Are pet owners responsible for damage to others' property?
Skye replied to November Rain's topic in RECENT TOPICS
Defensive driving actually teaches that you should avoid swerving to miss an animal because you can lose control of the vehicle. Now, it's a natural reaction to want to swerve. Most people don't want to hit an animal. So, that said, you can't be on the hook for what it teaches. -
I just adore the name, "Liam" (pronouned "Leeum). It's short and has class.

Ever since that happened to me, I started wearing Crocs in the house. Now, I have bumper shoes! It will never happen again!

I saw earlier today under Recent Topics that someone was selling their Blackberry Verizon phone. You might want to run through the messages to see what it said.

Has anyone ever heard of concrete frost heave? Apparently that's why my driveway / garage looks like a mini earthquake hit it. The driveway next to the garage has risen up and pushed against the front of the garage, causing a bit of structural damage. The sidewalk meeting the driveway also seems to have slipped downward. So, the next rain will funnel right back under the raised driveway. Can't figure out who to call to fix it. I called the Paulding Building Inspector's office and they said they will not come out. I figured that if they signed off on approving the house when it was built

If the county was out checking secondary roads, why then, didn't they apply salt to them? There is no reason for Paulding to be out of commission for this long over such a small amount of snow. Sure, we live in the South where we're not used to this sort of thing, but come on.... people up North take care of things quicker and they have snow of much more significance. If you can't get out of your driveway, you could try salt, yourselves. Most roads are fine. You don't have to be snowed in this long. So, now because of this day off from school, I'm told we'll be having to make up a whole

No, I do not believe in the death penalty. God did not give us the right to kill anyone. God will make the ultimate judment. We may not have the prison space for all the criminals to stay for life-long sentences, but that doesn't change the commandments. God did not nominate us to choose who will live and who will die.

My 9 yr. old girl wants Godzilla movies and toys. Talk about needing E-bay! Nearly everything she's ever wanted had to be found on E-bay. That must be one heck of a Santa-Claus to be able to come up with such specific 50 yr. old things (that still look new).

That is heaven on earth. The pic. with the large rock in the foreground makes you feel like you're really there - could almost feel the river moving.

'66 Mustang. Got it as my first car. Had large mag wheels on the back, white with red interior and pin-striping. Being a girl in 12th grade always having ridden the school bus, this was an incredible surprise when it landed in my driveway one day when I got off the bus.

We'll have to try that out! We love the 50's theme. There's a long, skinny room in our basement that didn't make sense for much when we moved in. Somehow, it occurred to us to create a 50's diner. We found all the coolest stuff on E-bay. It's fun to eat down there. My daughter just loves Johnny Rockets, so we named our diner the Rocket Diner.

I wouldn't go on a cruise with all the flu virus issues right now. Actually, I'm kind of with you on the being "stuck on a boat" idea. A friend just came back from a cruise and said he never really got to see the countries connected to the ports of call the went to. You just never get far enough inland to see each one without the tourist traps. A more worthwhile vacation would have to be one where you could relax but not be bored. That's a cruise for some, but for me, it's a trip to Ireland. There, you can see a country in and out and relax while you're at it. So gorgeous and so many me

I guess my post is going to be the exact opposite of what everybody else is saying about their HOA. I'm glad to have an HOA. Although there is NEVER going to be a group of people running ANYTHING that EVERYONE will agree with, it's still good to have. I will NOT live in a neighborhood without an HOA and convenants. Covenants are there to protect the neighborhood's home values - end of story. I appreciate that and the people who give their time voluntarily to see to it that the neighborhood stays nice. Sorry to the people who disagree, but it really irritates me when people move into a ne

You know, I was wishing we had some stuffed animals for when we went to Austell to take some items for the flood victims. There's a street that was one of the worst hit that we went to. It's at Love St. and Robin St. in Austell. There were kids on that street who were living in their front yards while their homes were completely gutted. They lost all of their toys. My daughter, who is 8, bought a bunch of $1 store toys and let them pick some out. However, it's really nice when they can have stuffed animals to help them feel more secure.

I'll bet the risks of contacting the various diseases listed are far higher and far more serious than the risks associated with the immunizations. So, for the Menactra vaccine, I would say, "yes." Meningitis is somewhat common and can be very dangerous. The Varicella vaccine for Chickenpox is worth getting, too, because for a person to come down with that later in life, it could result in Shingles - horrible situation to be in. I'm going to even have to say another "yes" to the Gardisil - at this point, I wouldn't want Cervical Cancer to be a risk I could have prevented.

After what I saw this weekend, it must be people who lost their homes. See if you can help.

We're going to drive to some hard hit areas and hand out food and toys. My 8 yr. old bought lots of toys with her own allowance and is excited to be able to help.

SO how many people in paulding have flood insurance
Skye replied to Lady Raider's topic in RECENT TOPICS
I'm trying to remember the details, but seems like when we purchased our house, the mortgage company required a disclosure stmt. showing that the house was not in a flood plain. Some mortgage companies also require flood insurance. Not sure what the deal was, but I remember it coming up. -
Who ya' going to listen to - the water dept. or the health dept? I would say - the Health Dept. would be the better choice.

Unless specified on the Paulding.gov or Paulding schools site (which it is NOT), this is just a RUMOR. Guys, please do not get another rumor started. It doesn't take much to do that with all that's going on. Aren't there 3 furlough days before Christmas (any left, so far?)?
