4th Circuit rules against Trump's Muslim Ban
Foxmeister replied to stercus tauri's topic in RECENT TOPICS
The EO did not drip with religious intolerance, animus, and discrimination as the court claims, as not all Muslims were banned by the EO from immigrating to the US. The order was not vague in context to how it applied to national security either as the six countries on the list were identified as countries with a heavy influence of ISIS and al Qaeda, as well as both terrorist organizations stating they would infiltrate western countries to include the US through those countries' refugee programs. The EO was no placing a permanent ban on Muslims from those countries either as Trump was clear -
Explosion in Manchester, England, at Ariana Concert
Foxmeister replied to stercus tauri's topic in RECENT TOPICS
Well, if he told you what it was, it wouldn't be a secret anymore. Seriously though, his trip to the Middle East is a pretty good indication of what is coming. You probably weren't paying attention though. -

Chris Cornell Soundgarden and Audioslave Frontman Dies at 52

The last song he played at the Detroit concert was Led Zeppelin's "In My Time of Dying." Indicates to me and others that he had already made up his mind to kill himself that night. Sad. -
I met him one time in 2005. It was supposed to be a pcom meet and greet, but besides us, only he and his wife showed up. We talked about 30 minutes and then left. He and his wife seemed pretty nice.

I am so sorry to hear this about him.

Poor guy. It seems he spends almost as much time in the hospital as he does out of it. I hope he has a speedy recovery.

Demographic patterns in every Georgia county, 1990-2050
Foxmeister replied to Brian's topic in RECENT TOPICS
Any idea how easy it is for illegal immigrants to buy fake IDs that are hard to tell from real ones? I work in Hall County and deal with that problem when we're hiring. -
How can it determine demographics when the users are anonymous and not providing the data? Bots are a good thing for inflating data, that's for sure.

Military Operation Ordered without Due Diligence
Foxmeister replied to stercus tauri's topic in RECENT TOPICS
You're making a huge assumption here. CENTCOM stated they had the information they needed to make it a successful mission. Based upon that, they were given the green light on an operation they had been planning well before Trump took office. You're desperately looking for anything you can to make it look as if Trump erred. The operation was a success. -
In Germany, Muslim immigrants were responsible for 69,000 crimes in 2016.

Who is she??? Georgia's Sally Yates fired by Trump as acting AG

I hire people all the time. I recently added two managers to our organization; one man and one woman. Each manager position has the same requirements and responsibilities. The offers I made them were identical and were also at the bottom of the pay band for the positions. The man made a counteroffer that we accepted. The woman accepted the initial offer. The man is making more money than the woman because he was willing to negotiate whereas the woman was not. Is it my fault the woman is making less than the man? No. Had she rejected the offer and countered with something, she would mo -

Atlanta-based CDC boss to resign from his position

My father-in-law has been in the hospital since November paralyzed from the chest down and unable to breath without a ventilator because he was bit by a mosquito and infected with West Nile Virus. He was the fourth registered case in Georgia for 2016. The chance of him making even a partial recovery is slim to none. What I have found very interesting about WNV is Georgia is one of the states with the fewest reported cases each year. North and South Dakota, Colorado, and then Texas have the highest reported cases (each with more than 100 cases a year). Most people who get this disease n -

Should the government make it painful for the people of this country by forcing them to pay higher taxes as a punishment? Hell no. What alternative sources are readily available now for people to travel back and forth to work; across the country; and to other countries? What alternative resources are readily available for people to light, heat, and cool their homes? What alternative resources are there for businesses to manufacture their goods and ship them to market. Your argument is very, very weak.
-
The key words here are carbon taxes. Climate change is nothing more than a political ploy to impose a carbon tax for government to collect more taxes from the people. The climate has always changed going back to before the Ice Age. In the 1970's scientist claimed the Earth was cooling and we would be entering a new Ice Age. Then that changed to Global Warming. This is nothing more than a bunch of BS.

FDA approves large-scale trials of ecstasy to treat PTSD
Foxmeister replied to Brian's topic in RECENT TOPICS
Then you have other mental issues besides PTSD that you should seek help for. PTSD causes people to become depressed and withdrawn. It does not cause people to become violent. PTSD is the result of being a victim or witness to something horrific. It is not uncommon for people who were victims of sexual assault, violent crimes, horrific accidents, etc to have PTSD. In fact, recent studies show that 25 million people in this country suffer from PTSD; far more than the number of military veterans who had served in Korea, Vietnam, Iraq, and Afghanistan. There are medications that help wit -
