  1. I guess Rodney's or Martin's for a biscuit/breakfast. To be honest, and this is sad, there really aren't any restaurants here to crow about.
  2. Wow, how cool is that!? Thanks so much for the back story!
  3. I think the best recipe I ever did in ours was stuffed peppers, and they were good! OK, now I want stuffed peppers,, or meatloaf while I listen to music from the '80's and start decorating for Fall and Halloween. Don't judge me, I'm old.
  4. Did you ever do the tongue test on a battery for an AM transistor radio? My God I'm old!!!!
  5. That I get, and that I hate, like Christmas decorations out starting out right after Halloween.
  6. Lordy, a microwave. That new, expensive machine Think we paid $500 for one big enough to cook a turkey( when I was pregnant with my son) from Rich's downtown Atlanta (we both worked downtown Atlanta). Do I still have that microwave and did I ever cook a turkey in it? Heck no!!!
  7. to start decorating for Fall, or better yet, Halloween? The leaves haven't started changing yet, but the last couple of days have felt like early Fall and I'm loving it!
  8. Yep! We may not all agree on political issues, but we can all agree on that!
  9. So when I said put it in perspective growing up during the Vietnam years WW2 seemed like ancient history, and that was only about a 20 year span. In high school, in the 70's, when it came to music, "oldies" were from the 50's, again, a 20 year span. And now, if somebody were to label music from the 80's "oldies" I'd look at them like they were crazy LOL.
  10. I was a few months shy of 11.
  11. I'm loving the fact that some of us can come together on a common subject! Hard for me to fathom that 1969 was that long ago, music, etc,
  12. Woodstock was 49 years ago, and I still listen to that music. I've turned in to my parents.....classics from the WW2 era. If you put it in a time perspective, it will really make some of us make us feel old
  13. I've had tons of wierd moments, but reading your back and forth beats anything I could come up with! Thanks for the stories!
  14. When I think "let's go out for a great dinner, or just good". Well, Hiram has chains, or we could go to Marietta or Cartersville and find an actual good restaurant. We loved Banditos back in the day which was right on the proper square in downtown Dallas. We really never go there anymore unless it's a pass thru for something else, and that's way too bad.
  15. This was at the Kennedy Center Honors. Carole King was one of the honorees. She wrote the song. Look at her reaction when the special guest is revealed, and then just listen to Aretha. Pure amazing voice. I can't stop watching this, and I tear up every time. And now, I THINK I need to watch her part in The Blues Brothers again.
  16. Please continue...………………...
  17. LOL! Good feeling though, correct? Ha!
