  1. Coffee Beans Gathered From Animal's Feces

Crowds in Minnesota are paying $10 per cup for coffee made from beans digested by Indonesian cats and then gathered from their feces, according to a Local 6 News report.

The Civet cats eat the coffee, digest it and then the makers harvest the remnants from their excrement.

"It's a unique product," roastmaster Jim Cone said. "You have to have an army of Civet cats to pick this stuff and process it."

"I'm really interested because of the way that it's processed," coffee lover Bonnie Riley said.

Some drinkers admit the process may be gross, but say the coffee is great.

"It is very rich and soft," Kopi Luwak drinker Alex Danzberger said. "There's definitely a different flavor to it and you can't quite describe what it is. I hate to think what it is but it is very good."

Civets also emit a substance that is sometimes used in perfumes.

Kopi Luwak isn't offered at major chains like Starbucks.

One-pound bags of the coffee sell for $420.

Hey, this coffee taste like S@!t

    Crappy Link

    and another

    Poopy Coffee

The coffee method aside (IMO: that is just gross!), but, where, and how much : crowds in 'Minnesota' and they are paying $10 per cup and $420.00 per pound? So where have I been, since when did Minnesota become home to the rich and brainless...something like this, California, yeah, I could see them trying to come up with 'the new (IMO: gross) fad', but Minnesota, WTH?!?! ....and my next thought: have they never heard of E.COLI?

  2. There was another article I read right at the end of December, but I can't find it now, but in summary it talked about Ga having to high of an income factor for qualifying and thus that led to more enrolees and thus a higher gap/shortage; it mentioned that if they do get continued funding they likely will be cutting the income qualifications. However, I can't find the article now, so either it got pulled because it was incorrect - or - maybe they are trying to keep this part hush- hush as maybe that news wasn't supposed to have gotten out yet...in any event, keep your eyes and ears open out there.

  3. Ok, I had to log on when I saw your post just now...I think the spriits are out in Paulding tonight, and I don't mean the Jack Daniels kind either! Strange things going on tonight everywhere....

  4. ..just came across the radio: WARNING for Coweta County now - that's all they said, nothing more..it sure is hard typing and driving to work at the same time...how DO those people shave or put on makeup while driving...so no takers on the rain rockathon at Bud huh, geez, and it's FRIDAY, go figure, I was sure someone would be on the news for that tonight. Well, later mater.

Wow, they are quick - now the warning is North Fulton and Central Georgia..yak yak yak...someone else will have to post the details as I couldn't get them all.

Oh, one more thing, I'm not really driving (figured that out on your own, did ya?), so chill out about that comment.

  5. Funny...hmm...so looking at the list it looks like the counties near Paulding that are not on it are FLOYD (which would be city of Rome), Cherokee (which would be city of Woodstock), and BARTOW (which would be city of Cartersville) - brain fart (can I say fart on here, oops, I just did!) - why stay here or there and look for this thing, when we can make like the WOODSTOCK days, and go rock out on the Budweister Campus in CARTERSVILLE - I reckon they have 'nough beverages there to go 'round, ya think, after several of those and we'll be seeing our own tornado, real or not - and don't you tsk, tsk, tsk me, because after all, when in ROME you have to do as the Romans do! So follow along little ones, get your mini vans and your VW's rolling, we've got us a Convoy..wwhhheeewww, what a blast from the past, this weather does strange things (shaking my head now to get the marbles back in their rightful holes)..so where was I...funny...nope..I can't come up with anything, sorry, so off to work I go, I go, heigh ho, heigh ho, it's off to work I go....

  6. I stepped out back at about 8:15ish and yeah, it just feels like tornado weather out there, same exact feel as several other days when it's come down and hit around the Paudling and Cobb areas. Dang, and I wanted a weather radio for Christmas, well, since Santa didn't bring it then maybe he'll be blowing the wind the other way today, his off season job. :D

  7. Deputy Lilly's memorial service is today, may he rest in peace and may his wife, family, friends, and co-workers find strength to get through today as well as all the days ahead. ~hugs~

  8. Get one (or two if you say you have 2 dogs?) of those KONG toys - fill it - really pack it in - with biscuits and treats - give it to them when you put them in the room..it will keep them occupied 'working' to get the treats out and they will forget all about being alone - they are great for separation anxiety! But make SURE you get the KONG ones, not imitations - they don't las - trust me - my dogs chewed through the imitations in a few days but the KONGS are going strong months later -the KONGS cost quite a bit but it's worth it! Also, the TRACTOR SUPPLY store on 278 by Cadilac Pkwy has the lowest prices I've found, on KONGS, all kinds of treats, food, etc - if you or anyone has dogs you owe it to yourself to go check them out!

