DallasRed replied to Thoughts from the Evil Galaxy's topic in RECENT TOPICS
They were saying on TV yesterday that the person probably had a hearing aid. They were really large back in 1928. -
What time does it come on? I was trying to watch it and Raising Grace was on. Now that was pretty funny.

WTH? MORTGAGE INTEREST TAX DEDUCTION TAKEN AWAY
DallasRed replied to lowrider's topic in RECENT TOPICS
That is already happening in MD...Millionaire tax so they are going to live in nearby VA. http://weblogs.baltimoresun.com/business/hancock/blog/2009/05/why_are_millionaires_fleeing_m.html " 2nd Most Millionaires: Maryland There may be nearly 150,000 millionaire households in this state, but that number will definitely go down in the next year. As we mentioned earlier, Maryland pioneered a millionaire tax back in 2008, and as a result, many of its richer citizens seem to have fled to states like Virginia. According to the Wall Street Journal, between 2008 and 2009, the number of "m -

WTH? MORTGAGE INTEREST TAX DEDUCTION TAKEN AWAY
DallasRed replied to lowrider's topic in RECENT TOPICS
If you are talking about my post..25 years so far is more like it..And I am no where close to retirement age. 50 years total before you can get SS that sounds about right...I'm guessing the kids of today will have to wait till age 70+ before they can receive it. I do love how the state of GA wants to tax military pensions unlike other states but that is another TOPIC right there. I was reading that, they were saying it will be gone just a few years before I am due to retire. And guess what I missed being a Baby BOOMER by just a few years. -

Don't know about you but I am tired of bending over. The locals around here get mad because Military buy houses with tax free money (allowance) so they get the mortgage paid for tax free and then take the tax write-off on the interest. -
How Exciting! Congrats!!!!!!!!!!!!

That happend to us too a few weeks ago. And I am out of state. I guess that is the HOT thing to do this year. The kids had fun going and BOO'ing another neighbor.

I guess I need to count my blessings. I stopped working for 10 years and I get paid more at my current job than when I left my old one. Good luck to all who are looking for work and hang in there.

Thanks...I was told 1K per tooth..So I guess it is pretty standard no matter what part of the country you are in. Most will be out of pocket..1200 a year won't cover much. A dentist that close to home. I'll have to remember that when I get back to GA.

I know my RENT is to darn high

If you are getting handouts, why cant they control what you get? If you go out and buy it yourself you can feed your kids potatoes all day if you want to and they will eat it. My whole point about the potatoes is that they are considered a starch and not a veggie. Just like corn and peas..Better choices are out there if you are buying a vegetable.

Just curious, What is the average price of crowns and veneers? And what is the going rate in GA for having two wisdom teeth removed? I am so tired of the high prices in MD

IMO I will never use a front loading washing machine again..The water was recycled and it made my clothes STINK. I am so glad to be using my top loading washing machine again and to get fresh smelling clothes. Good luck!

I never said anything about eating a cookie between meals. OK whatever you'all say I give up..When you start tracking your blood sugar get back with me. Candy cookie "Low-glycemic foods that can help lower blood sugar levels include high fiber fruits, oatmeal, peanuts, beans, peas, and granola. High-glycemic foods include potatoes, rice, and white bread. Research has shown that potatoes and white bread are converted extremely quickly by the body into glucose. In fact, they are converted more quickly than a candy bar would be." http://www.wisegeek.com/how-can-i-lower-my-blood-suga

Potatoes are good for you as long as you prepare them in a healthy manner. Boiled and baked potatoes are good for you, French fries and potato chips are not. "Potatoes got a bad reputation due to the popularity of low-carb diets because they are high in starchy carbohydrates and low in protein. That doesn't mean that potatoes are bad for you, though." I never said anything about a low carb diet. I just noted how it raises your blood sugar more than pure sugar does. I remember when I was a Diabetic while pregnant. My sugar would go up more after eating a steak and baked potato tha
