  1. my family has a compound.

    i don't reccommend it.

Really. The last freking thing I would ever want is all my family members living on my land (my extended family, not my kids). I would give them money to get their own place, just not near mine.

  2. What about a movie? There are a lot of good movies out right now for kids. Still not cheap, but may be a little less expensive. :)

Take her to Life College in Marietta and drive through all the lights that they have...that is free (except for gas). Kids love that! What a Great Grandpa you are!

    Scarlet

I think I will rely on Cat Power to decide what to do. I am not much for ideas these days. The lights sound cool. I used to take my kids out to look at lights. They are really cool when you are stoned (j/k)

  3. It isn't hard to understand. Because of the unions death grip on the auto companies it takes more union workers to produce the same amount of work

Unions were formed in an effort to stem worker abuse by employers, now the unions are just abusing their power and postion to the point where our companies cannot compete, but they still won't back down. Times have changed. They have outlived their usefullness.

But, I am not letting the company management off either. They sat on their ass and continued business as usual until it was too late. I don't think they can tear people away from Toyota, Honda, and Nissan now, no matter how good their cars get. Too little too late.

  4. I allways liked Whataburger, but I do not think there are any around here. If anyone k nows where one is please post :)

I ate one of those in Pensacola. Huge burger, and pretty good too. Fla. is the only place I have seen them.

Longhorn actually has a decent burger too. Thick.

  5. There is the live Nativity in the square- 6pm -10pm. Hayrides, marshmallow roasting, Singing, SANTA etc...!

    Thanks.

Man, people are just crawling with ideas today aren't they? This thread is as empty as my head.

Don't know about that live nativity stuff. Don't much care to see a woman give birth on the square. Especially with Santa standing right there.

  6. I have toys I bought yesterday and I need to drop them off.

The American Legion Post 111 has a box in the bar, just inside the door.

2587 Scoggins Road, about 3 miles from Dallas. It opens at 3pm daily. Enter from the deck around the rear of the building.

  7. that's going out of business has everything marked 50% off as of this morning. I got a couple of great deals! The first on is a 10 peice of Rachel Ray enamal non-stick cookware in blue. The set was only $80. (They only had 1 set left after I got mine.) The other is a Black and Decker Dustbuster 16.8 volts for $25. I got two. One for me and one for my dil! I'm very happy with my deals!

Now, if I could just get a deal on Rachel Ray herself....mmmmm.....

  8. If the rain effects the amount of water in your well I wouldn't be drinking it.

You are joking, right? I mean really. Especially when you think about where county water comes from. And yes, rain affects water pretty much everywhere. You seemed more sensible than that to me.

  9. Very good points feelip!

The airport it's self is not what going to bring the big bucks into the County, but what's planned around the airport is what's going to make the big difference. It will tale 5 to 10 years to fully develop, it's not going to happen overnight. What makes this airport different is the planning that has gone into the "other" stuff around it. I have said it before, the airport is just one piece of a very big puzzle to make this whole project work. The County just got a $45 MILLION "puzzle piece" for next to nothing.

Didn't they lose funding for all the "other" stuff? And where exactly would they put this "other" stuff, seeing as how much of the land out there is WMA, plus it is nothing but steep hills and deep valleys, making it difficult and VERY expensive to build anything. Anyone think of that before they stuck it out there? Doesn't seem like they did. It would be great if it brought industry and jobs to PC, but I must say I don't see it doing much, and even then not for many, many years. But I could be wrong. What the hell do I know.

  10. the family well is down below 3ft of water.

Is there anyone out there with similar problems? One guy at the Tractor Supply Store said many folks are having problems due to the drought.

How much is it to have a new well drilled?

Mine always kept 15ft in it and refilled about as fast as I used it, until about 3 months. It is down to 7ft, which means it is only about 4 ft about the valve, and when it goes below it take a day just to get back to 7 or 8 feet. I am going to have to get county I guess. I was hoping the rain would help, but things have been so bad for so long it will take a long time, if it ever fully recovers. A drilled well is extremely expensive I hear. I have heard anywhere from $3000 to $6000 and more.

  11. Look at the deal that Bartow made with Phoenix Air and there base. Budweiser and Kellog Companies land mainly at the Rome Airport. The new runway at McCollum is finished and should bring in even more traffic and revenue. The sales of small corporate jets last year was up 34% on an MSNBC report.

The deal Bartow made with Phoenix Air, but the big wigs land in Rome? Rome is in Floyd county. I don't follow this. What am I missing?

  12. So, rather than the airport being paid for by the citizens of Paulding County, it was paid for by a LOT of people who have no interest at all in our airport. Yeah, that makes a lot of sense.

And guess what... you're paying for their airport, too, most likely.

    Nothing's free, folks.

Finally, someone with common sense. I still don't know just how all the pie in the sky optimist think this "airport" is going to start pouring in money for Paulding. How? Lay it out for me. Really. I don't see it.

  13. Timothy Hutton plays a good character in the drama "Leverage," in which he is the leader of a motley crew of con artists and hackers who are crusading for truth and justice.

It is very pleasing for me to just think it's real. It's kind of like a lonesome lover who likes sweet nothings, whispered in their ear, even if they are not true.

I am a firm believer in this old saying, which I have heard many times, "The Best Way To Keep Evil In The World Is For Good People To Do Nothing About It." Timothy Hutton and his motley crew gives me the illusion that good people are doing something about it.

Watch "LEVERAGE" at 7 p.m. Tuesday, on TNT!

I love this! Ha Ha Hackers and con artist crusading for truth and justice. Does anyone else see how ridiculous this statement is?

  14. Well, I live in Yorkville now, and I had a hankering for some BBQ last night, when I found out they are open on Tuesday from 11am to 3pm only. Why? No one is out there during the day to eat lunch. Place is dead. Why not open from 3pm to 9pm when people get home and want to eat. Don't get it.

  15. We have raffled off guns on rides and at Double Vision, but you don't actually get the gun then. You get a certificate for a gun from a shop. You still have to have all the background checks and credientials or no gun.
