IS PAULETTE BRADDOCK GOING TO SPEAK TO US?
surepip replied to taylormade703@yahoo.com's topic in Paulding County NEWS
But you will not see her in any sort of question and answer format. She can only repeat her little catch phrases as seen on her websit. Tea Party Conservative [after 8 out of 8 consecutive BOE tax increases she voted for] and Pro-Life as well as her 21 years of business experience [ or how to stick your creditors for $1,000,000 plus and walk away] not to mention the arrest records. No Paulette has her Richardson donations [$2400] and non reported contributions so she will buy the adds and I am assuming a really nasty mailer to hit the mailboxes this weekend. As several of her inner group a -
It was a short cruise. Maybe on Alatoona or Lanier. She was seen on her road, Quail Hollow, the night after the Chamber event, and she gave a phone interview with Galloway from the AJC the morning of the event. I think that may have been an itsy-bitsy, teeny-tiny white lie on Paulette's part that she could not attend because of her cruise. I think her plan is just to lay-low, and let the "R" beside her name try to win it for her, lack of substance, character, or any other issues.

I think Will Avery has done a good job coming onto p.com to answer questions. I did not know no one else was allowed to offer their comments, but to defer to the old salt retired [?] military Fox, I will leave my comments for other threads and topics. Have at it Fox. You have the floor......

I hope everyone considers how hard the parks and rec people like Tena, and others work to pull off Trick or Treat Village. They are off the clock on the weekend and do it because they want to. And many kids and their parents get a unique way of trick or treating knowing it is done by folks who simply do it because they care. Kudos to all the county workers who make Trick or Treat Village an EVENT each year.

Oh, excuuuuuusssssseeeeee me! Mea culpa, mea culpa, mea culpa. I have a reasonable grasp of Will Avery's understanding of the challenges Paulding County has, and I will have to say it is evident you do not. But I will gracefully bow out of offering additional comments or references to the issues at hand. And I sincerely hope you might be able to get our illustrious Republican candidate to offer up some of her solutions to the problems faced by our local taxpayers. But I seriously doubt there will be much of anything from her, and less from you. The tier system as currently

Staying away from p.com AND staying away from all public events and forums set up for the candidates as well as all other public political affiliated meetings since the Primary Run-Offis does very much equal her being "In Hiding". And she is going to continue to stay in hiding. She cannot come on P.com, or address the public at the various forums simply because she has no answers for these types of questions. Paulette has her "Tea Party" buzzwords and some lame fluff, family values, the TRUE conservative BS, and that is about it. There are lots of questions, but I don't think she has a

As per my friend Feelip, "So?". I am familiar with the Tier System and how it has had a negative impact on Paulding. And I had discussions with several of our ex-BOC members when we were trying to get an industrial park instead of another PRD built on the land we had a 1st Option on between 2002 and 2006. I had companies I work with in Brasil and France and Holland who were looking for USA sights and I wanted them to move here. Save me a lot of travel time. The tier rating we have prevented anything in the way of industrial incentives. They are now located in South Memphis, Ms; Tulsa, Ok.

So we have a "D" running who has come on to p.com to answer all questions presented, and has some rather detailed plans put forth on his website, and on p.com for various proposals to help bring industry and jobs [and tax relief] to Paulding. And we have an "R" running who has not been seen or heard from in public since winning the run-off against Daniel Stout and whose website has a couple of "Tea Party" catch phrases and no substance of any kind. Tell your family, friends and neighbors to get involved and educate themselves on the 2 candidates in the District 19 Race for the Legislat

How was Trick or Treat Village this year ? And how big was the crowd ? MrsSurepip and I, along with our teenagers did a booth for 3 or 4 years from church and had a blast. I think it was 2001 that it was FREEZING cold and we were miserable but still had a good time. We used to a jack-o-lantern lit with a small spot light connected to a fog machine and the smoke would come out of its cut-outs. The light and fogger were connected to a timer that would come on for 20 seconds or so every minute. Cute. MrsS used to dress up as a really scary old hag of a witch, and had a big black c

I believe A.D.Frazier, who headed up the Atlanta Olympic Committee is in charge of the Tax Exemption Review Committee. He did a good job with the Olympics and hopefully he can do as well with this. As I understand it, they will turn in their recommendations to the Legislature who will either adopt them as written, or not. No changes or amendments. And I presume there are some for the poultry industry as well. I say this because I recall when reviewing Richardson's campaign donations a year or two ago, in a 3-4 month time frame he banked a MAJOR donation from every single poultry production

So far all Paulette can do it re-iterate how she is a Tea Party Conservative even though she voted for 8 out of 8 consecutive tax increases whilst on the BOE. I guess her idea of a Tea Party Conservative and the rest of the country's idea is a bit differentiated. She never saw or met a tax increase she could or would not endorse. This is a Tea Party Conservative ? Come on out and tell us where you stand Paulette. Even the local GOP now understands they have a Large White Elephant in the room, but are afraid to acknowledge it is there.

