  1. Even if he was committing the crime of shoplifting, that is not a reason for him to die. Someone acted with force not be commensurable with the crime and, I seriously doubt, that proper procedures were followed. Yes, Wal Mart will pay handsomely over this.
  2. I don't know of any women that would say an arse grab is not sexual in nature. Again, there needs to be a re-write of the laws on this.
  3. Awful news. Tragedy. Peace and blessings to his family and loved ones.
  4. So glad you're home! Do exactly as the physician says and take all items from the apothecary exactly as you're told. Blessings to you!
  5. A Palestinian was killed by Israeli troops after a group of Palestinians refused to stop approaching a damaged jeep along the border. Israel reports firing several warning shots before killing the Palestinian. Israel also said there are incidents of unrest along the border. Senseless killing on both sides. Give up the hate. Let's make things better for everyone. My link
  6. Must everything become political? Moderators, please move to its proper forum.
  7. Jumbo has a mayor but no constituency. My link
  8. President Obama this week issued the official Presidential Proclamation 2012 setting today as a National Day of Thanksgiving. The proclamation reads in part: When President George Washington marked our democracy's first Thanksgiving, he prayed to our Creator for peace, union, and plenty through the trials that would surely come. And when our Nation was torn by bitterness and civil war, President Abraham Lincoln reminded us that we were, at heart, one Nation, sharing a bond as Americans that could bend but would not break.... On Thanksgiving Day, individuals from all walks of life
  9. Fog is being blamed for a 100 vehicle accident on a Texas motorway, I-10, near Houston. Two people were killed. Condolences for all involved. My link
  10. An island off the coast of Australia, on all the maps, just isn't there. Where it went and how it got on the maps is not exactly known, but it is not there now. My link
  11. My honest opinion is that there is SOMETHING out there that does this sort of stuff and I can't explain it, don't understand it, and can't define it. That is not to say it isn't real. But my PERSONAL OPINION is that the REAL STUFF requires much more than this to give some sort of Official Stamp of Approval. I mean, I'm looking for Old Testament prophets, plagues and earthquakes sort of stuff.
  12. Not any more. My husband booked T-Day at a Atlanta Grill. Not that I minded. The cost was worth the non-effort. And the sommelier that recommended the 2009 Ribbon Springs Pinoit Noir My link is my newest and bestest best friend for life! You are so right, though. It isn't the holiday like it once was in America. It is more vulgar, i.e., more common and ordinary.
  13. Exactly. The point of the article was that it is becoming more and more common for the day to be less about time off, religion, or anything else, but it is becoming more PERSONAL and singular to many individuals. Thank you!
  14. Yes, I've noticed how the dictionary tends to be ignored. Why is that? Have a good Thanksgiving Day. Here's to hoping you and yours have a great T-Day!
  15. Come on. I was referring to the continued making the day more ordinary. I'm really sorry if you have a problem with the definition of words but get real. THAT is what the article spoke about.
  16. Well, yes. Canada also recognises it. I was simply referring to the American tradition. America is not the only nation on the planet. Canada does recognise an official day differently than America.
  17. No. I'm saying the American Thanksgiving Day tradition is becoming more ordinary and is, in many ways, just like any other day to many people.
  18. The sommelier recommended a Ribbon Springs 2009 Pinot Noir with dinner. OMG! What a WONDERFUL wine for dinner!!! Adelsheim is my favorite vineyard anyway so when it was recommended with dinner today, I almost couldn't stand it! My link
  19. Several strange weather events will mean of shortage of the most wonderful grapes in the world and, therefore, a shortage of burgundy wine. My link
  20. I do appreciate the criticism but I assure you the comments about the broader picture of actions relating to employment are not uninformed at all. It is what I deal with on a daily basis.
  21. Vulgar in the sense it is more ordinary. That is the proper definition and use of the term.
