Yesterday there was a ceremony at Wellstar Cobb Hospital where photos of the staff's recently arrived children and a few expectant moms were placed on the halls of the L&D floor in the Women's Center. Pics had been taken by a local photographer who donated her time and talent. Here's my granddaughter and her picture. She didn't take kindly to meeting Dr. WellBee, Wellstar's mascot. I guess he would scare most 8 mos olds: The crowd was a bit much too: But she was back to normal soon after:

News Sites Will Charge Access Within One Year
AustinPlantation replied to NewsJunky's topic in RECENT TOPICS
The AJC no longer provides 7-days of articles from it's paper for free --- not even all of it's articles from today's paper. They're in the paid archives. Even The Rome News-Tribune/Cedartown Standard/Rockmart Journal syndicate charges for archived articles through a news service. -

GA Tech Comes to help Paulding
AustinPlantation replied to AustinPlantation's topic in RECENT TOPICS
I have to ask --- what is the current status of Planning for Paulding? I attended the initial public meetings, but haven't heard much since. I found a STRATEGIC PLAN from 2004 and a Paulding County Comprehensive Transportation Plan from 2006. -
Pre-Diabetes, Diabetes, Insulin resistant....?
AustinPlantation replied to gtfamily's topic in RECENT TOPICS
If you have pre-diabetes or diabetes, attend a Diabetes Education class at Wellstar Cobb Hospital. My wife did, we went together as a copupe, it was covered by our insurance, and all of her levels are now near-perfect. See http://wellstar.org/ws_content/ws_diabetes...&menu_id=90 -

To paraphrase, because the article sin't avaialble on-line: For $99,000, the Georgia Tech Enterprise Innovation Institute will assist Paulding County as it creates an economic development program. They will also help develop a program for the cities of Hiram and Dallas as well as the Paulding Chamber of Commerce. The Paulding Commision approved the $99,000 expenditure last week. A leadership team will be formed with reps from the offices of David Austin, Boyd Austin, Carmen Rollins and the Chamber, the Airport Authority and the oounty Industrial B

Got this honestech VHS to DVD software at BJs that you hook up to a PC. Worked swell. Was on sale then, but it listed for $49.95. You have to hook up a VCR to it, so I loaded it on a laptop that I carried to my VCR. There's a new version that handles HD. Sure you can find it elsewhere too. Check out http://www.honestech.com/main/index.asp

They will just mow it themselves With GDOT sidelined, Paulding residents get out their tractors. Date: July 30, 2009 Publication: Atlanta Journal-Constitution Calling all bushhoggers. The cash-strapped state Department of Transportation may have had to curtail mowing this summer, but that only mobilized a new political action group in Paulding County. Call them Bushhog Vigilantes. Organized by Griffin White, some 10 tractors began mowing around U.S. 278 on Wednesday, trimming the county's main thoroughfare because, frankly, it was time for a trim. White dubbed it a "C

Just to make a slight correction. A new subdivision of 176 quarter-acre homes at Nebo & Dallas Nebo roads was approved by planning and zoning in November 2007 and tabled by the BoC. As far as i know, it's not come up for a revote in that time and , hopefully, never will. So, if you meant C/Y 2008 & 2009, you are correct, but if you meant 24 months, you aren't.

Court to decide if riding lawn mower is a “motor vehicle”
AustinPlantation replied to MillCreek's topic in RECENT TOPICS
I just saw one guy leave one property and drive along Nebo Road to another on a riding lawn mower *** on the wrong side of the road*** against traffic, so maybe I'd change my opinion. -
We have one cat who throws up on every trip. We got a sedative from the vet and was told to use 1/4 tablet but could increase it to 1/2 if the need arose. The need arose one trip when he still wouldn't calm down and we gave him another quarter. This eventually put him into a stupor, requiring us to find a vet along I-81 as we entered PA. We found a menonite vet along the interstate who told us to let him sleep it off and that he has others who stop there for the same reason. He recommends that we not take cats on trips unless ablsolutely necessary. That cat aso can't take watch

I was somewhat confused and received clarification: The fines were NOT for not having a business license...it was for NOT HAVING A GA TAXPAYER ID and the fines were for the sales tax.
