lots of people have looked. Has anyone watched the video?
  8. I gave your post a +. Not that I needed to tell you or anything.
  9. I just gave you a +...though I fail to see how this diminishes anyone's freedom of speech? I didn't see anything in what you said that would warrant a bullet OR a negative. But as I said, how would losing the ability to "comment" by giving someone a mark, negative or positive, limit anyone's "freedom of speech"? We're all as free as we were before; the only thing removed is the anonymity. I like it.
  10. Psst...it works historically, too. Wonder who gave you all those negatives? Does it seem as if someone has followed you around, giving negatives to every post you make? GUESS WHAT?!? Go look. You can see who's been following you around. I just spent about 10 minutes looking, and it was very instructive. I LOVE that people can no longer go around anonymously handing out "bad" marks. And? You can see all the pluses, too. Very enlightening.
  11. It is delightful. Please watch it. It talks about many things, including the ADHD epidemic and the effects of standardized testing on the whole education system. It's almost 12 minutes long, but it goes by quickly, and it REALLY is worth watching. I promise. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zDZFcDGpL4U If you decide to watch it, post your thoughts here? Thanks!
  12. Did you just show me the door? No, I am not above speculation. Not in any way. And I suppose there is no harm in speculation, but there are people posting who have CONCLUDED that the mom is guilty. She may be. I have never said otherwise. However, what I have said is that if it was a clear as everyone seems to want to make it based on what little they know, I seriously doubt mom would still be walking around giving incriminating interviews whenever she's asked. I find it sick that they've retained an attorney who represented a known murderer. I find it sick that she was seemingly pass
  13. Just because we, the armchair gumshoes and the voracious media don't know these answers doesn't mean that the questions haven't been asked and answers aren't on record. We really have no right to know, and neither does the media, without whom, this case would be just ONE of the hundreds that occurred the same week this little girl went missing. My point being--we are in no position to draw any conclusions about Lisa, her parents, her siblings, or what the police have or haven't done. I hope this has a good ending. I don't know enough to know what the likelihood is that it will, but
  14. Yeah, but...that was all so fake and staged. Everyone knew Melanie was one of the best--that's why she was the last performer on the last night. TOTALLY faked. She should have never been sent packing. I just hope they didn't really play with her emotions like that. THAT would be so inexcusable. I am irritated.
  15. WHAT? He put Tia through but struck Melanie? Oh, he is DESPICABLE. I hope they have a save or something. Melanie was one of the best.
  16. STACY MADE IT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! :yahoo: :yahoo: I AM SO PLEASED!!! Stacy has an awesome voice!
  17. How many women have made it through so far? It's just Drew and Tia, right? I hope Stacy and Melanie make it through. Oh wait...Stacy is in the "over 30" crowd. I do hope both of them make it. They both should! Melanie CERTAINLY will. She's my equal favorite to Chris. And Drew. Those three, if they perform well, will be on the short list at the end, I think.
  18. Simon put Tia through?!?! He's SUCH a PUTZ!! She was horrid in her judges performance. She'll be one of the first OUT in the live show. She's got the "look," but not the voice. Such a disappointing choice! PUTZ!
  19. CHRIS MADE IT THROUGH!!!!!!!!!! :yahoo:
  20. Who knows? I'm guessing the police do. I sure don't.
