  1. Bye bye Alberta, glad you blew through so quickly..........now keep going and let's warm this place up!! Heat wave coming in Wednesday and Thursday!!
  2. I.do.not.miss.that.kind.of.cold. Stay warm!! The fence is to help keep the snow from drifting across the road, right?? I've seen some pretty big snow drifts but I prefer to look at them on my computer screen vs out my window.
  3. I have seen absolutely no improvement in our field. Perhaps I'm just blind. Or maybe the left is spinning this to make themselves look better???
  4. Good morning Pcom. Didn't make the festivities last night, something came up. I suspect we'll hear from others in a couple of hours. JohnnyJ, what the heck are you doin' awake???
  5. Not here, we barely billed enough to make the payroll the entire month. I keep hoping and praying the construction industry will pick up but so far, no go.
  6. WTG Chas!! I remember when he was a little boy!! I mean a couple of years old. LOL I know his parents are sooooo proud!!!
  7. Kroger sells bags for $4.00 each, there are about 6-8 pieces of wood in each bag.
  8. Google is already collecting and sharing data with the White House. I don't think I want them having all my info. I'm switching to Bing.
  9. Where are our computer geeks?? Seems Google's outdone themselves this time. So much for those hard drives. New Google Chrome I just don't think I want Google storing my data.
  10. Good for you and the example you are setting for your nephews. I don't like seafood, except crab legs. I don't like beer, too carbonated but I do like a glass of nice wine and some Twisted Tea. Not a liquor drinker at all except maybe a Margarita now and then. I have fondness for good Champagne. Tonight we're having mostacholi with a marinara sauce that's been in the crock pot all day. Salad with home grown lettuce and tomatoes (yes I still have some) and garlic bread. Still have some homemade apple pie for desert, or I might eat some Spumoni ice cream, yummy!!
  11. I agree, but it was brought in a truck and dumped in the yard. Seriously, I was just trying to help. I feel like I was taken advantage of, but I didn't get on here and start bad mouthing anyone. We burn a lot of wood, I really like my fires to burn, not smoke. I also like to get what I was told. I guess I was just too trusting. Apparently no one really cares, so we'll just close this thread. BTW there are several folks on here that sell firewood.
  12. We have plenty out this way if you want to drive to Yorkville. If not, check with Elrods, I'll bet they have some. Oh and don't eat the berries. LOL
  13. The purpose of this thread was because I got firewood that was only 12-14" long that was very green. I was told it was a cord, it was not. I was told it was seasoned, it was not. Perhaps it was just me, but I won't buy that kind of wood again, perhaps the more people know about what they are paying for, the better for everyone. It was merely a thread to educate people, I didn't refer to anyone or call anyone out.
  14. Have you seen some of them around here???
  15. Amazing this is having a larger impact on small businesses than those that employ hundreds.
  16. Careful PSD, this is Paulding County. Most of our education personnel went to Paulding County Schools, are you sure about that efficiency thing??
  17. LOL I can picture that in my head. Our Chow had just delivered 5 puppies in February. They were outside in their dog house while it was snowing, the puppies were only a few days old. I went to check on them when the snow started piling up and then I saw it. That little lump sticking out of the snow about 5 feet from the dog house, I was so sad I just knew what it was. I walked over, brushed off the snow and it was one of my son's balls. LOL Pulled back the cover on the door of the dog house and momma and all 5 puppies were toasty warm and acting like nothing was going on.
  18. The Chamber of Commerce is sending me some info on their plan for businesses in Paulding. Not sure if it's even affordable but worth a shot.
  19. We had Kaiser until they dropped WellStar. Most of of our employees have used the same physician for years and didn't want to have to change. It may come down to changing or not having insurance.
  20. 35% increase in premiums!! Holy Cow!! Yea, we get to keep what we already had, but at what cost??? I think I'm gonna be sick, then I have to do some shopping!!!!
  21. I know I'm gonna get in trouble for this but.............little kids in restaurants. I go to enjoy my meal, not hear your kids screaming. There are restaurants that are geared toward kids, take them there.
  22. I've lived here for 27 years and can't remember when we've had a measurable snow fall before Christmas....... Bring it on......I have a fireplace, gas water heater and a gas stove. I'll survive if, and only if, the pool doesn't freeze again. LOL
