I read about this in an earlier post but am unable to find it. I need some enlightment on this proposed change.
http://www.legis.state.ga.us/legis/2007_08...ltext/hb187.htm
Does this mean that on the initial building of a new school, the county or builders would still be responsible for roads, bridges and services? In the change to the law it says "improvements" would be paid for by the BOE.
.
One of the reasons I could see why the school would need to "improve" the roads , bridges and services would be because of the added enrollment caused by the approval of more housing and sub divisions by the BOC. So why shouldn't the county or builders share the expense along with the BOE for the improvements to meet the needs of the children?
I am sorry the title should be HB 187

Have you made sure that your damper is fully closed?

a bowl of cheerios /corn flakes and coffee. I got into the habit of mixing cereals because as a child and youngest of 5 boys, by the time I got breakfast there may be only a little bit in each box. So I would pour whatever into a bowl for breakfast. Still doing it at 64.

Another caution: I am a self doer and when my dryer stopped heating after about five years, I decided to see what makes it tick. I stripped it down to nuts, bolta and panels. One of the two heating coils had broken. What scared me was that some lint had got around the shield that surrounds the heating coil and it was charred. Could have possibly had a fire in the near future.
.
So now every three to four years, I take it outside, strip it down, vacuum, check seals and replace the heating elements. I bought this dryer in 1971

I put the eggs in a pan of cold water. When the water starts boiling, i give them 10 minutes. Take off stove and pour cold water over them until they are cool enough to handle. I then smack them on the edge of the sink on their large end where there is an air bubble. Then roll them in my hand to to loosen the film inside and the shell just slides off.

I Just seen a story on WSB-TV concerning people speeding through a subdivision in Bartow County.
.
A concerned parent who constantly had people speeding by his house decided to do something. He bought a radar gun and 3 cameras. He started filming them and started sending pictures to the Bartow Sheriff's office. One of the habitual speeders was a Kennesaw police car. Never with lights or siren on. He sent several letters w/pictures to the kennesaw
police concerning this officer.
.
This week he gets a knock on his door, it is a Bartow county Deputy with a warrant for him for "Stalking" this police officer? He goes to court next week.
.
Your thoughts?
.
I do hope he has the calibration sticker for his radar gun.

I remember when I moved here I worked in Marietta and came out 2 lane hwy 120 to Dallas. By the time I got to the corner of 120 and bus. 6. I would practically be the only car on the road.

Is any close family member a member of the American Legion? We held my grandaughter's wedding and reception at the legion on Scoggins road. Very reasonable.

While in the USMC, lived in base housing at Camp Pendleton on the west side. As the crow flies about 1/4 mile from the beach. Cool breeze during summer. Cool in winter but not cold. What I liked was could be at beach in the morning and at Big Bear in the afternoon in the snow.
Honestly I am a Iowa farm boy and like my four seasons.

Since they have done away with smoking area in resaurants, I have suggested to managers of places I frequent, why they do not make this area "no child under 14 allowed "area. Hopefully by 14 most children have learned some social manners. I get a smile and "I'll think about it."

A pig in the road can give you a ride you won't forget. As a young lad in Iowa in the fifties, I was riding with a friend in his 56 Chev. convertible. We came upon about a 250-300 hog in the road one night. We were going about 50 mph, unable to stop. we hit the pig, it went under the car and we flew about 20 feet in the air.
.
Forgot to mention. the hog got up and ran back into the field.

I can say with a surety that you will be turned down the first go-round. You might as well start looking for an attorney now. Went through this with my wife.

claustrophobia. When i had prostrate cancer, they tried to put me in one of those old circular MRI's. I told them no, I guess I am going to just die before I will go in that damn thing. They found an open MRI to send me to.

I feel like I am in a time warp and have went back 50 years. After what has been going on today on this site, it
reminded me of my kids when they were small. "she started it." " No i did not say that" "thats mine" "You like him more than me" "I never get to do ___________", etc. It sounds like my family and lets face it, we are a family here on Paulding.com.
.
So now I believe it is time for you all to go to your rooms for a little time out. Grumps has to take his nap.

I have owned 5 F150s since 1980. The job i had required a lot of driving. The least miles I had on any one of them when i sold them was 139,000 miles and the most was 284,000. The only maintenance I had on them was normal wear and tear. But i did change oil every 2500-3000 miles. Put a can of chem-tool in the gas tank about every 35,000 miles to clean the injectors. About every 10th oil change , put in a quart of Rislone (high detergent lubricant) in to clean the engine.
