  1. Thank you very much. I will make sure I get them to you tomorrow
  2. I want to thank you all for allowing me to represent Paulding County's students, employees, and taxpayers for the last 3 1/2 years. We still have goals to reach so I need your continued support in the upcoming election on JULY 31st. I have a passion to serve our community's youth and volunteer numerous hours attempting to make a positive difference. Whether it is in the board meeting, Paulding's Childrens' Cabinet, School District activities, or community functions, I do my best to be both present and active. Serving our community is a priority to me. I had to resign my employment
  3. I was not on the school board at the time of this decision. But, if I remember from the board meeting discussion, it was donated by a developer. That is if memory serves me correctly. The location was to assist with the large developments in the Cedarcrest area. Mr. Otott oversees district operations and would be the best individual to correctly address the question. He can be reached via district email or the central office 770-443-8000. Hope this helps !!!!
  4. You are correct that the Central office tells the board what they want us to know. HOWEVER... There are numerous individuals employed at the "central office." In my personal opinion, it is NOT fair to lump ALL individuals employed in ONE location and label ALL of them crooked. That is why it is VERY IMPORTANT for individual concerns to be discussed though the correct channels and then, if you are concerns are unresolved, you contact your elected board or ask to address the board at a public meeting.
  5. huh? Unless the citizens provide the information, we only know what the district wants us to know. I am sincerely NOT sure what you mean but you know how to reach me.
  6. Posters...... Please email or call me with specific concerns. As always, I want to do what is best for 28,000 students, over 3,000 employees, and our 140K citizens (taxpayers) BUT specific details are necessary to dig deeper. I CANNOT make unfounded accusations and disrupt the positive progress that is being made with undocumented accusations My contact information remains after every post as it has for years....very few have contacted me with specifics to question. I cannot ask that which I am NOT aware of Thank you to those who have
  7. I can only address what I have personal knowledge regarding (I am sure there is a good amount I am NOT aware of). I have been in this county 14 years so I am NOT a "good ole" anything. Having worked in the district, I have very close friends. But, I can promise you that they know I keep every individual that contacts me on the same level as to avoid special treatment. If an individual chooses to work in our system, it is my opinion that we give each of our 28,000 students our best efforts. It should NOT matter if they are in the top 10%, bottom 10%, or somewhere in between. There is $
  8. AMEN. No one person or board is correct ALL the time but our board does sincerely make the effort. It is NOT enjoyable to take anything away from deserving individuals. But, if it is NOT there to give???? Then what ????? We have some great educators!!!! But we have fewer $$$$$ each year.
  9. Trying, thank you for your positive perspective.
  10. You are very welcome. Thank you for the opportunity. That is what I attempt to do when given the opportunity, at least explain. So many things get misunderstood in communication, etc. The ELECTED school board duties are to hire and evaluate the superintendent, the budget, and set and FOLLOW policy. It is NOT legal for us to question daily operations or school level decisions. Those concerns would be directed to Mr. Cole and his leadership team.
  11. Policy is something that the board CAN actually change. I encourage you to follow the guidelines to speak before the board to review any policy that you have suggestions regarding. The facts and figures properly presented have the weight to make revisions when necessary. I encourage involvement.
  12. The rules and LAWS keep changing. There are very strict limits to any position. Other school boards in our state have shed light on these legalities. I am thankful that this board is trying to remain within the legal limits of the LAW. Mr. Curl included.
  13. Thank you for attending the meetings Lucky. I know we cannot always agree but I know you appreciate the truth and know that I do listen and really care about what is best for 28,000 students and not just a certain few. Amen and Thank you!!!! Thanks for the vote of confidence.
  14. I do my best to give an explanation. Please give me the benefit of the doubt again. I'm not being a smart rear, I promise. When I answered Lady Raider it was a general answer. I did that because I did NOT have the specific details or answer at the time and did NOT want to want to misquote anything especially board policy. I did NOT give a time period or any details. That is why I don't. I would prefer to forward specific questions via email so that if I do not have immediate answer, it can be researched or forwarded to a district employee that can assist. I do not work or hav
  15. When the SO's investigation is closed, then the school processes normally begin. Why should this incident be any different? It involves 25 times more students than the usual investigation but it is expected to take the same amount of time? Go figure that math? I'm done here. I tried We agree!!!! See it does happen sometimes lol
  16. Only certain district employees are qualified to answer specific concerns. Others would be guessing which leaves us in the same boat. I would rather try to direct the question you asked me to the correct person. My answer that you determined was a blanket answer was to Lady Raider's post. If she has a problem with it, she will contact me directly NOT via a thread. It was NOT BS. "Too bad you didn't think before you answered". ?????? No comment. As far as asking if your child was involved? I thought that was a pertinent question. At the present time, I would think it import
  17. Please email me and I will forward your email to the district office. We can request someone STOP what they are doing ......and send this information (if it is not in the handbook or online) . Is your child involved?
  18. There are appeal policies for serious offenses
  19. It's ok Happens all the time
  20. It takes much more time for the sheriff's dept and the school system to investigate 25 or more students than one or two. I would rather them take the time to be thorough than to make quick decisions. Due process. Jmo
  21. I understand. Since you have been able to attend many board meetings you have an better understanding that the school district administration and the school board are two different entities. The board does not oversee day to day operations. We are charged with evaluating the superintendent, approving the budget, and district policy. The district office oversees operations. Sometimes this is all the cause of much confusion with the public. I try to explain it when I'm given the opportunity.
  22. Thanks for the clarification. I did try to read everything. There is soooooo much to read !!!! I understand and that's why I said disappointed, not angry. There are always sooooo may different perspectives. I want to give 100% effort but even that is not enough . Thank you for your positive involvement in our district.
  23. Lucky, When have I ever NOT listened to any of your concerns? I am a bit disappointed. I cannot always legally comment BUT I DO spend my personal time (as I am today) to listen and acknowledge the concern. I do NOT always agree. But, I do listen and take every viewpoint into consideration NOT my own. I do my best to be consistent in my votes. For the most part, student discipline is the responsibility of the school administrator. The school district gets involved with tribunals. The elected school board gets involved only with appeals. Sorry if that is considered fooling you.
  24. Thank you for the positive words. I cannot take credit though. God gave me a few talents and a big heart and my folks loved me and discliplined me accordingly!!!! I just remember the GOLDEN RULE and try to treat everyone the way I would want to be treated. Notice the TRY part. Cannot always fix everything but listening and being available for vents is part of the service Just wanted to say you are very welcome and I will continue to give it my all!