  9. WOW, they say this happened on NOV 7 huh? Well, that WAS election day you know, they must have really felt strong about whoever was running for whatever in Chicago for them to travel that far to vote huh (they must have caught some of the campaign news off of the satellite)! Yeah, they must have missed filing that absentee ballot so they came in person, but left when they saw the lines..or when they realized they forgot their ID card! :D  :p

  10. In case you haven't caught the updated news, they did catch the two guys way earlier today, here's part of the story from 11Alive online, see the link for the full story:

Witnesses say the driver and passenger in the white car ran. Police later arrested the two, 27-year-old Joel Perea, and 23-year-old Maurilio Herrera.

Police say Perea is charged with felony vehicular homicide, hit and run, failure to maintain lane, and no drivers’ license. Herrera is charged with false report of a crime.

The two men are at the Cobb County Jail. Police say that immigration officials have placed a hold on both men.

I'll let you make your own conclusions on that last statement!!

  11. The deputy's name was given on WSB as Loran Lilly (unsure on the spelling). I know several Cobb Co. deputies, but by sight rather than by name. I'm waiting on a photograph to see if I knew him. :(

    ...

The spelling on the AJC is Deputy Loren Lilly, see the AJC article, it has his picture if you want to see if you knew him:

    http://www.ajc.com/metro/content/metro/cob...1231deputy.html

    ...

Did he work down at the jail or up on the hill?

    In the jail.

Wow, on your way to work one minute and gone the next, what a shock! On behalf of my entire family, I send our thoughts and condolences to his family during this difficult time, and to the scene responders too, officers and medical both, for it's not easy responding to this type of call anytime, but it's especially hard when the person is working as one of your own, so thoughts and prayers to all. ~ hugs ~

  12. So 3 young ladies in Panera Aprons were just walking around the parking lot in the AVE and telling people to go eat there and get a free meal, but when you got there, you all - MD and S both - were told it wasn't so? I'm guessing that something went wrong with the communication there, as it's not likely that management would send them out and tell them to tell everyone they ran into 'hey, free meal at Panera Bread" - so they likely didn't UNDERSTAND what they were supposed to do, or just plain didn't FOLLOW DIRECTIONS (or could it be disgruntled employees, already, that's a scarey thought?!?) because that would be the most haphazzard way for any new rest to get people in for a trial run, you don't just invite in anyone you meet, it's got to be planned and organized! So, either that - or the management/owner of that place has no experience whatsoever and you can then bet there will be another empty storefront in a few months time - the public is way to discriminating and there are way to many restaurants already, and as for good bread, they don't have the market cornered on that either. <_<

  13. I have a lot of respect for true police officers, my grandfather was a beat cop in Detroit for over 20 years, I have no respect for the ones that don't do their job and simply stay on the side of the road to catch people going five or ten over the limit and call it a day...As for all of you that say "just drive the speed limit" I am sure that you have never broken it right? Don't throw stones in glasses houses..As for the ND comment I stated it was based on population % so my facts are still accurate the difference is included in the numbers....I wish they would make it harder to get a license in the US, if we went with Europes standards there would be ALOT less issues on the road. I received my ticket, never put up a fight and paid the fine in full as I admit I was wrong...However, dripping Big Mac sauce on the ticket as it was handed to me was out of line in my opinion.

Hey, their wasn't any extra charge on the ticket for the Big Mac sauce, and haven't you heard: there are starving people out there in our land, so they would have loved to have gotten a lick of that, so I don't understand, WHAT'S YOUR BEEF ?!?! :D :p :D ( You walked right into that one, probably same way you walked into that ticket!) :p :D :p

  14. Let me think...where have I shopped in/around Paulding County in the last month and heard an employee of the store say MERRY CHRISTMAS to me...oh yeah, here's the list: The Hiram Kroger ((that's the one in the Kmart plaza), oh, and Kmart too, along with Kohls, Goodys, the Target both in Hiram AND the one on Dallas hwy in Cobb, Lowes (in Cobb), they Gymboree (that childrens store in the Avenue of West Cobb), Belks, WalMart, and even Fred's and BigLots (yeah, I bargain shop a lot too)..and there are probably more but that's all I can remember right now..I guess it's cause I'm so SMILEY that it invites smiles and greetings right back at me! Ok, the halo is off, that last part was just a joke, don't flame me just cause you don't know me or understand my humor, it is twisted at best...but really...from my experience I guess you could spend your money lots of places!! (maybe that's why I'm so broke huh!)

  15. yeah, uh- huh- you say you didn't SEE another topic but I understand, it was early when you posted so you probably had your eyes closed, that's my excuse but I'll let you use it to if you wish...and NO, my comment was NOT anything to do with the popularity of my thread because I also am 'guilty as charged' on duplicate topic posting since I was the one that posted the SECOND topic on this today (and this here thread/topic here being the THIRD), so if anyone had bothered to look around after I said 'LET'S START A 4TH TOPIC", you would have understood the comment, news in the county usually does end up lots of topics on the same subject. Rude, H NO, but you'd rather feel good about yourself by calling me a BI*#*, I'm so sad for you.

