  1. My brother is 30. To the outsider he looks like a normal 30 year old dude......however, 5 years ago he was completely paralized and is still recovering from the spine trauma. He doesn't park in handicap spots because he gets harassed. (He also collects SSI since he can't work and has caught flack about that.) I work with the handicap daily. Many of them don't look handicap and don't want others to look at them like they are. Some of them try their hardest to seem "normal".... I always get sucked into these threads.....which are some of the most judgemental on pcom.....
  2. Rule of thumb: If they don't close on Christmas, they probably don't close on Easter (or whatever other holiday it may be).
  3. I guess I don't get the whole issue. If someone parks in a parking spot not designated for them, how does that impact ME? I'm still going to drive to the end of the row and park. I just don't understand pcom's obcession with other people's parking habits.....which was compounded in this thread with the idea that we then flatten the tires of the person who parked in a parking space that we wouldn't have parked in anyway. What happens if all of the parking spaces fill up with legitimately handicap people? Sometimes life is a bitch.....much like the karma, to which GD ref
  4. It's not karma if someone maliciously harms another's property. Karma is dished out by the Universe, not by someone who sticks their noses in issues that don't concern them.
  5. I would most defianately recommend NOT touching someone elses car or flattening their tires. If someone did that to me, no matter if I parked illegally or not (which I don't, btw), I would make sure THAT person received concequences for their actions. NEVER, UNDER ANY NON-EMERGENCY CIRCUMSTANCES, PUT YOUR HANDS ON SOMEONE ELSE'S PROPERTY.
  6. I want a Prius SOOOO badly.....however, MY Corolla is {this} close to being paid off and I refuse to start over Besides, at 30mpg, she doesn't do me wrong.
  7. Last year was my first experience with public Easter egg hunts. I've since decide that my backyard was a better place to egg hunt and the pictures are better
  8. I stocked up on B&J's when I was at Wally World yesterday. I anticipated wanting ice cream and not wanting to leave the house. My calendar told me this was going to happen
  9. I'm ditching mine at the beginning of summer......or at the end....becuase as I typed this I realized that I have the summer off and that might be too much quiet.
  10. Spic & Span (commerce member) cleaned for me the other week......and she did a very good job. I'll be calling her to come back soon.
  11. I thought it was more John Anderson than LeAnn Rimes. (Only called it her version to meet the decade requirement)
  12. Should have been gone long before some of the others.
  13. Also, Scotty was more Howdie Doodie and less Alfred E Neuman tonight.
  14. My kid likes to get bossy every once in a while and it usually results in the "who's in charge?" conversation..... It BLOWS my mind when I hear parents ASK their kids to do things......f-that, TELL those kids what they're going to be doing.
  15. Haley is to lounges as Paul is to cruises......her face is boring and expressionless when she sings. Stephano is gone.
  16. And the girls at the beginning did a great job of reminding us why they were voted off (except Pia).
  17. I liked Scotty and James best. I expect them to be in the top 3. Jacob did nothing for me. The emotion was touching, but I'm over him. Casey.....screachy screamy as usual.
  18. I got a blu-ray player that streams netflix....it's quite nice. I'm leaning towards getting a Dell Inspiron Zino HD to connect to the TV so I can hulu and watch network sites....
  19. Netflix. I love it. But wouldn't pay much more than I'm currently paying for it.
  20. Society doesn't tell me what to eat. My wallet, my growling tummy, and my hankerings tell me what to eat. And I don't care what advertising tells my child. *I* determine what goes in her body, because I am her parent and that is my job.
  21. It is MY choice, not my child's or McD's, where and what we eat. If we eat it every day and we both weigh a million pounds, I have no one to blame but myself.
