Ray Cochran arrested for child molestation
WHITEY replied to gpatt0n's topic in Paulding County NEWS
Wow I never have heard of those details about Perry Grogan. I have also heard of the rumors that you mention in this case against Mr. Cochran. I have stayed out of this thread and probably never should of made the post that I did, But I knew that the Investigation was made aware of before the RUNOFF not as naturegirl had stated. I cannot imagine what these families are going through, And it has to be devasting to all the family members involved. My prayers go out to all involved in this matter,And pray that justice prevail in this matter. -
Nope I am not wealthy like you are. You and I have really hy-jacked this thread started by feelip and I apoligize for doing so.this thread is about So I will bow out of our discussion. Sorry feelip

Over four billion dollars of stimulus has or will be spent here in the State of Georgia. Over two Billion has or will be spent on education in the State, With Paulding County getting in excess of eleven million, Name me one teacher that got a raise in order to receive this money either in the County or the state, Neither did any of them have to take a pay cut in order to receive these dollars, Last year over 300 teachers were retained on the job due to the stimulus dollars. This year over 300 were laid off because the dollars ran out, And some have since been rehired due in part to some additi

Yes I did read them the one that I zeroed in on was the law, And what adminstration passed that law and the reason that law was passed and the political party that actually passed that law, The other links are opinions with no basis of facts that you are contending. DID YOU READ THE LAW?

NatureGirl I am merely pointing out thatt you are not telling the truth and you know that, There has been millions of dollars of stimulus dollars paid right here in Paulding County, No one was required to pay Union Wages for those jobs, They merely paid the prevailing rate, And you know that to be a fact. First you claim in other threads that the stimulus is not creating jobs, And you and some others bash everyone that voted for it. Then you fall all over yourself trying to get some of the jobs that the stimulus has created WTH!!!!!

This issue was raised before the primary,Pubby made a post on this several days before the July 20,2010 -
Naturegirl The bolded statement has no truth or merit whatsoever and you know it. At least try and use the truth if you are going to bash someone. You have bashed the stimulus since day one, Yet you fall all over yourself trying to get some of the work, And then you bash it some more after you get the jobs beacause you do not want to comply with a law passed in 1931 GOOD GRIEF GET A LIFE,If you do not want to pay the prevailing wages, Don't bid the jobs pretty simple, maybe some of your employees can get on with a company that has no problems paying the prevailing wages, Again the unions have

Nature girl I have done some research while I was waiting for you to respond and i will have to admit that I was wrong on parts of my post, I was also correct on parts of my post also....Davis Bacon only requires prevailing wages.... If sheetrock is being hung in Paulding County for say .50 per square foot then that is the prevailing rate for paulding county, No union has set that rate the market has set that rate. On the flip side of this if sheetrock is hung on a major construction job on a highrise in Atlanta at .75 per square foot then that is the prevailing rate in that area, And if you e

Well guess what...... Prevailing wages is not union wages ta da, Did you even take the opportunity to read the links that you posted? The stimulus “is the perfect example of why you need Davis-Bacon,” Eisenbray said. “If you didn’t have it, the contractors bidding for all this federal money could undercut prevailing wages in any given area by 20-30 percent, and they could get the contract and bring down wages in that area.” The 1931 law, written by Sen. James Davis (R-Pa.), who had served as secretary of labor in the 1920s, and Rep. Robert Bacon (R-N.Y.), guaranteed “prevailing wages” as a w

This is the second post today that you have laid partial blame of the problems we are facing today on Unions, and in my opinion you are dead wrong on this issue. You state The Unions by no stretch of the imagination are taking over the job market. Union workers in the United States represent approximately 10% of the work force. I do not know of any business in Paulding County that has Union representation, Do you??? I can guarantee you this, I have seen several stimulus programs around here and they certainly was not awarded to Union shops, here is my challenge to you name some

Will Avery a knight fighting the dark side ? (Split topic)
WHITEY replied to Animal's topic in Paulding County NEWS
Yea and some of Paulette's supporters blasted Stout in the primaries, And left the halo hanging over Paulette’s, head I intend to campaign for Will Avery based on the issues, But if Paulette's campaign gets off the issues rest assured I will respond. Just so you know one of those supporters that can no longer post here that supports Paulette used another web site to post all sorts of untruths about the candidates he opposed, and has said a lot worse things about Will Avery and His supporters than Animal has posted. I will be more than happy to campaign for Will on the basis of Paulette -
What year of his presidency did this idea come up and was passed into law ?
-
I guess you have a good reason for stating what I have bolded? If so what is it? Is there any other rights that you can think of that you would like to take away from the working class people. I am sure you can give me many reasons as to why government employees should not belong to a union?

Paulding County BOC passes millage rate increase
WHITEY replied to LPPT's topic in Paulding County NEWS
I also watched the tape on the other site and was quite amazed at some of the comments coming from a few of the speakers, I also viewed the list of signatures on the petition and was not surprised at all, when I noticed some very familiar names, None of which ever showed up for a Tax hearing under the previous administration when taxes was increased in 2005, 2006, 2007,and, 2008 In addition the same group never did utter one whimper in 2009 when the present administration raised the millage rate to pay for the Watson Complex that was built and dedicated under the previous administration, As -

MEvans you state Have you talked with the "concerned" family regarding this quoted statement? -
Anyone that has lived in paulding County since 2000 can clearly see and understand the voting record of Paulette while she served on the Paulding County School Board,If that is the type of voting record you want representing you in District 19 by all means vote for her.
-
I believe the record will reflect that Paulette has stated that she only voted for one tax increase, My intentions of this entire debate is prove that she is not being honest with the voters, And, in fact has voted numerous times to raise taxes despite the smoke and mirror scheme that you have devised to cover up her Tax and Spend habits. Pigpen In regards to the six questions that you proposed to me about Will Avery, I have no idea how he would answer those questions, Try and give Will a call and pose those same questions to him, I have found him to be very open and candid with any response to any questions asked of him. I can answer some of those questions however as it relates to how Paulette did actually vote on some of those questions if you would like me to? In regards to why I support Will Avery, It is a pretty simple answer, I know Paulette very well, And, her voting record during the eight years that Paulette served

Sales tax and ad valorem taxes are two different things; sales tax is based on a percent of the cost of goods, and can only be adjusted by changing the percent of the tax assessed. Ad valorem taxes, as in the case we are discussing, is based on property values as set by the tax assessor multiplied by the millage rate as set by the taxing authority in this case the school board. Subject to approval of the Board of Commissioners. The millage rate is set by the school board every year to bring in the required dollars to meet the budget that the school board adopted; both of these are vote
