  1. LisaC, Here is a fairly full list and as I think of more to add to my website, I will let you know there is an update. I have a couple more pages of information that will be added this week. Thank you for your interest and patience. It was in Word format so it may not paste perfectly but here it goes...... Following are a few of the school district's challenges/successes over the past three years: (Please keep in mind this is not an individual effort. This list is a summary of items achieved and would NOT be possible without our district staff, superintendent, leadership team,
  2. I did not take it the wrong way I understood what you were communicating and greatly appreciate it. There are many limitations to the position and I respect those limits and do my best to remain within them.
  3. Thank you so much!!! Glad you clarified "my capacity." I do believe that is one of the unfortunate misconceptions of citizens. Elected board members have defined limitations are are NOT to interfere with the daily operations of a school district (example Clayton County, etc.). We do NOT work at the central office and many times are unaware of concerns unless they are communicated. When given the opportunity, I do my best to direct concerns to the correct individual who has control over the daily operations regarding the specific concern. I'm finally signing off for the night. Sti
  4. The last campaign left me over $800.00 in the hole. I can use donations from $1.00 to $3,000.00.... that being said, $$$ should NOT determine the outcome of any election. The proven passion and commitment of the candidate needs to be what determines the individual to hold any position. The concerns of the public and the issues involved need to remain the focus of any campaign. I believe that is especially true when we are discussing school board positions. Our community's children need a voice in the factors that determine their future. Someone who will unselfishly volunteer the n
  5. I do not believe any board member thought the superintendent's recommendation to change the cell phone policy was "necessary". We did however learn from some success stories that the proper use of electronic devices especially in high school level studies can be extremely beneficial when used properly. In order to remain current with technology, and without taxpayers' $$$ being used, it allows teachers and students to work together and apply the information available on the internet. Students today can find processes and answers to almost anything on the internet. What they usually need
  6. Thank you for your support, confidence, and vote. I do understand and I still listen to the concerns of employees, students, parents, and taxpayers on a daily basis. Your vote is appreciated.
  7. If there is a debate that I can participate in to represent the views of the 140,000 citizens of Paulding, I will be there. We have 28,000 students, over 3,000 employees, and a 140,000 population. I think they ALL deserve the facts. I have NOT been invited, as of yet.
  8. Here are the first few accomplishments.............. 1) I supported requesting the renewal of the SPLOST BUT ONLY if it would be used for property tax payer relief as a priority. The board voted to use SPLOST funds to reduce past bond indebtedness and reduce the bond portion of your property tax bill. There were initial plans to use funds to sell more bonds and spend $$$ on technology (that would quickly become obsolete). I would have never supported more spending taxpayer SPLOST money and risk more debt during these economic times. 2) I researched and suggested that student
  9. Thank you. You also brought up a very important point of information. PLEASE LET EVERYONE KNOW !!!! Any registered voter in Paulding County DOES VOTE on each and EVERY SCHOOL BOARD member regardless of where they reside :yahoo:
  10. Thank you for your patience and understanding. I worked on campaign and school board concerns until 1 am and then was up again at 6 am to start with the signs, etc. I have my list on its first draft already but more information continues to enter my mind. I would also like to add some key figures and documentation for review.
  11. It was great to put a face with a name Lowrider I have seen you around the county where our youth are involved. Thank you for your support and involvement
  12. Thank you for the kind words. I cannot take personal credit for your glimmer of hope. My parents and grandparents taught me at a young age that we are placed on this earth NOT to glorify ourselves. For that, I will be forever thankful. I know where my HOPE comes from and trust me without that, I could do NOTHING. I encourage everyone to use the gifts and talents they have to make a positive difference in the lives of others and the community.
  13. Oh No, It was so nice to finally meet you!!!! I left your house and went to Lowrider's so they have some over their way also!!!! Thank you for offering though!!! Kim
  14. LisaC, Thank you for the issue related questions. Today has been a busy day of delivering signs, etc, and I would like to thoroughly answer your question. Please allow me time to generate a list of the board accoplishments and the goals for you. I hope to at least provide you a partial list by tomorrow afternoon if that is suitable. Thank you again for being an informed voter.
  15. AE, I really appreciate it. It has not been an easy term but I have given it 100% and will continue to do so. Thank you for the vote of confidence.
  16. Vinny's Smart Store has allowed me to leave a few signs there available for pick-up. The store is located directly beside the Bumble Bee Bakery on 92 in Hiram. Bumble Bee address is 1948 Hiram Douglasville Hwy Hiram GA 30141
  17. Thank you. As with any profession, the majority of our county's teachers provide more than we can ever compensate. Please know that you are appreciated
  18. I put a few signs out today and came back home to fit more signs in the vehicle. Thank you so much for your support and spread the word PLEASE!!!!!
  19. Thank you. I have a meeting this morning but I'll be loading my old signs in the truck today and making a few rounds this afternoon. I will also try to leave a few signs for pick up around the county for future needs. I will be away from computer and pcom, but email or call my cell if you guys need me
  20. Thank you Animal and NJ. Every voter can cast a vote for each school board district so PLEASE vote for each seat !!! I do NOT ask which part of the county you live in when I am contacted (nor do I think any member does). We want to fairly represent the entire county without fear or favor. So any concerns can always be directed to each and every board member not just the one who resides in your area.
  21. Thank you. I promise to continue to help inform and guide anyone who has questions. Knowing I do NOT have all the answers but we can find out together when necessary Just let me know where you need your sign
  22. Thank you all. If you know any landowners or businesses that would be willing to allow signs, please let me know. All signs are to be posted off the right-of-way on private property and I want to abide by the ordinances to keep our county beautiful. Please remind your friends and neighbors to vote and encourage them to contact me with any questions!!! Have a blessed week
  23. Thank you Lucky. I am praying that my last 3 1/2 years of actions will get me a few more years to continue. Cannot afford to spend too much $$$$ on signs to get votes !!!! Word of mouth is appreciated.
