  1. I use dat Ortho Bug-B-Gone. I have no idea if it'll kill a dog. I broadcast it over the whole yard. It works very-very well. In addition to clearing the yard of far aint's, it kills those GD gnats--the yellow-ish ones and the black ones. I have a suspicion that fire ants have learned to live under asphalt, negating the need for a mound.
  2. Are you and your wife playing to the same sheet of music?
  3. Ha! I get it! You said "think".
  4. My great gran' mamma had a liddle bit o' injun in her--about 5 inches of it.
  5. I often wonder why the Internet opinions about MJ aren't reflected on election day. It's been a long time since I've seen an online poll not in strong support for 'legalization'. Putting people in jail for doing MJ is STEWPID! MJ is probably the biggest, easily solvable problem America has. I sincerely believe addiction rates would plummet if MJ were decriminalized. Change has to be reaching critical mass any day now. When enough oxen are gored by this stupidity, change will flash, virtually overnight.
  6. ...right animal; wrong continent.
  7. Without voter qualification, this issue too is about popularity. What should be tried toward development of [direct] non-pertroleum propulsion cannot be debated. No issue can be debated. The "debates" on TV are insults to those who can debate. I'm not saying politicians don't know how to debate. I'm saying they can't debate; it's political suicide to allow ones position to be determined by facts and figures. A lack of meaningful voter qualification is the worst problem America has.
  8. Furthermore, Langley's 'aircraft' did have government support and was a conspicuous failure. P.S. What the Write brothers did was ACHIEVE controlled flight--they didn't really originate their combination of roll-pitch-yaw control. Indeed their wing warping idea for roll control was un-developable. Though an achievement that deserves to be remembered forever, it was a technical dead end. P.P.S If the above isn't enough consolation for PUBBY: from the Write brother's spark--their idea--the French are the ones who 'flew' with the aircraft. They optimized the aircraft forms a

  10. Look again. I enhanced it for the comedy challenged among us. <face palm> Don't tell me you dit'n see the Transformers movies. </face palm.

  12. They don't call him Starscream for nothing, you know. I bet it was crazy; sparks flying.
  13. IMHO, the keys to the electric car taking off are two things: 1) The electric car industry and marketing should focus on the EC being a suppliment to the real car in the commuter role. Cost has to be low. People have to be eccouraged to give up things they don't need in a car that's just for getting back and forth to work. Design a bare bones car that will actually save the customer money instead of adding cost. The EC needs to be within the reach of the not-rich. 2) Put charging equipment at work so the much cheaper current (no pun intended) technology's range is effictively DOUBL
  14. Letting the slackers decide what to do with the achievers' money is as stupid as letting young people (whose brains, by your evidence, isn't yet developed) decide whether their potential deaths are of national value. Your rebuttal serves well to illustrate why a lack of meaningful voter qualification is by far and away the biggest problem this country has. It's probably the biggest problem any republic can have. In my opinion, the deterioration of voter qualification is the biggest victory won by our rivals and enemies. PUBBY, You'd better get in here and deflect this conv
  15. About 30 yo. Maybe it's the same for everyone, but I sincerely think my mind didn't fully develope until I was about 30 yo. I would enthusiastically support legislation to change the minimum voting age from 18 to 30. (Of course the Left, especially their handlers, sh*t bricks with even the mention of the suggestion. Y'all go ahead and let the subjective 'reasons' roll for leaving it at 18, or even lowering it.)
  16. I argued with my wife all through the movie: "There ain't no way 'at's the Hawnkey Tawnk Man! Ain't no way!" (God, I hate that song.) He was brilliant! He played the redneck too well. Gave me chills and reminded me of people I know and grew up with. Sling Blade is easily the most technically accurate movie about White, Southeast, Rual culture (mannerisms, inflection, slang, euphemism etc. etc. etc.) ever made. No other movie is even worth watching in this regard. It wasn't converted to some marketable and pattatable rendition of the way my people are. (Sad that this technical exce
  17. My wife got an......Andriod-something, 4G. The latest bells and whistles about 6 mo ago. She prefers her old 3S over the 4G whatever it is. I don't think she's used 4G service on it though. Apple phones are god sends to electronically illiterate people like me. It's like it reads my mind. Have you had an agrument with Siri yet? I have! It was funny! She has a hard time understanding me, but sh'e getting better. I can almost trust her to send text messages without reading them to me first before sending it. It transforms texting while driving from something very dangerous to being
  18. Yes, but have you noticed faster battery drain now that you have, and are using 4G service? I presume up to this point you had been using 3G service on your 4G-capable phone. I'm wondering if it's as simple as 4 is 1/3 more then 3 and so, does it drain the battery 1/3 faster? (I'm probably asking an utterly stewpid question, but I know less than nothing about electronics.) I'm glad your happy with the speed. I hesitated getting a 4S because it's 3G, but my 3S was also 3G and it streamed movies just fine. For my needs, I couldn't see needing anything faster than streaming video capabi
  19. Good topic. I don't have experience to share. (I have a 4S and and am deeply satisfied with it. Contrary to popular belief, the 4S is a 3G phone.) I'm interested to know how much your battery life is impacted if at all.
  20. It ain't got no gas in it. True story: neighbor brought over her weedeater that wouldn't start. I so dearly hoped it was out of gas so the above quote would be appropriate. Indeed, it was out of gas! However, the gods conspired to ruin the moment; she hadn't seen the movie.
  21. You climb obstacles like old people .... [paraphrased I think] I wear a 6, but a 7 feels so good I go ahead and buy 8s.
  22. I tried to vote down my own post, but it won't let me. But you're right, skinny people and fat people both litter. The picture I tried to paint is what other reasons would lead to people throwing out their sacks if not simply abject laziness?
  23. <ssssssssnnnnnnnnnniiiiiiiiiiffffffffffffffff> "I LOVE the smell of [irony] in the morning!"
