  1. When I tried to call my AT&T (used to be Bellsouth) land line with my Verizon wireless Wed evening I got a wierd message from AT&T saying that due to phone facility problems my call could not go through. Then when I got to the house I found that both my AT&T land line and my AT&T internet was down (caller id showed it was working Wed AM), and when I called AT&T I was told they had a major cable break (?!?) and they said service would likely not be restored until mid Friday (!), however, when I checked the phone at 6AM on Tursday it was working again. Now, the last several days internet has been up and down and really slow (and I have, or supposed to have, the fastest they offer), but, it's been that way since Bellsouth merged with AT&T so I can't say this is anything new, just maybe more frequent and maybe a little more slow then normal these last few days.

  2. I don't know if it's allowed on here to promote an animal at the shelter, but I thought I'd give it a try. If you are looking for, or know someone looking for, a boxer mix there is a great female one at the Paulding County Animal Shelter named Daisy1047B. I don't know how to post pics on here, but her shelter pic doesn't really do her justice; what with being scared and lonely a dog at the shelter does not always show their true color but I happen to know a little background on this one so I thought I'd share in the hopes that someone will read this and make her their 4ever dog!

She was orginally a stray found wandering around I20 by sixflags, she was around 8 months and so skinny every bone in her body showed, but a year and half later she's put on weight and muscle where muscle should be and

she's around 55 pounds. She doesn't like brooms and she'll shy away from strangers at first, I suspect all left over from the abuse she suffered from her days on the street. But give her a chance and you'll find she's sweet as sweet can be, barks only when she knows there is a threat, and to children she actually senses she is 'big' and she'll get down and belly crawl up to them so as not to 'scare them' with her size. She doesn't like the hose, isn't fond of baths (she will tolerate them), but loves a swimming pool . She'll sit and lie down on command, but she does need to be reminded of her manners about not jumping up on people that will come to your house, but she's just so dang excited to see them that she can't help herself sometimes; you'll swear her back end is going to separate from her body one time because she sways to and fro wagging her entire back end so. Put a blanket on the floor at the foot of your bed, and she'll lie content, but if you 'invite' her to jump up in bed with you she'll be more then happy to sleep up there too. She's crate trained, loves those rope knot toys, nylabones, and the small kong toy (especially when it's filled with milk bone bisquits). She's a bundle of energy that needs room to run and needs someone that is capable of playing with her, yet she'll be your lap dog if you let her. She also loves to talk, not bark, but tallk, like ask her if she wants food and she'll respond heartily, sort of cross between a howl and a bay, I'm not sure what it is, but it's amazing to hear. She's also spayed and her shots are up to date until September. She's an incredible dog so if Boxers are your thing then this mix is just waiting for you, that's Daisy1047B!

  3. Well I think you have enough opinions and based on them I have a GREAT idea: find the address and/or phone numbers of one or more of those that said 'FEED THE DOGS" and give that information to to your neighbors, see problem solved, now you aren't having to do it and the ones that said do will do it instead! :D

  4. The reason that I have not listed the breed is b/c we are not sure what breed he is. He looks like 2 or 3 different breeds. We didn't want to get someone's hopes up nor did we want just anyone coming & saying that he was their's. He is very friendly so he probably would have acted like he knew them. He came right to us and we don't know him or his name but he still came over to us. But we figured that he has such a unique look and coloring about him that the owners would be able to describe him. And not that we need to explain ourselves but we have not only looked on Paulding.com but we have also checked with several vets offices and we have called the Walmart where we found him. I would think that if it were my dog and I was looking for him, I would check any posting that said "Lost Dog Found". We never had any intention of keeping him unlike obviously the kind of people that live in your neighborhood. If we wanted to keep him why would I post anything? I would have just kept him but I don't steal other people's pets. I guess we could have just left him out in 30 degree temperatures, starving and in traffic but we thought we were doing the right thing by bringing him home to a warm place with food and shelter. BTW Thank you for proving my point on one thing. The reason we delayed actually posting something is that there is always one person who criticizes people for trying to do the right thing. And that is all we are trying to do. Trying to find this baby's home. I'm sorry I didn't do it up to your standard.

