  1. beach Bum I gave you credit for being a much smarter person than his. I do think that Obama could have done things a bit Different though, When he had a majority in the house he should of pushed through the revenue enhancements then that would have pushed the deficit way down much Like Regan did. Spending cuts alone will never bring us out of this. I do give Boehner credit, he did try and get the grand deal, But the TEA PARTY and the Grover Norquist Republicans blocked ever move they made. Now we have a super congress, a drop in our credit rating, and a near collapse in the Stock mar
  2. Here is what Ronald Regan did, And for the most part is exactly what Obama wants to do today. http://money.cnn.com/2010/09/08/news/economy/reagan_years_taxes/index.htm http://www.bloomberg.com/news/2011-07-22/democrats-recall-reagan-s-tax-increases.html Even though Regan did this with a divided government, Todays Republicans and the TEA PARTY would rather see a complete default and a collapse of the economy, Than do what they did for Ronald Regan SIGH ........I hope this answers your questions
  3. You did not answer my question, Not trying to attack you personally, Will you support additional revenue in Paulding to eliminate furlough days here?
  4. Cood post the chart you linked to only covers one month of President Obamas and does draw a stark contrast to Bush and Clinton era thanks for the link you just made my day
  5. I guess you missed this While the housing and credit bubbles were growing, a series of factors caused the financial system to become increasingly fragile. Policymakers did not recognize the increasingly important role played by financial institutions such as investment banks and hedge funds, also known as the shadow banking system. Some experts believe these institutions had become as important as commercial (depository) banks in providing credit to the U.S. economy, but they were not subject to the same regulations.[8] These institutions as well as certain regulated banks had also assumed
  6. Well they certaintly should be able to give a better response than you did. I am dead serious got some examples?
  7. Got a link to the bills proposed from 2000 to 2006 that dealt with this issue? What is your solution?
  8. Got some examples of his agenda that you speak of?
  9. Nature Girl please don’t let facts get in the way of reality. In the year 2006 and 2007 when the Democrats took control of congress the unemployment rate was the lowest of all the years of the Bush presidency, Nothing the Democrats did during this period changed the Bush policies, Yet we had a total collapse in 2008. It was the greed of Wall Street and the Mega Developers that caused this collapse http://data.bls.gov/timeseries/LNS14000000
  10. I must have missed it what has congress did to create jobs?
  11. this http://thehill.com/blogs/on-the-money/801-economy/99915-cbo-finds-stimulus-bill-boosted-job-growth I get it the president does not create jobs, but he gets the blame if none is created ?
  12. I really do not disagree with your post from 2000 through 2008 less than two million jobs were created by the policies of the Bush administration, Heck everybody realizes that beginning in 2007 this recession began. You do know that under Bill Clinton 20 million jobs were created and he did this by increasing the tax liability on the top 2% among other things. To be fair When Obama took office the unemployment rate was 7.8% the last time the unemployment rate was 5.8 was June 2008. And the only thing that Bush asked the Congress to pass was TARP, Which they did and Boehner, McConnell and o
  13. There was no housing crisis under Clinton; the crisis came in the seventh year of the Bush Administration. Since we have settled that can we now find a solution to the present job crisis? I know that you are satisfied with the solution that the Cobb County Commission came up with that eliminated the furlough days for all Cobb County workers Would you be just as satisfied if the State and Paulding County used the same solution? I would
  14. The government was out of the way from 2000 through 2008, And look what happened?
  15. I agree with your answer to my post,I feel as if everyone had a hand in the busting of the housing market. I am not saying to make it easy to by a home through a stimulus for that market. I am saying put people to work in good paying jobs with a stimulus bill for Infrastructure One such stimulus would be several billion dollars now of infrastructure improvements that could begin immediately. Millions could be put to work at once to improve our roads, bridges, and to build reservoirs for those counties that are in need of additional water resources. They would then invest in new or
  16. .I have also been through many recessions, but I have never seen one that has been this severe. The true fact is this was a recession that required drastic measures be taken by the Federal Government to prevent catastrophic collapse of the entire financial system, Wall Street and many other large Corporations in this country. This recession will never end until the housing market begins to recover, And IMHO the housing market will not recovery until the federal government begins some kind of stimulus to enable those who need a home to be able to finance and buy a home. One such stimu
  17. You need to get out of that glass bubble and into the real world He’ll come to my neighborhood which is predominantly Republican and tell them that they are just like a welfare momma standing there wanting her due
  18. Just thinking Hard You wrote "I know too many older folks that are just rabid about their SS and medicare (aide, whichever) benefits. It's just ludicris. "I paid into this system my whole life, I deserve my benefits." I am so happy that most Americans do not think it is ludicrous for the older folks to think that they are entitled to something that they paid into all their lives. After all us old folks did play by the rules laid down by our Government the past fifty five years. We paid our Federal taxes, ,F.I.C.A.Taxes, State, And local Taxes, and, still pay some of them today. T
