It didn't look like she stumbled to me. It looked like she collapsed.

I've been a supporter of allowing people to use marijuana for medical purpose, but under strict guidelines, The voters in Michigan approved medical marijuana, but the ballot question was poorly written. This resulted in just about anyone who wanted to claim a medical condition whether they actually had it or not to receive a card allowing them to purchase it. If marijuana for medical use was to be approved here, the law should be written allowing only the doctor treating you for your medical condition to write the prescription allowing you to purchase and take it.

Has Arthur Blank and the Mercedes Stadium jinxed the Falcons?
Foxmeister replied to surepip's topic in RECENT TOPICS
I listened to the interview he gave in his attempt to justify it. Pathetic. Does he really believe he is helping anybody by refusing to stand during the National Anthem? My theory is he's now a third string quarterback who believed the 49'ers were going to cut him from the team and he pulls this stunt to prevent from being cut. Now if the 49'ers cut him, it will look like they were cutting him because he's black and is "standing up" to "oppression." -

I agree with you on this. If a professional team in any sport wants a new stadium, they should pay the entire cost themselves. -

Face it, the Falcons suck and pretty much always has. -
That was a racist comment.

Everyone who used the railroad to travel east and west benefited from it. People in the west prospered because of the railroad as mercantile businesses opened and they could receive inventory much faster by having it shipped by rail rather than by ship or wagon trains. Cattlemen in the west prospered because they could transport cattle to Chicago by rail. All these businesses also benefited others in many different ways. Families were able to purchase staples they could not grow themselves, clothing could be purchased or material to make their own clothing. I could go on and on how the ra

There are some things pubby is neglecting about that period of history - immigration. The United States had open immigration until the late 19th century. At the time of the expansion of people into the western territories of the country, the country was encouraging people from the east to go west to settle and develop the land. It was getting quite crowded in the cities in the east with many immigrants living in the streets because they had no jobs. The railroads connecting the east to the west were a necessity for interstate commerce. The western territories did not have manufacturing of

There are some people here on the left that seriously should take some economic classes as they haven't a clue how the economy is market driven. Some of the left here seem to think that if a person doesn't want to work for something, they should be given it. I run a business and I have had employees who didn't want to work. Instead they felt they deserved a paycheck for doing nothing. I showed those people the door. Most of the people I have working for me have nothing more than a high school education. They make anywhere between $8 - $11 an hour depending on the position. The averag

Oh please. Obama tried to reach across the aisle? He and the Democrats intentionally shut out the Republicans on health care reform. Why don't you provide us some examples how Obama attempted to reach out?
-
Hmmm, the only thing Obama accomplished with a Democratic majority was the passing of ObamaCare and we have seen how that has turned into a cluster truck. Pubby seems to think that every time a Democrat is in the White House and has a Republican majority congress, that the president can't get anything accomplished. He seems to forget that Cinton had a Republican majority Congress and the economic times were a lot better then they are now. Reagan knew how to negotiate. Dick Morris who served as Clinton's advisor for a time, stated Clinton wanted to see polls on how the people felt about

I do hope he finds his dog and then builds a pen for him so he doesn't run off again. I have some neighbors who let their dogs run around in the neighborhood. Some of them are not very friendly. I can't understand why people allow their dogs to run around like that. -
Your news story is outdated. Since that article was written, Walmart has increased its starting hourly rate for employees to $10. That went into effect this last January for those hired before January 1 this year. New hires start at $9 and then are bumped up to $10 after successfully completing their training. http://news.walmart.com/news-archive/2016/01/20/more-than-one-million-walmart-associates-receive-pay-increase-in-2016

Is your yard fenced in? If not, perhaps you should consider it. -
You seem to neglect the fact the GI BIll is a benefit received as part of the compensation package a military member receives for their military service. It's really not much different than a corporation giving their employees educational benefits such as tuition assistance as part of their compensation package. In each example, the employer provided it as a means to recruit good employees. In each of these the recipient has had to work to receive the benefits. This is much different than giving someone free tuition in exchange for having to do absolutely nothing in return to earn it.

The cost of college tuition over the past 20 years has increased higher than the rate of inflation. There are more attending college today than 20 years ago as well. When there is more demand for a product, prices increase. It stands to reason this is why college tuition has increased as well. College students are finding it very easy to obtain federal student loans to attend college as well, which also contributes to increased enrollments. The college graduating class of 2014 graduated with an average student loan debt of $30,000 per graduate.
