  1. The one just now for McCain has been amazing, and the one going on in Detroit for Aretha. No dry eyes here today.
  2. What ever happened to Jack Kemp? Wasn't there some kind of scandal or something? I'm asking a serious question. Yes, I know, Google is my best friend, but I'm not in the mood.
  3. Another conundrum. I've gone by many low income areas in Dallas/Marietta/Atlanta where some people have tried to make their Section 8 duplexes/apartments, etc. look nice. They're at a loss. I'm guessing a lot of those Grannies and Grandpas on fixed incomes would love to untie their own hands and have a voice. Just saying.
  4. I am very torn on all the changing of names for existing streets, boulevards, stadiums, etc. I'm all down for honoring well deserving people, I am. But changing names, while sweet, causes a lot of confusion when travelling for people from out of state, business locations have to pay a ton of money to change everything re their mailing address, etc.. Heck, my address, street number and zip code changed from what it was when I moved here, and I'm a nobody!
  5. Sounds Halloweenie to me. Take a T Bone, eat the steak, take leftover bone, cover it in garlic, and when a vampire shows up at your door you're prepared!
  6. Hey folks, some of us are turning about the same age. Apparently you guys/gals are a little older than me (not by much) I've really enjoyed this thread. Thanks for playing, and people can actually get along here. We have more in common than we show. Night.
  7. I'm an old woman, a Granny, I can cook a great holiday meal, but I can still appreciate songs.
  8. Take care you! OK? Now, find a good movie, a good song that brings back great memories, or, a dog or cat!
  9. OK, whoever mentioned Mother's Finest wins the prize with me. The song Baby Love is amazing. And my sister saw the Beatles at the old Atlanta Stadium in '65.
  10. Agree. No cousins but the name of my best friend in 6th grade has her brother's name on The Wall.
  11. "69 was a place and a thing for that time. Yasgur's Farm was not equipped for the onslaught, but you can't deny (or you can),that the music and it's place in history are historic. Heck, after 49 years we're still talking about it. Didn't the Manson murders happen that same year? Oh yes, I think they did. You were 7? Well, respect your elder here. That is all:)
  12. Astaire. If anyone saw him live, what an amazing gift!
  13. OK, I need to now to go go listen to Mother's Finest. Piece of the Rock.
  14. Mine was Paul Revere and the Raiders at the old Atlanta Civic Center downtown Atlanta, which I think is now part of GA State U. My husband saw them at Belmont Hills Shopping Center, as well as Jane Mansfield. My God I'm old! Front row seat for Linda Ronstadt. Elton John many times, and him playing piano with Billy Joel! And my first live concert with my soon to be husband back in '78 was Emerson, Lake and Palmer at the old Omni.
  15. OK, now I've got Summer of '69 by Bryan Adams playing. in my head.
  16. Goodness! Way too many of my responses! Sorry! Now that's something I can get behind!
  17. And what shall you be fixing tonight? I agree. And what shall you be fixing for dinner tonight?
