  1. I always wonder about those people on Ripley's Believe It or Not. Are they just sitting around the table one night and decide, "Hey! I wonder if I could hammer a nail up my nostril for fun!" or "I wonder if I can have a truck drive over me and live?" I just wonder how they decide to do these things the first time around.
  2. Dang! Y'all really need to fix that. It is like the switch to turn on and off signatures, so it shouldn't be that hard. Come on! Get it together. You can do it! I know you can. You are the all powerful wizard of Oz. Or, at least, you are behind the curtain.
  3. But can you turn just ONE off without having to start over from scratch? That annoys the crap out of me!
  4. How can you turn off a forum you have turned on without having to sign completely off and then login again to all these forums individually that you have to turn on? Pubby, can't you just make a list of forums to turn on and off and you just check the box and move on instead of the individual password for each of them? Just the main topics that use the password ON, not the other ones even. Or you could make it where it only lets you choose the forums for which your subscription is approved. It would avoid all those little passwords everyone keeps forgetting.
  5. I have them too! It is all the veggies from our garden. Too many to put in the refrigerator, and too fast to freeze or can quickly enough. I am going to try some of these. I have tried a few things, but they keep coming back. I guess they will as long as I have all these veggies sitting around.
  6. Huh. Go me thinking. Time to change mine. I just liked the poster. It'll be different in a bit.
  7. Wow! We all said the same thing.
  8. Tell them to bring a pillow and sleeping bags or blankets. Shouldn't be a problem.
  9. I remember that. Ross and something show. Can't remember the other DJs name. I think it was Wilson, but not sure. They had been offered a big job in another city and wanted out of their contract. The radio station wouldn't let them out of the contract, so they did this to get fired. Very tacky!
  10. I think Williams may have killed several of these children. I don't think he killed them all. It just made it easier to blame him for all of them instead of keeping the files open. To me, that means some murderers went free.
  11. 10yo? They are going to live with the demon they created. That is assuming the child had no disorders which could have led to the meltdown, but even with a disorder, you have to stand your ground and teach them the rules so they can live in the real world. I know someone with an autistic child who provides no structure or discipline of any sort. The child will get naked in public and scream and hit her. He is getting older. I see major problems with the law in the future because she isn't teaching him better. And that is just one of her children.
  12. Chalk it up to lesson learned. Apparently, this is a pattern of behavior because her children know how she is. They need the help, so give to them, but never more than you can afford. She will whine, but she will let you back around the kids because she isn't paying for anything. Never loan her anything. If you give it, it is a gift. Don't give anything you wouldn't want to make a gift. She is a user. Users will use you as long as they can. She has probably burned a lot of bridges already.
  13. I love that Burger King is "retraining" the manager and issuing an apology.
  14. GEEZ! I have had to pay out for other articles, but they were usually from professional journals. And nowhere near that much.
  15. It was a newspaper in Macon. I used my credit card on it. I needed a few more articles, but I wasn't paying for anymore of them. $7 for 3 articles from about 3 years ago.
  16. I've ran into being charged for archived stories recently. I paid a little for the old stories, but it ticked me off. I just needed the info.
  17. Your children will gladly imitate the things you do that you don't want them to repeat. So, yes, if you became a parent young and you continue to demonstrate bad choices in life, don't be surprised when your little darling needs a stroller for her sweet 16. If you go around screaming and yelling when things aren't going the way you want them, don't be surprised to get a lot of calls from the school regarding your child's disruptive behavior in class. If you run around and throw things when ticked off, don't be surprised when the police knock on your door because your little angel is being ch

  19. Euharlee Covered Bridge. Has the bridge. A old mill. Old shop fronts. And the river.
  20. What she showed her child is that she (the mom) can't control HER behavior, so why should the child? I am all for correcting behavior. I am not opposed to popping a behind when needed. It needs to be done when they are younger because starting with a 10 or 12yo and you are going to have major problems with behavior. Not beating a child. Not traumatizing a child. But correction. I have left buggies full of groceries in the store when my children acted up. When they wanted a treat later, I would remind them that I was unable to buy the treats due to their behavior in public. I
  21. The animal shelter is a good volunteer place. Public libraries too. There are some shelters around. You could collect donations for them.
  22. Karaoke? I don't know where, but it might be fun to do. Or go play on a playground somewhere. Maybe just go walking by a lake. All else fails, watch an old movie with popcorn. Spread a blanket on the floor and have the family watch the movie together at an indoor picnic. Take a break. I'm going through the same thing. It's okay to take a breather every now and then.
