  1. I did just that. I meant to come back and thank you. Thank you!
  2. Maybe I should lower the bar? lol Does anyone have a divorce attorney they can recommend? At all?
  3. I am assisting a friend in locating a good attorney in Paulding County that has potentially had some success in representing fathers in custody issues. But, really... any recommendations from any men who really liked their attorney would be appreciated. I was able to navigate a successful uncontested divorce myself and share 50/50 legal & physical custody with their father, so I really had no idea just how crazy the rabbit hole of a contested divorce can be. By proxy, I feel overwhelmed at how abysmal the options are for fathers. I really had no idea just how much men were at the m
  4. What are you selling? I'm in the market and prefer a used car. Actually came here to see if there was anything for sale - I bought a great car from the auto forum here years ago but it appears to be dead.
  5. I don't visit this forum often, but it's always a great wealth of information when something is going on in Paulding. I was just curious if anyone had any input about a Facebook Petition making the rounds about the Chick-fil-a fundraisers in Paulding county. I went and read through the minutes on the Board's page, but it looks like the minutes regarding this are not up yet (must have come up at the 27th meeting or something?). Anyhow, the text of the petition says this: >>>>>>>> The people of Paulding County demand that the Board reject any petition r
  6. Thanks ya'll! I'm going to run to Kroger & Publix and see if they can help. I have to meet the woman here in a few hours and if it's not notarized, well, it's just not notarized. I'll get some random person to witness my signature, or heck... maybe I'll just sign it in front of her. I figured I could go to the UPS store, but didn't even think about the fact it would be closed on Sunday (doh!)
  7. Does anyone know where I can go to get something notarized today? I didn't think far enough ahead and am now in a bind. The libraries, banks & shipping stores are closed today and I have to deliver a notarized letter today (we are heading out of town first thing in the morning). I normally plan so much better than this, but have too much going on. It doesn't help that I received a witness subpoena via certified mail just last Thursday to appear in court on Tuesday!! I did get the plaintiff to agree to accept a notarized letter from me in lieu of me testifying, but what a total pain th
  8. I'm afraid to venture out. We are supposed to drive to Knoxville today. I would prefer to err on the side of waiting another day, but my mom gets in a hurry. Wonder where to go to find out good info on the roads?
  9. Support and accept what? The fact the news media finds a non-story to report on? The fact that no matter how you slice it, Mr. Bono probably won't be happy? I agree with the "live and let live" sentiment, but not the "support and accept". This is so not news. Everytime I see a story featuring Chas, I just think "who cares".
  10. There are plenty of experimental treatments and procedures that Medicaid won't cover (as well as regular insurance). Maybe that is the case here. I tend to give people the benefit of the doubt as far as things like this go. If they are using their daughter to make financial gains, they probably aren't making that much. Seems it would be easier to just get a job, but, oh yeah.... those are pretty hard to come by now days. So, it just sounds like a crappy situation no matter how you slice it.

    im so excited

Congrats! I'm a few weeks behind you (18 weeks). This is our second surprise, so we've got a ways to go before we find out. I'm thinking pink for you!
  12. I'd just get out of there as quick as I could. Did they sign a contract or anything? I would refer to it and see what it says. Otherwise, I'd expect my deposit back, but probably not the rent. I would, however, go ahead and bill the guy on a pro-rata basis for the days in the month in which I was not living in the place and hope he would reimburse me. Hopefully some real estate guru will read and respond
  13. I'm just learning about flowers, and am trying to get information everywhere I can Can you tell me where you hang them? Do they need full sunlight or partial? I would really appreciate any info! Thanks for the recommendation and the insight!
  14. Maybe the website said, but it wasn't easy to find.... what time would you suggest people get there tomorrow (Saturday)? Thanks!
  15. Idiot! Things like this just totally tick me off. Some poor guy is going to have to clean that monumental mess up. Ugh. Everytime I see an epic fail, I'm reminded of just how big of a gap there is in our education (parenting?) system, and how ultimately, we all have to pay for that.
  16. We have been twice and had a lot of fun. Celery, peanuts, carrots and crackers are really good foods to take. You can buy more when you get there, if you need. I have read reviews where people said they hated it because it was not sanitary and they felt bad for the animals. It is certainly NOT a zoo, or some posh place for animals. But, I think it's some type of refuge where they take formerly sick or hurt animals. That being said, the animals looked ok to me. We love seeing the squirrels all over the place (they love the peanuts and will go dig a hole and bury them). It's super c
  17. I've wondered the same thing about Michael Jackson. Was his addiction to plastic surgery simply a way to justify getting more pain pills? Also, I'm not really sure how drug testing welfare recipients would do anything to address the original post. And if it did, it would be disproportionate to the bigger picture, since addiction isn't restricted to welfare recipients. On a personal level, I can totally see the addictive power of pain pills. I love it when I get a script. I got percocets after my C-section, lortab after my wisom teeth were taken out and hydrocodone for a strained
  18. I don't think it's constructive when your partner tells you something that is intended to make you jealous. Not sure if that is what he was doing, but I'm curious why he told you about that situation in the first place, if not to make you jealous. On the other hand, I have certainly felt proud before in situations where I've seen a girl check out my husband, or when someone has told me I have an attractive husband. I didn't feel jealous in those situations at all, but I suppose I could have chose that emotion instead pride. I tend to associate jealousy with insecurity... and I've cer
  19. Wonder if you could go in, tuck her back in, give her a kiss, tell her it's night time, then leave again? Repeat every 5-10 minutes until she falls back asleep, which could take all night but after a few nights of consistently doing this, she might get back on schedule. Our son did something similar, but he'd just sit and play in his bed. He never really called me, so I never had to figure out what to do. On the other hand, he did go through a phase where he would try to leave his room after I tucked him in. I camped out in the hallway with a book for a few nights and would catch him on t

    Am I nuts?

It's possible I'm just nuts I swear I heard *something* though. I went to my front door, opened it and listened until it winded down. It's always possible it was Cobb, since I'm right on the line. It's hard to tell which direction from my location, and I often have a hard time even when it's tornado warnings figuring out which system it is coming from. But, it really sounded like it was coming from the direction of Hwy 92.

    Am I nuts?

I live in South Paulding (at Brownsville and 92) and I swear I just heard the sirens go off for a minute or two. Anyone one else hear them? Or were they emergency responders and I'm just crazy? The whail on the siren seemed entirely too long and were very reminiscent of tornado warnings, but I may just need some more coffee?
  22. We used to do tublebees as well w/ the Parks & recreation department. We also used to do a music class w/ them as well. It's nice because they aren't too long (as far as weeks go) and so, not too expensive.
  23. I can't imagine Tidwell would be passable. It covers in water on the Brownsville end during regular rains. I can only imagine it's completely covered now!