There is not another Hub airport South of the Mason-Dixon line that could even come close to servicing Delta's Flights. They have done so well with their International Destinations because of the enormous number of connecting flights available out of Hartsfield to the various destinations from Texas to Virgina. They got the tax break on fuel to cut them some slack after 9-11. They have abused it since, and blantantly showed that by paing the Board members almost $500 million in bonuses several years later. And they "earned" these bonuses for posting the largest lost ever ? Come on

And Delta has had an unfair advantage over AirTrans for 9 years now, and still ended up in a bankruptcy where their Board Members got bonuses equal to their annual tax exemption for posting the largest loss an airlines ever had. There are numerous tax exemptions which were put into place for a year or 2 to help out a company [like Delta] and have since become grandfathered every year. But at the same time, the Legislature taxes away the Homeowner's Tax Credit. Just does not seem right to me.

Paulding, as a Bedroom Community has been negatively impacted by the existing tier system for 10 years now. Because our population soared to over 100,000; and because we are adjacent to Cobb, we are penalized and placed in basically the same tier as Cobb. Harralson and Polk on the other hand have tier ratings that allow them to get numerous benefits from the State to attract industrial growth. The legislation could be easily amended to allow counties with over 100,000; but less than 25% non-residential tax base to move to a tier level allowing more industrial growth. From what I under

I will have to check with some of the CTC Staff, but I believe the Nursing Program is based out of the North Metro or Appalacian Campus. Some of the courses can be taken at the Paulding Campus, but most would have to be elsewhere. With the new Wellstar Facility, it would make sense to have a full nursing program avaiable 2 miles down the highway.

There are numerous tax exemptions in place. Some needed, many not, but they have been kept in place by enormous lobbying efforts paid to many legislators. Delta got their fuel tax exemption worth some 400+$Million a year just after 9-11 when they had been grounded. Several years later they paid their board almost $500Million in bonuses, and then declared bankruptcy and made their employees take paycuts. They have been profitable again for the past few years, but still have their exemption. AirTrans/Southwest gets nothing. You actually agree to continuing Delta's exemptions?!?! And I h

Foxmeister. I assume Mr Avery will reply to your post, but I have to interject you are doing a piss-poor job of trying to just be a devil's advocate. Our last 2 legislative sessions have indeed cut money out of education and thrown that back on the local BOEs to come up with the differences, and counties with a residential tax base like Paulding has indeed put the burden on the back of the homeowners. CTC funding is directly tied to the state. We got our CTC campus to begin with from the efforts of Charlie Watts and Nathan Dean. Richardson and Maxwell [and Heath and Hamrick] did get

The fact that those old rockers are even still ALIVE defies all medical logic. I saw a PBS special a couple months back celbrating Pete Seeger's 90th birthday. Arlo Guthrie, Joan Baez and a lot of that old gang were all on stage. Seeger could still pick the banjo with the best of them and knew all the lyrics as there was no teleprompter. Who says smoking lots of pot is bad for the brain!

So you would rather have Paulette, with all of her skeletons and baggage ? This comes back to that analogy of the voters entering the voting booth and choosing Satan, as an "R" over Jesus Christ himself as a "D", and then proclaiming "Long Live Lucifer" from the roof tops ? Come on dude, let's get real. You really want Paulette as your representative under the Gold Dome ? Really ?

I respect your opinion, and I also met with and enjoyed several conversations with Daniel Stout. And, against my better judgement in my support of Will Avery, I supported Stout in the run-off against Paulette. Why ? Because I knew Paulette would make a terrible legislator, soley based on her tenure on the BOE. Even though I knew Paulette would be an easier opponent for Will, I never the less supported Stout. I don't think you can honestly say Paulette has been attacked by myself, or other members of her such as Whitey, Feelip, etc. or Will Avery and/or Steve Golden. And I can honestly

Have you communicated with Parks & Rec about this ? I understand there has been some joint-venture private/P&R projects done at several parks.
