  1. Awww, I'm sorry AP. Prayers for her and your family.
  2. I don't know Simon and Sarah, should I?? Are you trying to tell us something.
  3. Novella, please don't forget about those flying monkees, you know the ones she brags about in her avatar. I'v seen them, they are pretty scary and hills don't bother them at all.
  4. When I lived in Chicago, Mariott Hotels would occasionaly have what they called, "The Inflation Fighter, One Nighter" I was just thinking about this the other day. It included a one night stay, champagne and tickets to a live performance of a play at one of the theatres near by. We took advantage of it every time they ran the "special". It was a great time. WTG Sleep Inn
  5. What the heck is going on in that neighborhood?? I think it migrated to Justthinkin'hard's neck of the woods too. I understand she doesn't live that far away from them. Remind me not to go near 61 and Scoggins road for a while, something's been let loose over there.
  6. Just in case nobody mentioned it, Scouting is a great organization!! I know the nursing home could always use volunteers as the hospital for visiting older folks. Most families stay with their loved ones but some just can't be there all the time.
  7. Glad you sruvived and had fun. I have no doubt I would survive, I just wouldn't want to come out of that sleeping bag, ever. Oh and Barbed wire, really they are all a little crazy. That happens when you spend so much time with a couple hundred of your kids closest friends.
  8. I just knew you needed them for the blue and gold banquet........you know a scout is thirfy, after the banquet if you recycle them there will abe a couple gazillion. Is that more than a bizillion?? Oh and let me give you fair warning, payback is a *itch. Somehow I think Solo has a few tricks up her sleeve for the retaliation measure. You better be absolutely sure that's what you want to do.
  9. I had a cousin and nephew die in a snowmobile/lake accident many years ago. It was an awful feeling. The poor dad, he saw it happen and could do nothing to get them out. Stevie was 8 and his mom was only 33. This was in Illinois where it's common practice to use lakes for 4 wheelers and 4 wheelers. It has not been cold long enough for a lake to be frozen to support any weight, let alone a 4 wheeler. This is Georgia, lakes/ponds don't freeze deep enough for any activity on them. I too hope you called 911.
  10. Anyone been down Goldmine?? or Holly springs from the Church going toward Dallas?? Both of those roads are usually pretty bad.
  11. We have that GD, it just has never been this cold. The pool never froze before this year. The pump kicks on when it drops below 38, it's supposed to keep it from freezing, you know moving water and all. It has just stayed on for the last week...........I'm gonna take LPPT's advice and make a little cover for the pump and filter and put a warming lamp in there like we do the well house. That should work, if it doesn't fall below zero. If I cover it, it will interfere with the waterfall from the spa and the freeze guard to keep the water running. The cover it needs will cost a couple
  12. Ok so I left the heater on in the pool last night, on a very low setting. No ice in the pool this morning, no wonder it's 72 degrees. Used over 20% of the gas in the tank in one night!!! That's more than we use in two weeks!! Oh well, I guess it's better than 2" thick ice??? Gotta get hubby to set something up like LPPT sugested, can't afford that dang propane. Glad I got a good deal on that tank full. Anyone want to go swimming, the water is very warm!!
  13. So we broke down and turned on the heater, the pool is now 43 degrees and very little of the 2" thick ice left. Going to leave the heater running and a quilt over the filter and pump til it warms up some. No telling how much damage may have already been done, just because I didn't want to "waste" the gas. I didn't even fall in breaking up the ice either.
  14. I posted so everyone would know it wasn't me.
  15. These ponds are never frozen long enough for the ice to support any weight. There are places you can actually drive a vehicle on ice but Georgia isn't one of them.
  16. But once you get out of that bag, it's a bit chilly ~~~brrrrr~~~ OK, training the second weekend of January 2011 in Blairsville
  17. It's two degrees in Blairsville this morning. I really pray those scout leaders are learning good lessons on how to stay warm. Hopefully no one gets hypothermia. UnionMom, are you still sad you couldn't go?? I have done some carzy things in Scouting but no way, now how could I do this.
  18. I think you're right chindog. I think there was a thread once about monkeys in the woods.
  19. Sorry, munchies have to be crunchy...........soup is good but maybe with some Doritos or tortilla chips, crackers might work. Child of the 70's here, too. Who remembers Woodstock?? I was 13.
  20. Lacey M looks soooo adorable. I like hand prints, too.
  21. She's a fighter, takes a lot to get her down. (((Hugs))) to you and Moma B........
  22. Also Johnny I think it is gonna take a bit more than "a little"
  23. Very nice!! See not all bosses are mean!!
  24. That's hysterical. Are his wheels still spinning??
