Anyone else have this cold or bronchitis crud ?
tranquility replied to tranquility's topic in RECENT TOPICS
The strength and duration of what used to be common illnesses has really changed over the last few years. Not a very comforting peek at our future. imo -
Mine is a little different than Feelips. I shred the cabbage and boil it down to soft but still with a little texture (not mushy soft). Drain the water off, add a little olive oil and a spoon of butter, put in a good bit of black pepper and saute. For some reason just black pepper is really good on it being sauted with oil and butter. It's good to put on bbq or roast beef sliders this way too, even goes ok with the horseradish sauce we put on the roast beef sliders. (Sister Shubert frozen yeast rolls)

Congrats on the weight loss ! I love fried cabbage, had I not been running around all day I planned to have that with our dinner tonight too.

Anyone else have this cold or bronchitis crud ?

** Update ** I went to the Minute Clinic at CVS this morning but due to my O2 level at 93 they had to refer me to an urgent care. I went to my doctor and came home with a shot in the rear end to open my bronchial tubes, Theophylline 200mg (bronchodialator), Prednisone and Levaquin 500mg. The doctor was a bit concerned about the O2 level at 93 when I was there also. My breathing is a little better now. I will start the meds in a little while after we eat dinner and hopefully it will start clearing up soon. I have grown quite fond of the whole breathing thing and prefer to keep doing -
We are having Leap Roast with carrots, red potatoes and Sister Shubert yeast rolls. (with horseradish sauce, yum)

If you guys have it too then I'm sorry for you, this stuff just outright sucks ! Is everyone treating it with otc meds or has anyone been to the doctor ? I've never had so much in my chest and even though it is finally breaking up my sister keeps telling me not to let it go into pneumonia. Never had it so I wouldn't know what that feels like to know if it's "going into" that or not. -

Same here, I haven't had anything since sinus season last spring then it was just sinus stuff and didn't go to my chest. -
Last week : Sneezing, sinus junk - Took Zyrtec The next morning it was in my chest, dry head, no sinus issues but my chest felt like one of my buffalo beagles was sitting on me. Short of breath, non productive (dry) cough, I started taking the Walgreen brand mucus relief - expectorant to help the chest congestion break up. It is working, s l o w l y, thank goodness for Albuterol. My doctors office is closed for a few days due to a death in the family so I have been taking otc meds for this but am very impatient and really prefer to not be so short of breath. (It is getting better each d

Question about a post I had yesterday that was relocated
tranquility replied to marvinthemartian's topic in RECENT TOPICS
I hit recent topics then go to the bottom of page 1 and work my way back up to the top. That way by the time I check any new posts or revisit one from earlier the newer posts at the top that are moving up due to new comments being made are easier not to miss. Hope that made sense. -

I am glad to see that she is going to be ok and hopefully she will get to go home tomorrow. Good News.. -
That sounds really good. I haven't made a roast lately, sounds like a good idea for sometime this weekend.

We had rotisserie pork loin thinly sliced on Sister Shuberts frozen yeast rolls with bbq sauce and homemade mac & cheese. I had sweet & hot pepper rings and my husband had banana pepper rings. It was goood. After dinner he had some orange sherbet but I was still too full for anything else.

Ok, I have to ask a question. Do you oil or flour the mug first like you would a pan ? Sorry if this is a stupid question but I'm not a baker. We like cake but rarely make one because 90 % ends up getting thrown away. Thanks.

We love your posts and pictures, glad you are getting used to it but I bet it was hard at first to live in a smaller space. I think that part would make me nutty. I would love to see pictures anytime you have some to share, it sounds so beautiful. Just the word "countryside" makes me sigh with the mental images of rolling hills. Stay in touch and thanks for sharing your experiences with us. -
Maybe him being married for so long could work in your favor right now and wouldn't hurt his feelings. Let him know things are very different than they were 29 years ago when he married. People are very different, times are very different but if he will be patient he will surely find someone that he can see having a "happy, drama free" future with and if she is giving him this much grief she doesn't much sound like "the one". Even just for dating. I hope things work out for him. If the last 12 years of his marriage were bad he sure doesn't want a new box full of the same misery.

Some of us are lucky enough to have found the person we will spend the rest of our lives with and know that they are as much a part of us as the very air we breathe. Through every joy, every struggle and every day, regardless of what it brings, we know we are in it together. To have someone we not only love so deeply but someone we respect, someone we are proud of for their heart, kindness and strength. Someone we still feel excited to see every single morning and every single night, this is truly a blessing. We have been married 27 years and I want you to know I wouldn't change a

At the park on 92, with the tennis courts that is across from the old Regions bank that closed, there is a time and temp sign. At 9:38 this morning the temp read -20 degrees. While out today I also saw 3 buzzards (uuuuugly) in a yard and later I saw a huge ground hog. (He didn't see his shadow but he did see my car and ran, well he moved faster than a walk, he was too fat to run) It was winter and wildlife day.

Tomorrow (Wed.) morning I will go to Sam's and buy some chicken and ground beef. I will break them down in freezer bags if you will tell me how many people are there with you. I think it is a total of 3 adults from what I have read but verify it for me please. I will also cook the ground beef for things like spaghetti, Hamburger Helper, Manwich etc. so you can just pull it out of the freezer when you are ready to cook something with it. This will keep you from having to stand and cook so long to get dinner ready. I will bring Manwich, Hamburger Helper, Spaghetti and Spaghetti Sauce