I'm sorry, I was kind of rough on you in my original post and I was editing my post as you were replying as I realized I was rough on you. But also, since you did read my original version, you can maybe understand why I was upset to think that you had this dog for a week and had not done much to find the owner, so I'm more than happy to see that you actually did take other steps besides just looking here (and that's one of the reasons I edited because I thought maybe you had and just not mentioned it). You are on the right track checking vets, but dogs can travel a great distance so it really is wise to notify local shelters too, and since that Walmart is less than a mile in some directtions from the Cobb county line, and both Cobb and Paulding have only one shelter, it really is wise to notify both of them too, and if they tell you to bring him in, then Paulding is probably the one I'd go to if I were you since the Walmart really is in Paulding, good luck, I hope you are able to reunite him with his owner.

  5. So you have kept this dog A WEEK and the only place you have looked is Paulding.com (that is what you said in your post, you did not indicate that you took any other action to find the owners)? This Walmart is not far from the Cobb line, so, PLEASE call the COBB Shelter and see if anyone posted a lost dog notice and also call the PAULDING Shelter and do the same (or take him to the shelter) - every pet owner that really wants to get their pet back will search shelters over and over and over, and then over again, and if they have been searching, for a week, they are probably by now heartsick so don't keep doing that to them.

  6. What kinds will you have 4sale? I bought some windmills and sabo's from you almost 2 years ago, all going strong; the windmills are faster growers than my sabo's (if I'm spelling that right), and even the drought didn't affect any of them, in fact, they actually seemed to do better this year w/o the water (but that could just be because htey are more mature and set).

  7. Hmm, something about this entire story does not seem quite right, so much so that I'm inclined to think that the entire thing has been staged. However, there also has been a story about the surge in homelss vets circulating the news sites, most recently on 11Alive (see link below) so who really knows where the truth lies in this case. At this point, I just hope he is found so he can get the help he needs and then maybe the truth can come out.

  8. HI, thanks for the explanation AP, I didn't know why he was doing that. If he's reporting what he's supposed to be reporting, then he does a great job at it, so great in fact that it just makes it hard to get to anything local on here anymore. But never mind the suggestion for a different forum, as that might make too much sense, instead I'll follow one of your suggestions and put him on ignore. Sigh. Topic closed, my problem is solved.

  9. HI, I've been wondering why you are cluttering up the forums with all those news clips/stories that have nothing to do with Paulding County? I may have missed something as to why you are doing that as I don't come here on a regular basis; I've been around a long time but I'm not one of the 'in crowd', that is, I've seen the popular crowd on here come and go more times that I care to admit but I come around here to see what's going on in Paulding County, to see what the Pulse of Paulding's talking about, but I can go to a host of other sites to get US or International news if I so care to read those stories. Having your topics in the local forums creates a lot of extra pages to go through just to get to the local topics, but I think I once saw a US News forum on here, so could you not post your topics in that forum, or if it's not activated anymore, maybe it could be brought back and you could post away on it and then those that want to read all the non-paulding news topics can review that forum. Just a thought to keep things a little neater and in perspective.

  10. I used to love low country boil, ours usually had crab legs in it, but the last time I had it was early on in '07 and I discovered I had developed an allergy to shellfish, it was not a fun night. Looking back, it must have been brought on by oh so many of those 'all you can eat' crableg buffets in PCB when I spent all that time there, or really, I probably always had it and thought it was 'the sun' causing my issues then. Now, I can't even eat the stuff that's cooked with the shellfish , just a few cold boiled shrimp at Christmas sent me over the edge, as well as any salads that have shrimp or crab in them, funny how things change as one ages, so anyhow, enjoy a dish for me as I know it's oh so good!

  11. Over here off of EPD by Citizens square rd/Lucille, the pressure has been way low for a few years now, it seems like it's been ever since they built that WM but this past year has been really bad; it now takes 4ever for the washing machine to fill up, or even the coffee pot, and as for showers and sinks, no need to have low flow faucets installed cause there is never much water coming out - no leaks, already checked that and continue to check it at least once a month - just crappy county service due to all the added building that has gone on down on Dallas Hwy. The weekends are the worst! And when they finish the new buildings that they are working on over there, I'm wondering if I'll have water at all, so, others around this area, tell me if I'm the only one experiencing this? Anyone else?

  12. There have been two occasions in my life where I have witnessed angels being present and because of those occasions I'm certain that they have been present in my life on other occassions too, but merely went undetected on those other occasions, so do I belive, yeah, you betcha I do.