  16. Lots of sirens a short while ago, now Police, etc at the Waffle house on Dallas hwy (the one by East Paulding Drive, across from Citizens Square shopping center) and it looked as if they were stringing up yellow crime tape around the building or paking lot, I couldn't tell which - anyone else go by there or hear anything, what happened, what's going on??? Now this is off the road, but still, if you go down Dallas hwy or EPD this morning, this may slow down your commute so just be aware and alert so you don't wreck into someone that may be slowing down to take a look.

  17. HI, thanks for the Pm's and the responses..you know, I had debated for the last 2 weeks, ever since my check was cashed, about asking if others had gotten their deliveries but I decided to wait it out for a bit, so then I finally asked yesterday and since others said they were just getting their deliveries yesterday I figured I'd wait a bit longer b4 going anywhere beside this inquiry on here, and sure enough, earlier tonight, a few hours ago, I got my delivery....so I guess with the Holidays they are running a bit behind...so no harm and if a mod happens to read this they can close this post. Thanks ya'll! ..and now I"m gonna go pop some popcorn. :)

  18. Does anyone on here know who runs the Boy Scout of America Pack 773 that operates here in Dallas, I think it's a Cub Pack? Someone came to my door the first few days in October taking orders for Popcorn for the pack, saying it would be delivered by mid October and it wasn't/hasn't been yet, but my check sure enough has been cashed, just 2 weeks ago (mid November). So now I am wanting to find out if the person that runs this pack knows the person that cashed the check (yes, I have the person's name but I will not post it on here), a check which was payable to the pack, as I'm trying to see if this money actually went to the BSA pack. Please pm me with contact information to the leader of this pack, if you have it. Thanks.

  19. I takes probable cause to obtain a warrant...especially a no knock. That takes solid evidence...not a hunch and a judge has to agree with it. Its a sad situation all around but I am really glad some on here are happy that 3 officers were shot.

    ---------------------------------------------------------------------------

It was not a no knock. They announced and no one came to the door. From WSB.

(WSB Radio) Three Atlanta Police officers are recovering at Grady Hospital after they were shot in northwest Atlanta by an elderly woman.

Deputy Chief Alan Dreher says they were trying to serve a drug warrant at a home at 933 Neal Street just before 8 o'clock Tuesday night.

"As they knocked and announced their presence and forced the door open, it took some type to get the door forced. Once the door was forced open, a female perpetrator inside the premises began to fire at the officers, the officers returned fire," said Dreher.

"As a result of the exchange of gunfire, three of our investigators were hit by gunshots. One of our investigators received a graze wound to the face. He was shot in his bullet-proof vest, and he received a gunshot wound to the left leg. Another one of our investigators received a gunshot wound to the left leg, and the third investigator received a gunshot wound to his right arm," said Dreher.

The woman killed has been identified as 92-year-old Kathryn Johnston. She had lived there nearly 20 years.

Dreher says their agents, who were in plain clothes, have been on the force for some time, and were justified in the shooting.

"It looks like everything was done by the book. They had a search warrant. It was for the proper address. They knocked and announced and they forced the door when there was no response at the door," said Dreher.

Johnston's niece, Sara Dozier of Fayette County, said her aunt was only trying to protect herself from a neighborhood where there is a lot of criminal activity.

"I'm sure she panicked. Just two weeks ago, it was on the news, somebody kicked the door in and yelled 'Arrest: Fulton County Sheriffs.' It was a break-in, a robbery, and I'm sure all of this went through her mind," said Dozier.

Johnston says her aunt never had anything to do with drugs.

"My aunt has never seen a drug, not to mention take one. The lady lived a good, clean, wholesome life, and they go in there and shoot her down like a dog," said Johnston.

"The only thing that is in that house is a laxative. My aunt takes a laxative every other day. She's a firm believer that if you flush the system, the system does not break down. There's nothing else in there," said Johnston.

Dreher said they were serving a narcotics warrant there because they believed drugs were being sold in the house.

"I'm as mad as hell. The neighbors know where the drugs are, damn it, ask the neighbors! They killed her. They shot her down like a dog and I'm upset. Somebody is going to answer to it, because I'm going to sue like hell! I'm going to sue like hell. Let Atlanta know that," said Johnston.

I find it interesting that the post above quote's that woman's niece as already talking about sueing the APD, yeah, she's really tore up over her Aunt's death, so much that all she can think of at the moment is getting money out of the situation. <_<

  20. So most of ya'll think a 92 year old can't be a criminal but a 29 year old can be? Think again, take a visit through a local, State, or Federal jail and you'll see much different, and many of them have not been in there the years it took their hair to turn gray. So until this story plays out we won't know, and we many never know if they don't release the details, but she could have just as guilty as anyone else. And besides, not one, not two, but THREE officers shot so IF she was really alone in that house and IF she was the only one shooting that speaks volumes in itself for their hesitation to shoot back, otherwise, she would have been down when the first one was hit!
