  1. The story you shared wasn't about a man being "slaughtered" 6 years ago. It was about a woman alleging a police officer physically assaulted her because "he didn't liker her tone" and she lost her unborn baby as a result. The story was definitely written with a slant against police officers. GD is pointing that out as the site also has a tab to click on with fake news stories about Trump. In other words, the site is pretty biased and appeals to people like you.
  2. Sounds to me as if you're blaming the law rather than recognizing she just waited too long to file her suit. If you want to blame the law go right ahead, but you're wrongly placing the blame. What the hell was her attorney thinking when he or she had to have known she was past the statute of limitations?
  3. She filed her lawsuit with the Federal District Court in February 2015, four years after the incident took place. The statute of limitations for such a case in Georgia is only two years. The defendants filed a motion to dismiss which was granted by the federal judge. https://ecf.gamd.uscourts.gov/cgi-bin/show_public_doc?2015-00034-12-1-cv You can't blame the officers or the court for the dismissal.
  4. Origins of words and phrases have always interested me. "Flash in the pan" goes back to when flintlocks were used. The pan held powder the flint would strike and set the flash that would ignite the powder charge through a vent. If the vent was plugged up, the flintlock would not fire and there would just be a flash in the pan.
  5. We have to be realistic and so does each and every school board across this country; the vast majority of students graduating from high school with a lack of skills to get a decent job. Those students who have no intention to go onto college have been set up for failure by their school districts. It's been long overdue to bring vocational and technical training back to public schools to set these young people up for better opportunities for success.
  6. I went to high school in Augusta. We had vocational training available for students. Augusta Tech had a program allowing high school students to attend full time during their junior and senior year of high school. This allowed students to graduate with their high school diploma and an associate's degree at the same time.
  7. With a tazer on a dog, you will pretty much have one shot at hitting it. If the dog is attacking you and you miss, then you're going to be hurting.
  8. A lot of police departments no longer equip their officers with a chemical spray. They have opted instead to go with the tazer. The reason is because the tazer is more effective. When using mace or pepper spray, you preferably want the wind to your back. This prevents the officer getting any on his face or in his eyes incapacitating him.
  9. I watched the video and like GD was unable to determine if the dog was acting as if it was going to attack the officer or not. Because of that I am not going to fault him for shooting the dog. I will stand by with what I had said earlier; the dog's owner should have been responsible and not allowed the dog to roam around the neighborhood. If the dog had attacked and harmed a child, you all would be putting the blame on the dog's owner.
  10. The ultimate responsibility then belongs to the owner of the dog that was shot. Had the owner been responsible and took measures that prevented the dog from running loose, the dog would be alive today.
  11. There are a lot of people out there who are killers and they're not police officers. Just recently we saw on the news how a NYPD police officer was murdered while she sat in her patrol car. There are bad people in every single profession.
  12. I can't stand pet owners who are not responsible enough to keep their dogs under control so they don't run around loose in neighborhoods. I've seen many dogs laying on the side of the road dead because their owners could not be responsible enough to keep control of them. Had they done so, those dogs would not have been killed. Many on the left want to condemn gun owners for not being responsible enough to keep their dogs from children. Why not hold dog owners to the same responsibility when it comes to keeping controlling their dogs? How many times have we all seen in the news where so
  13. I'm not surprised with your response at all. In fact it's typical of you. People who own dogs should be responsible enough to properly care for them. That includes not letting them run around loose around the neighborhood. I have own dogs all my life and I still have one. I don't let my dog run around lose in the neighborhood. I care enough about them to walk them on a leash. If I let them loose in my yard, it's within my fence and they can't get out to roam the neighborhood. In other words, I control my dogs. That dog in the video would not have been shot had its owner had taken r
  14. It's very important for dog owners to keep control of their dogs; not just for their safety, but the safety of others. I hate seeing dogs running around the streets loose all the time.
  15. Interesting news story. I've seen other news reports where squatters moved into vacant homes and it took legal action to get them out. I saw one out of Florida where a man in the Army Reserves was deployed. When he came back, he found some family had moved into his house and refused to leave. He had to go through the courts to get them out, which took him a few months. Once out, the owner found his house had pretty much been destroyed on the inside.
  16. Better learn it because they're here. You might want to learn Chinese because they're coming.
  17. On the contrary. I changed it because anyone who knows Spanish, knows Zorro means Fox.
  18. According to Stradial, you and he used to pm each other quite often.
  19. It was something he said quite often in response to another poster and you always took delight in it.
  20. Illiterate means to have little or no education; unable to read or write. With that said, no I am not illiterate.
  21. Would you prefer a society where capitalism no longer exists?
  22. It's not my problem when the drop down calendar only goes back to 2011 on the advance search software. I recall one time when Stradial posted something that COWA liked a lot and thought was so funny. He posted this comment several times. Do you recall what it was?
