Untrained eye? I saw what I saw. How can you say the court got it right from the video? I guess somewhere I missed the background story to the video. -
Odd topic LOL, but now that I think about it, No I do not.

DVBP, you asked for opinions, so here is mine. From just the video itself it looks like there is a very unhappy child and a Mama with an agenda. Since I don't know what has gone on I will have to say that if the Mama had put her child in the car and walked away things might have been better. Who video's their child so angry, hurt etc unless they have an agenda. I hope and pray that this child is a happy healthy kid today. DVBP, now you can tell me how I'm wrong about my OPINION!!!! -
We are prepared. We have wood to burn, food to cook on gas stove, grill or dutch oven over charcoal. I live with an Eagle Scout. It's just a way of life for us. Having said that......10AM the morning of the last stove my husband decided he wanted chilie and not with hamburger. He wanted steak in it. So we headed out to the store. I didn't think we would make it home. Men can be stupid at times. LOL

On the news last night I heard one county say they wouldn't salt the roads until the first fall of snow or ice. They would scrape the roads and then salt. I think it was DeKalb County, but do not quote me or trust this. I don't know why they wouldn't salt them first to be ready. I am guessing they do not want to waste the salt/sand in case this does not happen. I don't know.

It seems you work for the school system. Can you answer a few questions for me? What is the policy for deciding when you call school off for a weather event? Can this policy be found on the Paulding website. -
We have not received any mail since Monday. We love Jill, our mail carrier and don't blame her at all for not getting down our street. A friend of mine is a mail carrier. I talked to her Tuesday night and she was expected to be at work on Wednesday and had plans to ride with another mail carrier to work. I haven't talked to her since. My husband joked about the US Mail motto. She said there is nothing about ice in the motto. LOL We have been waiting on some mail order meds, so that does concern us. Bless you mail carriers out there who had to be out there in this!!

I wonder if there is a number yet of how many buses had to be abandoned and how many were damaged. There has to be some accountability of the dollar amount not closing the schools cost each county in damage to buses and the towing of buses.

Good Morning LR. We probably are going to venture out today and Saturday we have a grandson's birthday party to go to. So I hope and pray that the roads are better today and this weekend.

Before I ask my question, I will say I was not out on the interstates Tuesday. Also I will say I know 18 wheelers have to get their load to a certain destination by a certain time. I also don't know if it was the truckers or car traffic that caused the most problems. I did see on the news miles and miles of 18 wheelers stuck. I have heard talk about 18 wheelers going thru Atlanta illegally and about making some new rules about the trucks on icy roads. Can they (and should they) have some kind of law that the GSP can stop the flow of truckers from entering anywhere on 285 and surroun

Road conditions this morning-list if you know

Has anyone been on Dabbs Bridge Road? If so, what are the conditions? Thanks. -
I would let her fight her own battle, but you could be with her to witness what goes on. Be silent and listen. If you haven't already, check out my Bus info thread. Base was very inconsistent in what they allowed the buses to do. Print it out and have it handy!!!

This is what I saw at 4:30 on Tuesday morning. Why didn't the school system see this?

I could pretty much bet they were not helping the base radio. I listened for hours and at times 4 or 5 bus drivers would call one after another and no one answered them. Whomever was working the base radio would allow some things to some bus driver and not to others. It seemed to me that the bus drivers who took control of the situation and told Base what they were going to do (example: let the kids go in a store to go to the bath room) did the best. When a bus driver would ask if they could do something, they were told no. I guess it had something to do with liability, but this was not a -
