  1. I got a frame at IKEA for $59 and then a mattress/boxspring at Sams (Serta) for $98/each. Right around $250 for the whole set up.
  2. A pogo stick! I can still remember my dad trying to show us how it worked and busting his ass.
  3. Severe depression? Wouldn't a doctor have to make that diagosis and monitor her for insurance terms? Shouldn't a doctor be the one to make that decision on whether she was 'better' ? I don't doubt drs can be dooped, but surely the insurance agent isn't qualified to decide if she's still severely depressed or not.
  4. Today I was impressed with myself when I grabbed exactly enough forms for what I needed at work and didn't have to go back to the front office to get more....til I realized/remembered that I counted them out when I took them.
  5. IS this the 'Elf on a Shelf' thing?
  6. I heard he saw Joe Cox throw a completion and keeled over dead. Poor doggie.
  7. I opened this thread as I shoved a soggy oreo into my mouth.....and I almost gagged on it. I thought this was gonna be a vent thread
  8. Just okay? I want GREAT flan oooh...anywhere closer? I have to be in Villa Rica with it Wednesday night.
  9. I did EVERYTHING right....I watched Good Eats with Alton Brown and watched him make a flan.......I followed the directions on the recipe.....I didn't over cook it.....I tempered the custard just right.....yet, after 3 different attempts, I failed miserably! Where can I buy a good flan for 15-ish people? I need it Wednesday night TIA
  10. I've never waitressed. I've always gotten jobs that paid hourly and didn't rely on the generosity of others for my income....much like my current job The above situation would be the exception, not the rule.....I was pointing out that sometimes you got what you got and adding 15% on top of that adds up. Starbucks does....and it's ALWAYS full! Blows my mind every time.
  11. Yet, they still put those "tip" jars next to the register
  12. dang, I looked all over her profile and couldn't figure it out. :duh:
  13. what the hell is this topic about NC?
  14. Wouldn't it be crazy if I went someplace and ordered PB&J, got a to-go box so I could eat it at home, then didn't leave a tip?
  15. So nobody is going to admit to being a bad tipper? And someone shouldn't go out to eat if they can't tip at least 15%? This is the crappiest concept I've ever heard. If my bill is $18.25 and all I have is a $20, then that's what I leave. Some weeks are tighter than others, so I shouldn't go out to eat? This logic if flawed.
  16. This past summer, I insulted a server while in Southeast Asia. A savvy patron explained to me that tips aren't a part of their culture. We were able to get things cleared up (with apologies and explinations of cultural differences). Perhaps this is part of the reason? As far as the tipping.....I'm okay with tipping servers, because they don't make much otherwise......but I'll be damned if I contribute to the "tip" jars at places where I KNOW they are pulling in a decent (for the type of work) pay....Coldstone and Starbucks come to mind.
  17. pieces of halloween candy left to eat?
