  1. Discussion might, Pubby, but DEBATE runs on reason. Debate has rules, discussion does not.
  2. Strawman, pubby. The truth is that I require a person's opinion TO MAKE SENSE before it matters. I don't buy into the everyone has an opinion, which implying that everyone's opinion matters. Like I've said before, if everyone's opinion matters in a discussion, then so does everyone's asshole matter. And note that just because a lefty has the guts to explain his/her position doesn't mean that he/she passes the sensibility test. Do you really not understand that? ...That debate runs on reason and not opinion?
  3. Who are "us?" It is their duty to print the truth. Unfortunately, it is their directive to sell advertisements. From this, a business stratgey has evolved where it's necessary to incite controversy in order goad people into watching/reading. Nothing is news worthy that either is not already controversial, or slanted (without lying most of the time) to be controversial. And one more thing: the more people the unabated Leftist reaches, the more good he does for the country. The last thing I'd want to do is clog the sewer by gagging the lefties. People need to be exposed to
  4. Well, if they hadn't been swinging, then that would be something to really talk about.
  5. I was wondering when you were going to do that. You don't own the code that runs this Site?
  6. I think it's funny that there are two guests looking at this page right now.
  7. (You know who,) does this mean I'm not on ignore any more?
  8. Dreamwriter, Except for extraordinary circumstances, I don't respond to personal messages about subjects being discussed on this Board.
  9. I'm not nearly so optimistic. Their rhetoric has greatly extended beyond the face-saving line. Sincerely, and assuming they're as sincere--one isn't IMHO--they'll need scripture which supports y'all's position to be able to come back with their current identities. (I sincerely hope these two are salvageable and that constructive PMs are sweetened with supportive scripture.) See, they have stated that entry into heaven (to put in simplisticaly; hoping not to insult) requires them to be the way they are. ...Such is the outrageousness of their positions. Trolls or sincere Witnesses, th
  10. That ain't unpopular. That might be true, but a person would need to know them personally to know it's true. I don't know either of them from Adam's house cat--at least I assume I don't know either of them. I'm convinced one of them is a troll and gets a kick out of freaking-out religious people, or attempts to paint religious people--Christians--as kooks. The other might be...I won't say. Nonetheless, it's impossible to tell, without knowing them, whether they're...uhm...sincere, or just giggling, little trolls. I'd have suspended them for trolling without regard to topic--sam
  11. Not once that I can recall. I'm as likely to click on a banner ad out of the blue*, as I am to listen to any sales pitch. * Out-of-the-blue = I have narrow interests as far as ads go, so, it ain't likely that an add will fit into my interests. If the ads were geared toward my interests--guns, ammo, hunting, fishing, outdoor technology....patriotic subjects (couldn't resist)--I'd click on them/it.
  12. You are the one bringing politics into this, not me. And Pubby, your pretention to be non-partisan is still, and will continue to be laughable. Spin? I simply comment truthfully with demonstable opinion, and it's spin. When a Conservative shares an opinion--shared by others who happen to be smart enough not to divulge it herein--it has to be spin when the Liberal can't sensibly counter the opinion. To pile on in this atmosphere with a virtual gag order on dissenting opinions is at least as tasteless as my decision to voice my opinion, but for different reasons of course. My prodigiou
  13. Fair. In my opinion, she deserves to be honored for the reasons you cite here, and not because she was "killed in the line of duty." Again in my opinion, that level of honor should be reserved for the POs FFs etc. who die violently while/for protecting others. Peace apsmome. And sincerely, thanks for putting up with me...I sincerely mean that.
  14. No one. People only care about their own popularity and or the popularity of their friends, family and associates. I don't pretend for a fleeting moment that anyone cares about my opinion or popularity. What have I done? Does it really matter to you right now? I have thought about being a PO or FF, and it didn't take long to realize I did not want to be either. And for whatever it's worth: I don't know anyone who's been forced to be a PO. Let's see. Which is the more violent death? Sitting in a classroom and being fatally wounded by an instructor
  15. Cold? Regretibly, yes. Feel[ing]? Absolutely not--no feeling involved in arriving at my opinion (I'm sure you'll agree with that, but for entirely different reasons.) I am merely commenting on the reality of the situation without regard to my popularity on this board. She died as a result of a negligent discharge. That's the tragedy. I feel just as badly for the guy and his family who allowed the negligent discharge as I do for the family of the girl who was killed. No. I really do deeply feel sorry for these people. Because I'm not alowing my feelings to form my opinion,
  16. Mark, Do you really mean what I hilighted in red? Really? Do you mean to tell me that an officer killed in a non-violent, classroom atmosphere dies just as valiantly as an officer killed in a shootout? Come on Mark. That's a silly statement. You're a more reasonable person that that. I know it won't enhance ones popularity to agree with me, but, am I wrong or just a mean and insensitive a-whole? Personally, I'd rather be thought of as a reasonable person that a nice person.
  17. OK, I'll say it: Being accidentally shot in a classroom isn't what I'd call "dying in the line of duty." It's sad, it's tragic, but she didn't die in a shootout or a car chase with the enemies of society. I think to jump through our butts and to climb over each other to honor this person in the light of "ultimate sacrifice--" dying in the line of duty--reduces the recognition of those who really did die violently while protecting others. I genuinely and sincerely appreciate her desire to serve, but we may as well have the same reaction for those officers who have died in car wrecks, while
