  1. Wish so much they'd also come in and buy up the crappy properties on East Paulding Drive which are really near the high school, middle school, etc.
  2. Anyone else ever done that before? Back in the day when my husband worked at the Fed or AJC (worked at both), he leapt out of bed at 3:00 AM. MIL and BIL did pretty much the same thing hoping to not miss a flight. BIL worked for Delta, perks, and took his Mom for a good Mother/Son time. Always great to find more time.
  3. Woke up early this morning totally convinced it was Monday. Went to the kitchen to start my normal Monday weekday routine. Turned on the news and there was a preacher. Wait, what? Turned to another channel, and there was another normally Sunday morning show. What?!? Looked at my computer, phone, calendar, etc. Yay! Sunday, not a work day! (At least not at the office)
  4. You guys are going to fight no matter what. That's a given. I personally think Pubby should start a new forum just for you. The thing about divorce was a low blow. Salt in a wound, etc. Personally never been through it, we'll be celebrating our 40th anniversary this coming Sunday, but, I've witnessed it closely, parents, friends, etc. Go to your corners guys and once in a while take a deep breath and shake hands. When it all comes down to it, we're all in this together:)
  5. So, a new cookie store is coming to Hiram. Personally, when it comes to cookies I prefer home made, but that's just me.

  7. Very sorry for your loss.
  8. Thanks, prayers for the family.
  9. Halloween, buying pumpkins, spooky music and all the decorations. The smell of a fresh Christmas tree (usually a Douglas Fir) in the house, and the first night in the fall/winter when we turn the heat on.. May sound weird to other people, but that is a special thing to us, LOL.
  10. Puppy breath and kisses and wags. Kittens acting spastic. The turn of each season, especially spring and fall. A rainy Sunday with a good book or good old movie. Good music that I can dance to or sing along with. Fresh, crisp sheets. And fresh seafood from their regions - Gulf shrimp, New England clams and lobster.
  11. My DIL (elementary school teacher here in PC) had not received the list as of last week. I had searched for it because I wanted to help her out. Finally found it, but it wasn't easy. You would think that would be a standard thing for the schools to circulate, especially to staff since they had to start back last Wed. Anyway, it boils down to the same basics depending on grade range. And ain't no way I'll be at Walmart tonight!
  12. Interesting, on their home page they have links to supply lists for all the elementary schools, but not for their own middle school.
  13. Used to use a man off Macland, but he's not around anymore.
  14. Just wanted to share a little joy and kindness, and so glad they were honored. And good for you re German Shepherds! Both breeds are so smart and such good service dogs! But, in the end, they are the best buds!

  16. DIL teaches at a local elementary school. It's a Title 1 school (large population of poor kids). She works her hiney off for those kids and the school. Fundraisers, etc. spending her own money on things for the classroom. I helped her set up her classroom 2 years ago. She and I were on our own. Hot as crap, no air conditioning, she showed me the teacher (lounge?). OK, I'm about to go to Walmart and help. And, I was always excited re the lists for school for my son.
  17. Yep, But she has red hair. Yes, that was from Sarah today at the WH press briefing. Anyone else watch it?
  18. I love the fact that his bail bonds man (woman/mom) paid his bail in cookies for the police dept.!
