Ok, I did a system restore and it seems to be ok. Dang! I'm not going to try to download any more crap. Can't do without my laptop, my tower to my desktop is fried and I need to find a new tower. The hard drive is fine. I wonder what happened? AND where is a good place to get a tower? Micro Center in Marietta?

The weather watch was upgraded to a WARNING at 3:38AM TUESDAY MORNING. I knew. The weather folks knew, but our government couldn't make the decision. I did. Kept the 4 YO home and checked the high schooler out at 10:00AM. -
So I decided to download the link to the scanner posted on here. It also loaded a bunch of junk. So I uninstall 3 programs and restart my laptop. Now I can't get it to load except in safe mode. What have I done? Help!

. IKR? I'm so sick of this cold weather. This is the deep South, 4 degrees. Really? I can't wait for Saturday and Sunday to get here! Supposed to be at least 60!

This is what I posted in the other thread........... Thank goodness we had gas for heat and cooking. I remember hearing lots of trees fall. And where were you during the Ice Storm of 1973? That was horrible and changed the way a lot of things were done down here in the south. One was cutting back trees from power lines. We didn't have power for a week, we couldn't leave the house for days and had to go shower at a friends house. That was a rough week. On January 7 and 8, 1973, Atlanta and areas of north Georgia were hard hit by one to four inches of ice that

Um, thank you. Obviously you know more than I do. -
I always pee before I get in the car, and make everybody else! LOL I had been watching this storm alert since Sunday, I even posted it on here and everyone was so blaze about it. I never take the weather for granted and we were prepared. Kept one grandkid home and checked the high schooler out at 10 when the snow hit, when FOX5 said it would, so he could drive home safely. P

I would like to know where all the Board members were yesterday when buses were crashing, bus drivers were stressing, children couldn't get home and teachers and staff were doing everything they could with what they had. -
That is so sad. I've seen two houses burn (not mine) and it's so sad seeing everything in that person's life go up in flames.

LOL Bless your heart, I was praying for you!!

We had gas for cooking and heating. And I know about closing off rooms to keep a small area warm when a winter storm hits. I was working for Southern Bell when SNOW JAM '82 hit. I knew a storm was coming and had been listening to the radio all day. As soon as I heard it was snowing in Carrollton I went to my supervisor to let him know I was leaving, a snow storm was coming. He told me no, I wasn't. I said yes, I was and he said he would write me up if I left. I told him to start writing.......I swear I remember that short little d*ck head just like it was yesterday. Anyway, By th

You know, I don't know the logistics......... What in the hell did he buy it for if he can't use it? (Not directed at you, but anyone that can answer that question, what exactly is going to do with all that new equipment? Let someone steal it like they're doing at the Atlanta Water Department? Taking everything that's not nailed down.........sorry, I'm rambling) Does the state have the equipment? Why didn't they do the interstates. And yes, they screwed up. It's amazing to me the largest city in the Southeast with the country's busiest airport can't get their folks out of th

Have you folks forgotten that quickly? The ice storm January, 2011? Kasim Reed purchased how much equipment so this wouldn't happen again? And yes, with that new equipment all they had to do was pre-treat EARLY yesterday morning. I saw the forecast, it was coming and it was coming at 10:00. They didn't see that? They're blaming the forecasters. Seriously? They got this one all wrong. At least by pre-treating they could have moved folks on the interstates and main roads and it might not have been as bad as it was.

I've done the same thing concerning school and work. It's ultimately my decision to do what is best for me. I've stayed out of work before to avoid this kind of situation. I didn't go to work for 4 days in the 2011 ice storm because I couldn't get out of my driveway, the streets or the road leading out of my s/d. I consider a wreck much more expensive than a day of work, or 4.

Wrong. Been there, done that in 1982. I took responsibility for my grandchildren yesterday. The little one didn't go at all to PRE-K and I checked my oldest out at 10:00AM, when the snow started, which BTW, FOX5 said it would begin at 10:00AM. The governor, the mayor and the school boards made a very bad and costly mistake. But I made the decision for my grandkids.

They're showing live pictures on FOX5 of Thornton Road south bound. It is totally blocked with abandonded cars. No one is going any where south bound. The north bound lanes are moving very slow, but they are moving.

Well, dang! I thought it was my reading comprehension!

The governor and mayor of Atlanta have been on TV for two hours now.............playing the blame game. They didn't know, or the national weather forecast was misleading, and the best one.....Kasim Reed said everyone went home at the same time. Dismissal times need to be staggered. Really?
