  1. Awww, so sorry.......prayers being said for Jason's healing. Please keep us posted on his progress.
  2. Yep, probably a few more cards going out this year. All we can afford, won't be nearly as many presents. But that's OK, you have to endure some hardships to really appreciate the good things. Let's see now this is probably my 111th hardship, at least I'm still alive to count them.
  3. LPPT that is a wonderful idea!! Probably wouldn't take that much longer. Those pulling wagons could walk down the side, collect the toys and hand out candy. If they somehow got missed there could be a collection bin set up on the square................wow, you need to talk to someone about your idea.
  4. I'm not doubting you were frustrated but it's been this way for years, it is a safety issue but if we eliminate the "throwers" we won't have much of a parade. I worry more about safety and an accident than I do about candy. The kids get excited and sometimes it's hard to control them. It is a huge undertaking and a few very dedicated folks put this together. Maybe you could work with them about how to keep the candy out.
  5. There's another thread about this and no one replied here Maybe someone will chime in. I think jlh10101 lives over that way.
  6. Thank you!! The parade is a wonderful event, for everyone..........those that like candy and those that don't, young and old, and everyone in between!! Seriously if there is something you don't like and it never changes why do you subject yourself to that??
  7. Well if every float was throwing but one and we kick them all out, it won't be much of a parade with just one float will it???
  8. He moved here (Dallas) from Alabama, a week later I moved here from Chicago. He moved into one side of the duplex, me the other. Guess it was meant to be - 26 years later we are still together, been married 23.
  9. LL they are not supposed to throw candy, it is very clearly stated in the application. Now how do you expect to go about stopping them?? I guess we could just kick them out and not let them be in the parade? It's been going on for so long, I don't think people understand the safety issues. Maybe you should write to the Rotary or Civitans and let them know who does throw candy, that way when they submit their application next year they can be denied participation.
  10. Congrats and Happy Anniversary!! Have a great day!!
  11. Ummmm, I already see the bottom one as your avatar. Looks like you made it work.
  12. I thought about that but didn't want to bother you. If I had know you weren't there, I would have gone. j/k
  13. Congrats!!! I have to work today, then cub scouts tonight.
  14. Just shows to go you Scarlett, life finds a way. It's beautiful and what a nice find the second week of December. Couldn't ask Mother Nature for anything more surprising.
  15. Morning everyone, it's cold but not as cold as yesterday morning. Have a great day all.
  16. They are not, they are wonderful boys!! Mom and dad are pretty exceptional, too.
  17. Yeah!!!! If you don't know her boys you are really missing out. Some of the best behaved, honest, sincere and trustworthy kids you ever want to meet. Very polite and respectful............WTG Spaz and TrackMaster!!!!
  18. Well it depends. I shop at Wallyworld for my paper products, milk, eggs and cheese. I don't buy any meat there except for the 93/7 ground beef and smoked sausages. If they have a good price on ham steaks I'll buy them there. I prefer Ingles for my meat, especially the pork and beef. If you watch for the sales, they are the cheapest and the best quality. I also prefer Ingles Laura Lynn brand to all other store brands. Kroger is convenient, if I just need to pick up a few things I'll go there. I also like the gas discounts I get. I will not buy store brand cheese at Kroger, it s
  19. Anybody that has ever been to the high school can see this behavior daily. They get in front of your vehicle and don't move............they learn it at school, what can we say???
  20. I just can't understand why people throw their trash on the ground.............such a mess. It's always been like this after the parade. Are there not enough trash cans provided?? Perhaps that needs to be looked in to. Parking has always been a huge problem and with the number of people in Paulding now, it gets worse every year. Maybe we could use the lot at the new Courthouse and provide some type of shuttle to and from the parade. I realize it would cost $ but can you really put a price on safety?? It would be soooo much easier to get in and out of town if that could happen.
  21. That is very nice LR, it could easily be changed to read "Siblings". My sisters gave me one many years ago when I was going through my divorce..........."Lord, help me make the way through the changes in my life" I cherish it to this day. It was just what I needed. Siblings know us better than anyone.
