That is not the same thing as this is talking about. I know many that can't do the research themselves. I know even more who think they have it all planned out but don't and have no clue what they are doing. They have "researched" it but have no clue.

Executions Down in 2010 Due to Cost and Lack of Drug
zoocrew replied to zoocrew's topic in RECENT TOPICS
I would have to assume you haven't been reading or getting any news in the last two decades. I'm not exaggerating. Here is one link. We know that DNA evidence has cleared many over the years that were on death row, so we have conclude many more were not cleared but were innocent. Then there is the case of Todd Willinghamwho we know was innocent but TX executed him anyway. There is no doubt he was innocent but the TX governor wasn't about to do that in a political season. Watch the ABC News program and let me know if it doesn't sound political. Better yet, watch the whole thing -
That is not very nice. Just because someone disagrees with you doesn't make them a communist or a socialist. You are making this personal and that is not nice at all. Can't you discuss without the name calling?

Executions Down in 2010 Due to Cost and Lack of Drug
zoocrew replied to zoocrew's topic in RECENT TOPICS
The drug is in short supply and the number of capital case convictions were down. Never mind we've execute many innocent people. -
The cost of execution in tough economic times and a shortage of a drug used in lethal injections has meant 2010 had 12% fewer executions than last year. Some of the drug has been imported from England after the death penalty there was abolished but now England has clamped down on exporting the drug to other places. My Link

Under a new regulation issued earlier this month, Medicare will now pay for voluntary counseling for beneficiaries to handle the complex and difficult decisions when someone is approaching the end of their life. My Link

As a tax payer, you have the right to challenge any governmental action. If you feel this strongly, I am sure there are lawyers who will take the case and you would have the backing of many. Just a suggestion. Merry Christmas!

These are not laws but restrictions within the purview of all government entities, as allowed in the eighth amendment, where Congress is allowed to delegate regulatory powers. That idea was off-and-on discussed and cussed for 150 years until the 1928 decision settled it.

The Archbishop of Canterbury says that all people need to share at Christmas and that means the rich should share more of their abundance because, after all, giving is what Christmas is all about. My Link

That's quite a list of accusations there. So the whole EPA agency is: Elitists Socialists Haters of Capitalism Pagan Religionists Anti-American It's not very nice to make such accusations that label people in order to marginalize them, just because you don't agree with the politics. If you disagree with them, that's one thing. To slander people like that is to lie about them. That's very personal and getting personal like that doesn't do anything to foster honest dialogue. It doesn't help the situation. That is the sort of stuff that divides us as a nation and destroys people's liv

Roads are fine. Speed limit, if you want. After dark, not so much.

Simple science, some history and some logic may explain some of the holiday decorations and lore. Did psychedelic mushrooms and the Santa story gradually weave itself into popular culture over the last 200 years? Well, it looks like it. My Link. This shows consumer confidence is rising. When people start spending money, the economy begins to run on all cylinders again. This is very good news and shows the economy is well on the road to recovery. My Link

Frustrated by an in-active Congress, the EPA announced it will begin imposing restrictions on power plants to limit the greenhouse gases that contribute to global warming. The effort is to protect all Americans with new rules by 2012 so that the emissions from power plants and refineries don't continue the pollution at current levels. My Link

4th Quarter Numbers Show Economy in Solid Growth Mode
zoocrew replied to zoocrew's topic in RECENT TOPICS
It was a news link but I'm hoping for a check in the mail soon since I'm trying to get the word out that the economy is fine, has been fine, and will keep being fine for at least the near future. At least that is what the numbers have been saying since Spring 2009. -
That is right. Any of these FWD emails should always be run through the Urban Legend Test first. The sentiments may very well be good, but when it is mis-attributed and takes the form of an urban legend, it takes on a rather unsavory flavor. Snopes Link

Should Homewrecking Couple Announce Their Wedding?
zoocrew replied to zoocrew's topic in RECENT TOPICS
I used that phrase to make a joke about the situation. In fact, that was a phrase I read about the topic this afternoon and it struck me as funny. So I used it in the post. Didn't mean any sort of commentary about it at all. -
Should Homewrecking Couple Announce Their Wedding?

Fixed the question number 3. -
The "new" couple met innocently enough at their kids' school. They were married to Spouse 1.0 already. Friends, yes, but they claim they never had an affair. As rich, skinny parents often do, they fell in love, immediately separated from their spouses, divorced, and began working on each other. Now they've created a gossip firestorm because they announced their wedding and the whole damned story in the New York Times for god and everybody to see.

All the news is not rosey and the good news is still not enough to bring down unemployment immediately, but the latest numbers show the economy is still improving and has been for over a year now. Everyone is not seeing the direct results but a lot of people are seeing it get better. My Link

I loved the Easy Bake Oven! I used it even in Junior High. But my all time favorite was the cutest Pet Rock my boyfriend got me when I was in the 5th grade. He was cute too (the boyfriend). I still have that Pet Rock (Ellie) in my keepsake box and if that guy ever becomes available again --- well, I think I need to shut up.

From one pinkie bone scientists have discovered an heretofore unknown human ancestor, in Southern Siberia. But, by using DNA sequencing, the closest descendants have turned up in New Guinea, of all places. While the new ancestor is more closely related to Neanderthals than modern humans, it does show some hanky-panky going on between the two groups. It also shows that modern humans have some relation to this past ancestral group. And it shows that we have another set of questions to explore, like how those people moved from Siberia to New Guinea without also expanding into Europe? To t
