  1. I attract broken dogs, too . I have had them all from paralyzed(had her 15 yrs-10 of them she was paralyzed), blind and deaf from birth,etc... I will say the deaf dog was the hardest by far. Not meaning to discourage you at all. Just hang in there and it will click with her in time. Glad she has a home with people who will love her. Oh! BTW, I have a one eyed Boxer now(born with only one eye). She is a GREAT dog.
  2. I've been a few times always DURING THE DAY and I totally believe that. I have tended bar and I can spot a rough bar by lots of things including what they serve and what they DON'T serve more importantly. Not to get too far from this riveting topic but my first trip to Mias, I had a similar experience. First of all, I like Mias just fine for a drink and some really good wings. I wouldnt go by myself or even another girlfriend but as couples or a group it can be fun and close to home. We were sitting at a bar(not THE bar)facing the (parkay wood)dance floor. I'm a people watcher so I wan
  3. and Im still wondering why a few people have gotten so offended by my saying its a trashy bar that is not safe?
  4. I walked out to the mailbox 3 weeks ago to see yellow stuff all over my car and on the driveway, etc. I'm south of you all by about 4.5 hours. I've had NO voice for 2 days now thanks to the pollen.
  5. Beautiful! I love it. When I saw your other pics last week in another thread, I thought it was already pretty but now it looks like something in a magazine.
  6. Its actually the next sundown so it can be less than 24 hours. Sometimes that is hard to do with funeral homes and cemeteries especially if the death is unexpected. But, most of them try to make it happen. No embalming(Jewish law) cuts down on the time which is legal in Ga, btw.
  7. and when a Pope dies. They glass him in and haul him around for weeks. Yuck. Jews do it WAY better. You have 24 hours to be in a box, pushing up daisies.
  8. Pubby answered back very quickly last wek after I was having trouble logging in and so did LPPT. I'm sure they both get a LOT of pm's and a LOT of silly whining. I wouldnt blame them for ignoring a good bit of them(not that they do).
  9. Ive only seen this once on FB. I think its really odd and wouldnt take a picture of a dead person. Nor do I want to see one.
  10. I dont think you're "allowed" to dislike a trashy bar in this thread, J.
  11. That was the traditional way long before it was "americanized". Orthodox Jews still do it this way.
  12. , Postman. IDK, they dont really bother me. I enjoy some Biblical debate and can hold my own. I will say I enjoy talking with LDS(Mormons)and have a lot iin common with them spiritually. Personally, I've never had a Mormon be anything other than gracious and respectful. Not so much with Jehovahs Witness'. They are too out there for me and are much pushier but Im still glad to listen and ask my own questions.
  13. Postman, my brother has been a P.A at Kennestone for 25+ years and his wife is a nurse there, too. He worked soley in the ER for many, many years and loved it. The night shift in the ER is still his first love but not as condusive as working in a practice to his family life now that he's on the way to 50 yrs old... . We were born there and have had many family births and deaths there. It's part of our family.I bet she loves working there, too. Thank you for the encouragement as always...
  14. I'd tell them I was giving them something better than that amount. I'd say I'll give you a fishing pole and not just a fish. The Money Makeover would really be a great gift(and they most likely would stop asking you for money whether they use the advice or not).
  15. Great pics and a very happy little family . Thank you for the reminder. You know, when you feel terrible it's hard to keep your eyes on the prize. It's only temporary!
  16. I agree that Dave Ramsey could be great for them. His money philosophy concerning couples and their money is that usually in every relationship there is a free spirirt (spender) and a saver(conservative with money). He is very good at teaching couples how to balance each other out. His bottom line is teaching you how to break bad habits, pay ONLY in cash and get out of debt forever with a realisitic budget. However, I think this is about like trying to get somebody motivated to quit smoking, lose weight, break any unhealthy habit. They have to be sick of themselves and want to chnge. You c
  17. Yes they did. My BP is lower everytime I check it while laying with my feet up on my left side. It has to do with a main artery. Amazing really. My BP is still too high but I'm doing everything I can to keep it stable.
  18. I admire people who TRULY believe in something and are fervent about it. For example, I hardly EVER agree with Rev Al Sharpton but I cannot help but like and even admire the man. I absolutely love his radio show. What I like is that I think he really does believe in the things he stands for. He's not just "talking". I think you are that way as well, Postman . I will say that I definitely agree with you more than I do with Mr Sharpton though . I guess almost all of us are guilty of responding in anger or sarcasm here on occasion but I think it's such a great outlet to converse and ar
  19. You all have no idea how much I've gotten from reading all your posts. It makes it so much more personal when it is real stories from real people(at least I THINK ya'll are real ). Tuscany Trailer and GLW are especially startling to me. This is some SERIOUS stuff and not to be underestimated. Thank goodness for that little foot in the kidney . Would you believe I was back in the ER today??? My BP went way over 100(diastolic)and the dr switched a med(for a different reason)and I was having cold chills like crazy. Not to mention the anxiety of it all. Im back home tonight and hoping an
  20. I didnt make any comment either way on the extravaganza that this thread is about. My comments were about the bar itself and they were pretty broad. I hope they come out of this okay and their business continues. I LOVE small business and love to see them succeed. Maybe I just should have said that it's not my kind of place.
  21. Rofl! ummm, I "judge" that they are a rough and rowdy bar b/c they ARE which is why I DONT go. Thats what most ppl do if they dont like something...they dont keep going back. Ive been there a few times but was smart enough to ONLY go IN BROAD DAYLIGHT and in a group. I couldnt even remember eating whatever I just ate b/c of having to look over my shoulder . Pleeeease. Everybody knows they have a reputation for being rough. They keep a NO FIREARM sign scotch taped to the door , for Heavens sake. Its a common joke in Paulding. Furthermore, I am entitled to my opinion and thats my op
  22. I know ZERO about City of Hiram law but I do know that you have to get a personal liquor serving license in most counties to serve alcohol. It is done at the police dept headquarters in Cobb. My understanding was that it included a background check. Not sure what constitutes not being able to get one b/c of your history though. However, I served and bartended part time for a few years until last year and whether or not employees had gotten their license was up to the owner(whether they enforced it). The standard where I worked was very strict on it mainly b/c we had a lot of government emplo
  23. ah! that almost sounds like undercover insurance fraud people who make sure ppl are truly not "able" to work who claim injury, etc.
  24. ...and to think this can happen at such a nice bar.
