I feel your pain. I've lost track of the times our mailbox has been hit. One time they even took it with them and threw it in my neighbors driveway........ Good thing my mail was in it so my neighbor knew where to return it to. Oh, and the last time the county was cutting the DOT right of way they knocked it off too.
