  1. Great idea, I could send them to the one neighbor that the rest of us would like to see gone. She is the one that allows a band to practice in her garage until 10 pm every night, she has a 2 year old child, and she RENTS rooms out in her house to total strangers! CRAZY!!!! With my luck she would rent him a room. Wish there was some sort of ordinance against this. No background checks or anything and she HAS a 2 year old. . . .
  2. We have been there and it is absolutely gorgeous! You will love it. Take plenty of money though - - as I remember, the breakfast buffet was something like 45.00/person. Find a little local market and get some of the hot, fresh made french bread. It is wonderful. We were told that Tahiti is what Hawaii used to be before all of the commercialism. I would go back there in a heartbeat. Where are you staying? Are you flying into Papette?
  3. Check the trash cans, kids seem to like to throw things in there.
  4. I LOVE leather britches (also called shuck beans by some of the old timers). My grandma used to fix some just for me.
  5. Do you blanch your squash first? I read somewhere on one of the gardening sites that you needed to due to some enzyme in squash.
  6. This is how we do squash - Wash and slice just like you would if you were going to eat them fresh from the garden. After doing this you need to blanch them. I put them in a large pot and bring them to a boil and let them boil for about 3 minutes. Remove from heat and cool quickly with ice water or you can lay them on a shallow pan to cool. Once cool they can be put into freezer bags and put into freezer. Okra - we just take the whole pod and wipe them down with a barely damp rag to get the fuzz off. Do not cut off the ends. Freeze just like that. When ready to use, just take out of
  7. He should also be entitled to the 100% VA disability income which a couple of years ago was approx. 2800.00 per month that is totally tax free. In some cases it is more than that, depending on his rank at the time of disability. This should help them pay rent or a mortgage until they can get one of the homes that they own renovated. Does the wife work? I don't think that I have heard anything on that.
  8. Anyone know where I can find one?
  9. How long ya'll been playing? I've only been playing for less than a month and I am still on level 9. I try to plant some crops so they will be ready in 1/2/3 days so I can rotate? Should I not do that? It is fun but between the REAL garden and farmtown garden, I am worn out! lol
  10. The first time I ever experienced a house fire was when Grayce's house burned next door to me. I can tell you it is truly devastating to see it happen and then the aftermath of it all. I feel very sorry for them.
  11. Got my first speeding ticket after driving for 34 years! It was in downtown Hiram of all places. Doing 38 in a 25 mph - cost me over 150.00 and all because some lady that lives on the road said that her dog ran out in the road and got hit by a speeding car. Popo said they were cracking down on speeders due to her complaints. Had nothing to do with her dog running loose and not being leashed......isn't there still a leash law in Paulding? ? ? ? Boy was I pi$$ed.
  12. Can anyone say "midnight run with Roundup"? j/k
  13. How 'bout . . . Best meat & veggies + best prices + best service = West Metro Meat Market & Produce
  14. Anybody that has a party for whatever reason, be it graduation, engagement, wedding, should not expect trouble. These kids were NOT invited and asked to leave. If they hadn't "just showed up" then there wouldn't have been a problem. I went to many parties when in high school with this number of people and life flight was not called to even one of them. Common sense told that mother that she wanted to have a party for her graduate and not for people to crash it.
  15. You can bet that if it was this mother's child things would be different and she would be the first one wanting to sue the parent keeping her child hid out.
  16. Saying a prayer for you. My son did this when he was 15 and was found 3 days later staying at a girl's house. Her parents KNEW he was a runaway and STILL let him stay at their house with their 14 year old daughter. We tracked him down when he called another friend by using caller ID. We called the sheriffs office to tell them where he was and they picked him up and took him straight to juvenile hall (upon our request). He had a change of attitude after that. And NO, the parents that were letting him stay with them were NOT charged! Still to this day can't figure that out but the SO just
  17. I want to try the Not Your Daughters Jeans - I have heard great things about them and I definitely don't have my daughter's figure.
  18. He quit his job doing IT development so she could travel and promote her book, he probably resents her because she wanted him to quit and stay home. She does treat him like a child, constantly barking out orders to him and yelling at him for not doing things her way. Divorce wouldn't surprise me from what I have seen on the show for the last 4 years.
  19. Love me a good massage......aaahhhhh..... so relaxing
  20. It is actually after noon at this point
  21. You might want to change the date in the thread title as it shows May 4th so people won't be confused. (I get confused easily) lol
  22. You know you are in Paulding Co. when directions are given by the using the deer cooler as a landmark! LOL
  23. I did not know him but . . . what a wonderful tribute. He must have been an awesome man.
  24. Maybe you could check with the Hiram Community Center or the Senior Citizens Center. Let me know when and where this will be. I will donate.
