  1. That is hard to live through, JB. Are youexcited about the change? I'm eating canned soup b/c I've been barfing all day . Good times . THAT sounds so good especially now that it's finally Fall. There are many small joys in life any better than coming home to the wonderful smell of dinner cooking in the crockpot .
  2. They've been pushing the make-believe line of Vinings further out now for years. It's a common joke around there but it's a shame that unsuspecting buyers and biz owners believe the yarn they are told.
  3. I wouldnt ever slam you and I know the answer. It's really crazy what we get all worked up about and claim it's "history" when lots of us have no idea what we are talking or preaching about.
  4. haha I know, me too! I I was tempted to bring it up in the "door to door" Jehovah Witness thread but decided to be good.
  5. Both have to sign. I know you can divorce with only one party but a certain amount of time has to go by and an ad in the legal section of the paper, etc. Not sure other than that though. Thanks for the reminder on that. Yes! She had an attorney friend of mine look over the papers first. He didnt charge her but said it would only be a small fee if he did. It would be worth it though for the time factor and the non-refundable fiiling fee.
  6. Teach me, O Teacher. Green things? But that sounds really disgu....ohhhhhhhhhh! I get it! Christmas? Havent heard or read the 28 threads on it yet but I can bet you it will be on the 25th whether they like it or not.
  7. I helped a friend do it. She was so upset and was dreading the process but it was a lot easier than either of us thought it would be.She went to Office Max and bought a divorce pack(sounds sad and funny ). There are two copies of each page for both people to fill out. I helped her with it but overall it was pretty simple. I assumed the numbers and figures you come up with would really only be an issue if you were at odds over something, otherwise it's very cut and dry. Takes maybe 2 hours. Then, they went to the courthouse, had it notarized and filed it. It cost them a little less than $200
  8. Well crap, JB. I couldnt have gone out with it being a school night anyway. You know, the little prince and princess' have to have Halloween on the best night for THEM. Now, please excuse me while I make next month's "fun time" daily itenerary for the little brats....I mean Darlings. ::::lotsofscarcasmandIhaveNObratsofanykind...bleck::: You laugh but we are plagued with this every single year. People are obsessed with pleasing their children to the point of changing a HOLIDAY to better suit them. Makes me wanna barf.
  9. Me, too. Now a dude can get "sumpin for a dolla" on Powder Springs Rd day or night. I dont get over there as often as I used to but I have noticed the turnover. I'm glad though that the other's seem to be doing well. It's a very pretty stretch on the connector and would be a shame to be another empty or just plain scary place.
  10. Agreed. And it is such a shame b/c that area has so much to offer and a ton of potential. For instance, the shopping center on the corner of Atl Rd where South City Kitchen and Natural Body is, has lots of higher end shops and is a very nice idea. I have some friends who work there in Radius salon, too. But, I'm afraid the crime is running the good businesses out of there. I was hoping since it's sort of on the outskirts of Vinings, it would shore up that area. A new "sheriff" needs to come to town. I'll take my chances though for South City's shrimp and grits.
  11. Welcome home and welcome back, JJ . You are so loved around here. BTW, you may enjoy talking with The Postman here on Pcom. He went through something very similar not very long ago.
  12. I worked in that area for 13 yrs at Bob Steele Salon and saw a lot of changes during that time. One of my closest lifelong friends is a Cobb police and was shot twice(once in the head) on the E/W Connector on a random call. He is now a cop on the Silver Comet trail in that same area and has warned me personally to never go there alone, day or night. The city/county government needs to crack down and keep it the way it SHOULD be.
  13. I love both of these ideas. Or, picking a date on a calendar while blindfolded could work.
  14. I said I wouldnt but I caved. The really shameful part is that I live in Valdosta, minutes from the Fl line. But, I cant stand getting out of bed into a cold room in the morning. I've had it turned down really low so it only comes on a couple times a day. Guess I'm a wimp...
  15. I had HORRIBLE neighbors for 11 yrs in Paulding with barking dogs. We lost DAYS of sleep b/c of them. I'd follow the above advice but know that in Paulding, I got VERY little help. It's been a few yrs, but then we had to go to the Marshalls office after we recorded the barking and they took it from there. Its not a quick process. I hate that some people dont consider other people and how their living affects them. Rude neighbors are the worst. We couldnt get anywhere but miraculously, their gate was left open one night and the barking dog never returned.
  16. no way. Never have and never will. I dont do vaccinations of any kind.
  17. As a yard sale Queen let me say that's a great idea! And, yes, start early.
  18. they make a noise like that when they are warning their babies or are nervous/scared. Male deer make all sorts of noises during the rut-when they mate. Deer are extremely curious and can hardly stand to let something go, whether it's a sound or a new object, without checking it out. But, they are very skiddish about it and make sounds like that.
  19. Care to expound on what parts of what I've said you disagree with and why?
  20. I am so sorry for your loss. Just reading this thread and all the hurt and heartbreak different ones have experienced is really overwhelming. Death is an unexplainable sting, constant shock and ripping away. I really think that your health was indeed affected by what you went through losing your son whether the doctors admit it or not. It has to be torture on every area of your life. I cannot imagine what it's like to lose a child but I do know what loss feels like. Like you said, it doesnt go away and few things soothe it, if any. Only God's grace and unrelenting love and peace that surpa
  21. Dont know if you do or not. Actually, if you're A OK with being id'd to "help with the meth problem", I hope you dont vote. Just sayin'.
  22. But this is how we all lose our privacy. It seems small and even "needed:. But the fact is, they are punishing the wrong people. The drug makers/criminals will continue to make, distribute and sell it except now they'll just kill the truck driver shipping a truck load of it instead of buying it legally. Compromising individual liberty and privacy NEVER looks harmful but it's the small steps and people not noticing it that leads to a socialist system. We are headed that way quickly. For every personal freedom you take away, legislate or mandate for someone else, you in turn are taking your ow
  23. Exactly. It's just like the gun control whackos. Are they gonna restrict hands one day seeing as you can kill someone with those too and it HAS been proven.
