after reading the mixed reviews about the movie Get Low that was shown at the theatre last night i was not sure what to think. we went to see it at the Dallas theatre and loved it. We think it is a really good movie. I have lived in New Hope since I was a baby, long time ago, and I am PROUD that it was filmed at here. We think it is wonderful that it was shown at the theatre. And since there was a LARGE crowd there I guess other people were happy to be able to see it there also. Thank YOU to the powers that be for letting us enjoy this movie and for free.

thank you thank you for posting this web site. i voted. as an employee i have many reasons why i do not like the current school year. IT IS TOO HOT TO GO TO SCHOOL IN EARLY AUGUST IN GA........period... all of these breaks just require more time to get the kids settled back into their routines. it is frustrating to all of us who have to do this. kids like regular schedules. they perform better and they behave better.....in my humble opinion. i do not want to start a fight on here. just my opinion.

hubby takes plavix, he needs a refill. but we do not have insurance. at one local drugstore this is over $600.00 for 90 pills. we need a MUCH cheaper solution. thanks

my house is brick, we went with white vinyl siding. white goes with everything and never goes out of style. plus no more painting. our front door is stained wood. we think it all matches and is classic. just our opinion. so i guess classic is our style back door is white.

if you want plants to last t he winter, then you need to get perinnals.not many plants will bloom through the winter. pansies will bloom in the wintertime. if you want wisteria i will give you all you can dig up, but i warn you it is like kudzu. i have tried for years to get rid of it. i have put all kinds of chemicals on it. it is everywhere. and when we are dead it will eat my house. i hate it.

when the kids come back to school from all these extra breaks it takes several days for them to settle back into their school routine. school should not start in the beginning of august in ga. it is too HOT. they need to have some outside recess time. you can not do that in this heat. if the extra days can not be found in the calendar, how about a few more minutes added to the day?we did that last year when we used up all of our extra snow days. why wouldn't doing that save more money? they would already be using the buses and the buildings. what would it hurt ?

i was born at a clinic in chamblee, ga. hubby at austell hospital, daughter at kennestone as were both granddaughters, sil in mass.,i think.

i would love love love to have a drive-in to go to. the old one was so much fun. how about some concerts in town at the water fountains. they could close the street. shops could stay open late. vendors could sell food. like they do on the marietta square. marietta gets a lot of money from having things go on in the square. dallas is dried up after closing time. we need an ice cream parlor or sweets and coffee. it would be great to have some place like that to go to after a play at the theatre. it would encourage much more foot traffic in town. i love sal's, but we need more to do.

i agree with everyone about needing more things to do downtown after dark. i love to go to the theater. but afterwards everyone rushes to their cars to leave. it would be so nice to be able to get something to drink, hot tea, hot choc., coffee, soft drinks. maybe a dessert. any reason to stay in town and continue to enjoy the evening. why can we not close the street and have concerts at the new park. the concerts in marietta are great and have wonderful crowds. we can do this if we try.

how did you manage to kill yours? i have been trying for years and years to kill mine. it is everywhere. it ate the tree it was growing on a long time ago. we cut down the tree. we have sprayed. we have cut back year after year. it is in the yellow bell bushes it is growing in the yard in the fig tree. everywhere that it touches the ground. it would grow in the road if we didn't have so much traffic. i love it also, but i love it less with each passing year. i am getting to old to do battle with this vine. when we are dead and gone it will eat my house.

my husband also uses a cpap. he had the study done at austell. he has copd. he would be in terrible trouble without this machine. we take it on vacations. it is not good for your heart if you really need this and do not use it. during his study several years ago he stopped breathing many many times during the night.

how about some concerts on the square or at the new fountain park. i love to go to the concerts on the square in marietta. they are a great success. the stores stay open on the square. everyone brings food or buys from the restaurants there. they have tons of people come. they close some of the streets for tables that they set up and sell for the events.

just wanted to reply to this message. if you do not like the way things look on bone circle then maybe you should not drive this road. we who live in this neighborhood, and it is a neighborhood will not miss the traffic. this was a great place to live until everyone decided they should speed through here using this road for a short-cut and a trash dump. before everyone gets mad at this post i will say use old cartersville road, maybe the scenery will not be so offensive to you.

i always take my tree down before new year's day. my granny said it was bad luck to leave it up until new year's day. gotta do like she said even though she has been gone many years. the tree is nekked and ready to go back to storage. most all other decorations are already put up. need to go buy more plastic storage tubs. waiting for a warmer day.
