  1. Thanks for the prayers and kind thoughts. She continues to need them but I am closing this thread. It has reminded me how thankful I am for what mental health I do have. Also for family and friends who can focus on the positive in different folks and be compassionate whether we completely agree with them and their actions or not. I am thankful for the positive experiences I have had with Jessie. I am also thankful that over the last year my teens have also opened their hearts to be compassionate to her. She has always returned the positive thoughts we extended with positive in retur
  2. Called hospital and Jessie has been released. We will check at the house tomorrow and see how she is doing. No phone there. Thank you all for keeping it positive
  3. I went to visit Jessie yesterday at the hospital and after the big smile and "hey baby!" I asked her how she was doing. Someone had thrown something at her last week and hit her in the hip That fractured her hip and has left her on bed rest for now. She was waiting on the doctor for an update on other issues. After reading other posts recently, I know everyone has various feelings so please understand that I just wanted to let interested parties know in case they feel led to pray. She does need prayer I am not sharing this to start a negative discussion just to update those
  4. Thank you guys for caring and asking questions. Please do that before spreading unfactual rumors..... those help no one Thank you to Lucky 64 for coming to some of the board meetings and helping stop some rumors from growing. I can tell you just ask the questions and get the answers whether via email or in person at meetings The issue here is rock, septic not perking, and state funding guidelines for classrooms. Please review this powerpoint for information and if you have any questions please email or call the district office for clarification. They are there to help answer co
  5. Brigette brought her community together. She ran the race and WON. Let us all please continue to keep this family in our prayers and honor her memory with contributions to fight the fight for others in our county. She is an inspiration for each individual in PC. It is my prayer that we may all give it our best fight if it becomes OUR BATTLE.
  6. You are so welcome. I know we can NOT make everyone happy BUT you all do have some people who TRULY put our youth first WHILE protecting our taxpayers........ Thank you for the kind words. They are few and far between
  7. Do the Segway tour of South Beach. It is cheaper than anywhere I have ever been and a great way to see the beach and tne South Beach hotels. You will not regret it!!!!
  8. Whether you agree with posters' or not, it is a nice thing to hear what others' are feeling. Let's just try to be polite because I only know of ONE perfect person and it is surely NOT me or any of us...... Let's support our community and our individual opinions!!!! Kim
  9. We can view this as a lost battle or a WIN. I feel that Brigette ran her race and WON!!! She is so much better off than the rest of us BUT it still hurts as we miss her. Please continue to support this family and her friends who have learned what is really important in this life. We need to stand up for one another and make the most of each day we are given. Please do NOT forget the fight that so many in our community are battling. We will each be touched by this dreaded disease at some point in our lives. Brigette and other's lives have showed us how we can step up and help to fi
  10. First, sorry for delay in response AND thank you L64 for taking your time to come to the meeting...... my daughter has said many times they are called board meetings BECAUSE they are BORING to her. They are necessary to try and have some control over our community. I still hope more citizens will choose to attend. I understand that family is a priority and I am trying to work out a plan that can let people sit at home and see for themselves WITHOUT costing our taxpayers a $$$. The dates for the HEARING are March 22 at 6:30 and March 31 at 6:30 at the central office on business 6 rega
  11. I truly believe that there is NOT karma or such as that. Everything happens for a reason and what does NOT kill you does make you stronger and helps you to persevere. I am blessed with two awesome children who are now teens (pray for me) and I may NOT have them had MY other plans succeeded. Thankfully, I am NOT in charge!!!!! It is comforting when others share their loss for some going through this. You think the pain may never get better at the time, but with support and prayer..... it can happen.
  12. Prayers will be lifted up. One can never imagine the pain of losing a child of any age but when you are a woman who shares this loss you have a bit of an understanding. We have a group of mothers and grandmothers at West Ridge that try to help get ladies through these difficult times of grief and the years that follow. Please pm me if I can help in any way or if anyone falls into this category and would like to participate in our special Mother's Day Tea to celebrate these short lives or the grief of infertility. After 16 + years, it still amazes me how many ladies and fami
  13. You know I am so proud of you!!! Still working on mine. I have been uploading photos all day though!!! We will have to be accountable to each other for the progress!
  14. Still so many unknowns. How many days will we end up needing? Winter is not over yet. Hope there will be no more furloughs but........ that depends on state. As far as make-up days...... Some people have plans for breaks, some prefer Saturdays, some support personnel need to get days made up to provide for their families, and most of all we have to make sure our students are given the hours of instructions needed this year. We will try to do our best but can use prayers for wisdom and hopefully no more snow days!!!!! No one has all the answers and we will never make everyone hap
  15. Too many unknowns here to answer..... but I did check. During the flood, it was a state of emergency and we were able to request a waiver from the State Department of Education. It was approved. We will have to investigate if a waiver can be requested currently, and even then, it would be up to the state to approve it or not. When we have more answers, I will do my best to let you know. It is a very good question. Please be safe and enjoy the snow!
  16. To my knowledge, the only event mentioned for rescheduling at this time was tomorrow evening's board meeting. We must have a quorum of board members present to conduct meetings. Thursday evening was the next evening most were available. Other than the board meeting, I am not aware of any other rescheduled events at this time.
  17. Glad you took him there. As I told you, the staff is always friendly and professional! The wait is not bad. Mayfield and her counterparts are awesome at diagnosis and giving patients ample time! Hope both of you are better soon!
  18. Still will pray for you! Glad you finally went to the doctor. I am only a call away for anything!!!! I think some chicken "noodles" soup may be needed. Love you!
  19. I am sorry if it seemed there was bashing. That was NOT the intent. Just trying to put a positive spin on having time with children rather than focusing on the negative stresses of trying to juggle it all. It seemed that some were mad about not having enough time or back up plans. There was nothing I personally could do about that but I can try to make lemonade out of a few lemons. That was the only intent. Sorry. I can understand the frustration of being needed two places at once. I just wanted to focus on the joys parenting even when arrangements have to be changed at the last minut
  20. Thanks to all of you. Again, none of us could do this without a word of thanks or encouragement every once in a while. While others are working to promote their own family's financial future and chose NOT to serve or CANNOT, some people are stepping up to serve and help others' children as well as our community. I am with my children today unexpectedly also and I am going to appreciate every minute of it before they are adults. THAT is why I chose to be a parent. That should always come before $$$$$. God blessed me with them and He will provide for us.
  21. Thank you..... I would have started praying before I got up to leave the room.... then if God told me to go back in and give it a try, I would............!!!!! I would let Him access the situation. But, it is clear that there was divine intervention in that board room. He doesn't make mistakes. It is still unfortunate for all and that man's family....
  22. I thought of that too! Since it is school property, I cannot take my gun BUT I would protect my fellow members and staff too!!!! I better make my purse a bit heavier and learn to kick hard if I miss!!!!! It is a thankless service unfortunately BUT I know a few peeps appreciate!
  23. I will definately pass the information to the central office and citizens are welcome to do so also. The organizational chart of administration is on the PCSD site for any concerns that need to be communicated. Thank you for your understanding.
