  1. Um, I went to the link and yeah, it's dark, and I listened to it, and I thought, HUH?!?! So then I went to your kickthesand.com website, and there is a really nice Christmas message to P.commers out there and some other nice things but no such video as this, so, um, caped crusader where are you, did you perhaps put the wrong video on your link in your OP - I am so confused.

  2. I can't believe you haven't found him yet, I hurt for you! I've been searching the GA goldie rescue sites for you, wondering, have you contacted the GA ones to notify them of Simon being missing in case he turns up there or someone calls them? there are a few out there, but heres' info off one of them for you (I don't know how current this is, it's what is on their website):

    GRRA

  3. One of the interviews I saw about the GA AQ said they expected people to come in, go through, and leave and them more people would come in, go through and leave, and so forth, but, they find people are spending 8 hours in there, laying out on the floor even just staring and watching the fish, so of course, if people aren't going in and going out, it leaves little room for more people to go in..as with most venues, they do have an occupancy limit! Maybe as the newness of the place wares off this won't be the case, but for now, it's just how it is!

Oh, and off the subject, Granny, I think Brian's pic is pretty hysterical - anyone that spends enough time at work on a computer ends up feeling like that at one time or another!

  4. Kids are grown so there's no santa stops here anymore; we waited up for him a few years back, and we told him we appreciated him still coming to our house but that there were young 'uns out there that he needed to get to more than to us old folks, traffic being what it is these days, he understood and was grateful for being let out of the stop and that was that, nice jolly fella, that Santa guy! <_<

As for the non-Santa-family- thing, we try to get together one evening in December whenever we can - doesn't need to be Christmas Eve or Christmas and rarely ever is because of everyone's crazy work schedules - but the important thing is that we get together for a few hours of family time sometime and celebrate the season! Christmas isn't a day, it's about what's in our hearts! :)

    Merry Christmas everyone!!

  6. I'm with Ga Natural Gas, and I don't have all the details of the bill yet, since it just dropped, just the 'new amount due' is all I was able to get to right now - I wish I didn't see that either yet! But wow, someone's is $300 already? Now that I would have to making a trip to the ER over! Mine was $195 compared to $115 last year, and I thought that $80 hike was bad enough!

  7. I just looked at my gas bill on line - dropped yesterday the 23rd - WHOA!!! It is $80.00 higher than last years bill for the same time period of Mid November to Mid December, what a jump! And this is usually the lower of the heating bills as the next 3 are usually the bad months - judging on what I paid last year for those 3, wow, I'm really looking forward to those now :( Has anyone else seen their bill yet, tell me I'm not alone?

  8. In laws? Oh yeah, I HEAR you...my MIL came for 11 days at Thanksgviing! Here's my advice:

Cleaning? Don't stress it - just do the toilets and the bathroom sink, throw the toys in a heap into the corner, close the doors to the kids bedrooms, run the vacumm over the carpets or the broom over the floor, and you're done! What I have found over the years is that no matter how good a job you do it will never be what "they' expect so why bother- and besides, the dirt and dust will always be there but your children are only small once - you will have plenty of time to keep a cleaner house when they are grown, but for now, enjoy your family!

Practice this: mmmm or mmm.mmm.mmmm even in some cases...and use it often to whatever zingers they throw at you - and then walk or turn away for a moment and return with the smile of a pagent queen..I've found it works wonders for them to realize you are ignoring them! <_<

Good luck, hope your little one gets to feeling better soon!!

  9. We went to the Life lights the Sat after Thanksgiving and they were GREAT! And I thought a $5 donation per car was a real down home bargain! We got there right after the night sky went dark, we did not even have a wait - turned right off 41 onto Barclay and stopped just ouside the first turn -the lights were twinkling and a giant Santa welcomed us in as he peeked at us from over the hill, the horses, the carriages, the trees - all aglow - oh what a thrill...then when we drove around the circle at the eagle's nest, oh my what a sight, for there lay the lights in perfect reflection on the surface of the pond..well, for those in my car - we thought it was

    all quite beautiful!!

Now that was the Saturday after Thanksgiving so lots of folks out of town, shopping, whathaveyou - probably lots more traffic now, being so close to Christmas.

I hope you find good lights wherever you decide to go, but remember, the spirit lives in YOU so the lights will only be as good as your spirit is. Enjoy!!

  10. I must have missed the other post - when was she born? CONGRATS!!! She sounds beautiful! For the next 3 to 6 weeks she will be on the ESPP schedule (eat, sleep, pee, and poop!) so she won't even be aware of or notice the hip thing...and the hurt you feel for her, that's just part of you two being good parents!

    Again, congrats! :)

  11. Yeah, they probably have something in place to prevent frequent repeats so as they aren't running a free taxi service for the same folks all the time..now here's a thought: how about this comes with a stipulation that the ride for the repeaters ends at the local rehab center where they get locked away until they are done with the DT's, dried out, and working on their 12 step recovery..ah, but who would pay for that stay then and wouldn't it be bad for BW business, as there's no such thing as a recovered alchi that still drinks! <_<

  12. Do you know about the Perimeter Transportation Coaltion's commuter reward program; Paulding residents are included as one of the 20 metro counties that can get cold hard CASH for commuting options! I missed out on this when I started teleworking because I didn't sign up soon enough - that was a $180.00 loss to me -so check this out to see if you qualify to put cash in YOUR pocket:

    http://www.perimetergo.org/Commuter_Options/CR.html

(if you work at one of the companies listed, click on that link - if not - click on one of the other 2 links - you either work IN the Central Perimeter business district or you work OUT of the Central Permieter area - then read the various rules and regulations for the various programs)

Yeah, it's a lot of reading and filling out forms, but if you qualify - it's free money!

I might also add, as noted on the forms, it is Federal Grant money and there are penalties for fraud..so if you don't qualify, don't even think of applying! <_<

  13. Okay here's the update - Dallas hwy, right lane isn't bad, nor is Cheatam Hlll...scattered patches but IF you are alert and driving slower it's not bad - BUT - do stay off the bumper of the car in front of you in case he needs to stop or starts sliding...yeah...do realize that some people will be driving SLOWER so if that bothers you - leave earlier or STAY HOME! It's so agravating to be driving careful and have the guy behind you hitching onto your bumper.

  14. Calling all you 3Amer's that were out there yesterday, are you out there today? Weather.com says it's 29D here in Dallas now, and 30D in Marietta...news stations only showing interstates...wondering how DALLAS hwy is going into Marietta? Anyone been on it this morning?? What about other secondary roads?

Edited to say: Title should have said 'anyone BEEN out on the roads yet"...hopefully you are not on the roads NOW and typing on here too! :D
