  2. “83 percent of all U.S. stocks are in the hands of 1 percent of the people.” How much stock is 1% of the people going to keep, if the other 99% of us don’t want them to keep but about 10% of that amount? “61 percent of Americans "always or usually" live paycheck to paycheck, which was up from 49 percent in 2008 and 43 percent in 2007.” If 1% of us would join the rest of us on how to handle that problem, I believe we could pull out of it. “66 percent of the income growth between 2001 and 2007 went to the top 1% of all Americans.” Start taking more of the income for ourselves, h
  3. I think maybe this man knew that his son stood a better chance without him. Loving your children may mean not interfering with better help than one knows he can provide. Why would the man hobo his son, just because he had to start being a hobo, himself? http://youtu.be/9GOkc6aEfkM This man might want his son to get the help, while daddy knows he not worth any help.
  4. Well I guess Warren Buffet put up the Million$ bet knowing he wasn't going to lose.
  5. So far, and for two prior years, I am satisfied with my Aetna Insurance coverage. I like their silver sneakers program, also. I can go to many different health, and exercise, classes at many of the gyms near me. All the exercise equipment's are available for my use 24 hours a day, every day. I'm going to get me a laptop so I can run on the treadmill and post, on P.com, at the same time.
  6. I'm sure he appreciates our sympathy, just like my daughter appreciated all the sympathy she got, with a bullet hole in her shoulder and her arm in a sling. But, she got very angry with her dad, (me) for saying that SOB needs to rot in jail. And, I mean really ANGRY. I hope the young man, you are speaking of, is better in the area of understanding the facts, than I am sorry to admit my daughter is not very good in.
  7. He Talked about how to feel good about yourself. And, about how politically correct teachings have created a generation of children with no concept of reality, and how their they have been set up for failure in the real world. http://youtu.be/NSaCxGTuBng
  8. I think that culture is not only taught in the home, but by piers, school teachers, and the society around us. Christmas comes but once a year, but it teaches us a lot. It's a good teacher because our children love to get presents, and if they don't get any presents they could's care less about Christmas. In fact they may resent that day, because they see other children with new presents. I'd be willing to bet that you can remember the emotions, about past Christmas's, better than the facts about them. You probable experience some of the same emotions, now in the present, that you fel
  9. I'm sorry, S & G's N! I though Supplemental Security Income (SSI), which is a Federal income supplement program, and is funded by general tax revenues (not Social Security taxes), came from Social Security. My bad, I apologize! Even so, why would receptionists be charged more federal taxes on the average, than members of the Forbes 400 themselves?????
  10. While it may be true that rewards and punishments teach us what to do and what not to do, it cultures us to be like everybody else round about. People who say, "greed is good" know that about us. I don't want to embarrass, HPD, by this old SOB fully agreeing with what he said above, but I can't help it.
  11. I am a firm believer in that we do it to ourselves as individuals, who live in a social and cultural setting. Each person is born into a social and cultural setting. we form families and friends as we go down life's road. This involves family, community, social class, language, religion, and eventually develops many social connections. The characteristics of a child's social setting affect how he or she learns to think and behave, by means of instruction, rewards and punishment, and example. This setting includes home, school, neighborhood, and also, perhaps, local religious and law
  12. Exactly! I have never had a clue, about anything I have ever taken the time to ponder. I am just like I was when I was born, I didn't have a clue then, and I don't have a clue now. My name should be havenoclue, instead of The Postman.
  13. SSI comes from payroll taxes, and there is something wrong there. Warren Buffet says, "I’ll bet a million dollars against any member of the Forbes 400 who challenges me that the average (federal tax rate including income and payroll taxes) for the Forbes 400 will be less than the average of their receptionists." That was in 2008, and so far, no-one has taken him up on this bet.
  14. We can put our God-given talents to work, along with determination, and the willingness to try as hard as we can, but our memory stores more emotions than facts How then can we learn from the professors, other teachers, and even our parents, what the facts really are? When you think about your on capacity, for remembering things in your past, you probably recognize that your ability to remember is both a gift and a curse. What you may not realize is that as human beings we are poor historians of fact. Nevertheless we are superb in emotional history. Do we send our children to schoo
  15. I don't think there is much anyone can do. It's sad, but that is the way it is. Jetasmom has said "she would is she could." My son-in-law shot my daughter in the shoulder, and when a neighbor heard the shot my daughter had managed to get away in the car. The neighbor asked my son-in-law if he had heard the shot, and he told the neighbor, "yes I heard it, and I am the one who pulled the trigger." The neighbor ask "why," he said, "I shot my wife, and I hope she dies from the wound." My son-in-law got locked up. His mother went on his $200,000 bond, and where did he go? He wasn't suppose
  16. I heard Portland was foot loose and fancy free place, as for as letting it all hang out, so to speak.
  17. I see, and thanks. I just had a situation once where a Federal justification would have changed what the State declared, or so I was told by someone in a Federal office.
  18. I understand, LC, that you don't see anything wrong with it, but that says nothing of why Georgia needs to have the MUCH broader Declaratory Judgment Act. I mean I'm not saying it's bad, because I don't know. It just seems to me that the if lesser broad Act is good in many other states why Georgia? Is this a benefit to the petitioner, or a benefit to the defendant. In any event, Lisa, Thank you!
  19. That's great, JT! I have a 2001 Ranger, with a little over 100,000 miles on it, and a 2000 Pontiac Montana, with almost 170,000 on it. Both paid for. Total tax on Ranger $84.04 Total tax on Montana $77.30
  20. I just finished a bowl of Kroger brand Strawberry Frozen Yogurt. Does Chobani carry Frozen yogurt?
  21. I am asking questions, of which you answered one, about frivolous. I've been hearing people complain about frivolous law suits, and was wondering if a Declaratory Judgment was considered frivolous by some of the ones who have been talking about frivolous law suits. Also I wanted to ask: "Why does the State of Georgia have this much broader Declaratory Judgment Act than many other States?" It seems to me that our laws should NOT be overly broad and keep clear on their face, for ease of understanding.
  22. All of your family in in my prayers. today. I don't know them, nor you, but I know some of the pain you must be feeling.
  23. Trying to stimulate the economy was a waste of your time, Mr. Dis! Some of your 20/20 hind sight doesn't seem to be that. I think you are smarter than you are admitting, here.
