  1. Not quite so simple, if you are trying to get to the South Paulding area. Macland Road is closed, this morning Powder Springs Road was closed as Hopkins. Only route from Marietta was out Hwy 120. Of course, you could go to up 75 to Acworth and come down 92.
  2. I-20 is closed from Fulton Industrial to Fairburn Road
  3. If your home is not located near a flood plain, no where near a creek or lake or not in a low lying area, I would think most folks would not pay the extra money for flood insurance.
  4. Thornton may be closed down near Sweetwater Creek.
  5. Hubby works in Douglasville. Bakers Bridge is closed, 92 is closed. I would bet 61 is too. RAINING AGAIN at Ridge and Bakers Bridge. HARD.
  6. 11 Alive just reported all the kids are safe!
  7. Amazing Grace - sang at my dad's funeral. Was so out of it, I didn't remember. Couldn't for the life of me understand why I cried every time I heard it until my mother told me about 4 or 5 years later. He Stopped Loving Her Today - George Jones - reminds me of my dad and mom. If Tomorrow Never Comes - Garth Brooks - my hubby says this song is for me from him.
  8. My hubby's too. Hubby called me around 11 asking if I had heard anything on the news. I hadn't been watching tv, so I got on P.com.
  9. I had just gotten to work when I heard the news. My mom called me, I watched it on my computer. The one thing I will remember is my daughter calling me from school. She was at Dobbins and played softball. They had called all the kids to the office that were involved in sports co they could call their parents as practices and games were cancelled. They didn't tell the kids why, just to call their parents to let them know about the cancellations. Of course she wanted to know what was going on. She could tell something bad had happened from the way everyone was acting. I could hear th
  10. Value down 30K from last year, taxes up almost $300 from last year.
  11. But Paulding does. Seller Beware: Used Vehicle Sales What to Do Before You Sell According to Georgia law, the seller (regardless of location in Georgia) is responsible for selling a vehicle with a valid, passing VIR if the buyer is going to register the vehicle in one of the 13 metro Atlanta counties.
  12. According to GA law is was the SELLERS responsibility to get the emission test. The car was not supposed to be sold without a valid passing report. http://www.cleanairforce.com/docs/Seller_Beware.pdf
  13. Tell her thank you for me. My nephew leaves this Sunday for Parris Island. Proud Aunt of a future Marine! He plans to make it a career.
  14. Wasn't the smallpox vaccine we used to get a live virus? You know, the one that left a weird scar on your upper arm. Isn't smallpox considered to be eradicated? I don't recall having to get my 21 year old a smallpox vaccine like that.
  15. Try Carnation Instant Breakfast French Vanilla. They are very sweet. My MIL is suffering from advanced dementia and has just about stopped eating completely. They are one of the only things we can get her to eat. Sadly, I don't look for her to be with us much longer. There is a perscription med you can get called Megace (sp?). It's normally perscribed to cancer patients on chemo to stimulate appetite. It might work for your MIL. Anything is worth trying. My prayers are with you and your family.
  16. Also, have your agent rate your teen on all of your cars. When my daughter started driving, she had a small truck (1996) and she was listed as the primary driver. When we purchased her a 2005 Jeep Liberty, State Farm listed me as the primary driver and kept her as the primary driver of the truck. I had gotten rid of my 1999 Grand Cherokee, so the coverage just switched over to the new Jeep. My insurance went up exactly $1.00 per month. As long as they are listed on your policy, they can drive any vehicle you own and are covered.
  17. I personally would go to the store, go inside, ask for the manager and pitch a fit right there! A VERY LOUD FIT! Of course, after making sure the store was very crowded.
  18. OK, 'fess up, how many of you drink milk right from the jug?
  19. Yeah, our neighbor used to kill the rat snakes, I think that's what they were, that got into his dog food. We kept telling him they weren't dangerous and not to shoot them. It is was probably the next summer that we found the copperhead. Not to mention, the rat population exploded. Our dogs had a field day in the backyard that summer chasing rats. Fortunately, he then started shooting the rats instead of the snakes. I hope I don't have to worry about copperheads anymore, we moved from that house a few years ago. The house had a very large creek behind it and my hubby said it was full of
  20. You are as passionate about snakes as I am about dogs. We agree on one thing, these types of snakes are not for anyone who hasn't done their homework about the care of them, what to expect size wise, etc. Just like I would never get a dog who would reach say 150 lbs and live in apt with no place to excercise it.
  21. Got scared by a rattlesnake. Walked up on it. Still can't get the sight of it out of my head. I know it's unreasonable to be so scared of snakes. So I just made sure I knew which ones were dangerous. I just leave them all alone, well except for the 3 or 4ft copperhead we found right by our walkway about 10 years ago. Sorry, it died.
  22. Cars? No, I was actually talking snakes, big cats, fish etc. Animals that people would tend to get without knowing how to properly care for them and would tend to release into the wild when they got to a size that became unmanagable.
