  1. It is Chinese. I am attempting to get it translated for you. That may take a few hours before they can get to it and it depends on if the picture is clear enough.
  2. There was some discussion in the Gay Marriage thread that I found interesting. I think it was basically this question. Does religion take it's morals from mankind's actions and laws or does mankind's morals and laws come from religious beliefs? Some good points were made for both sides. After given the matter a little thought, and the word little was chosen deliberately, here are my thoughts. In history, we see that a lot of the behavior that we consider "wrong" or immoral today was at one time or another, not only not wrong or immoral, it was considered the "right" or moral thin
  3. The last time I was there, they not only didn't have pole dancers, they didn't have lap dances, they has table dances and they had a touch and go policy. You touch, you go.
  4. Maybe, it was personal. Had you ever met that particular squirrel before?
  5. I could be wrong, but it is my understanding that marriage in the US has always been something handled the government. In fact, at one point in our early history (US history) it was illegal for a clergyman to preform a marriage. Only government officials could do so. The wife and I were married by a local judge, no religious ceremony involved. This was not due to any reluctance on our part to involve religion, but due to other issues, which are not important here.
  6. I agree about not saving every marriage. If there is abuse, adultery or addiction and no willingness and action to change that behavior, then run.
  7. Stupid or not, attempting suicide was, at one time, against the law Like pubby, I was under the impression it still was. Also like pubby, I am glad to hear that has changed. Back in the early 80's I spent several hours on the phone with my buddy's drunk ex-wife, she was very depressed and kept threatening to do herself harm. She hung up and I called a suicide help line and discussed the conversation with the person there. Long story short, they advised that I could call the police, but there was a chance they would arrest her for attempted suicide. Whether that was true or not at that
  8. I'm just a wacky guy who has weird ideas, such as, if you own it, you can chose what to do with it and who with, as long as it doesn't hurt someone. And refusing to do business with someone doesn't hurt them. Inconvenience, maybe, hurt, no. Would I patronize a business that would refuse to do business with someone because of race? No. Example; I do not patronize Denney's due to their business practices, but, I believe they have a right to run their company however they see fit, without government getting involved. Like I said, I'm just wacky that way, you own it, you decide the be
  9. In my opinion a private business should have the right to choose who they wish to do business with or refuse to do business with. The government has no place in deciding who a private citizen has to do business with. We made a huge mistake when we started allowing the government to tell us who we had to let be our customers and it has only gotten and will only get worse.
  10. Let's all leave our mamas out of any insults. Someone insulted mine in a thread and while Zorro took up for me and my mama, thank you for that, I chose to ignore the insult, thinking that perhaps the poster didn't mean it in print the way it came across. This is just my opinion, we welcome yours. (not really, but the FCC makes us say it)
  11. Normal, not normal, religions have a lot of beliefs that have nothing to do with normal or not normal behavior. That is just part of their beliefs and whether I or you or anyone else agrees or disagrees, those are their beliefs. That is one reason I do not belong to an organized religion, but it is not their job to change for me.
  12. I hope you are right. But I think GD is also right, they will use tax exempt to force them. Just my opinion, why would you want a religion to marry you are that doesn't accept you as a married couple? While I disagree with a lot of religions...let's just say stuff that I personally don't think God concerns him/her/it self about, I still believe strongly in the right for those religions to have those beliefs without the government messing with them. One last note, I think that when it gets to the government telling the churches to marry, whoever, it will be 20-30 years from now. But
  13. I read where you could get money for housing aliens. What?? Ohhhh, sorry, wrong aliens. Those space aliens are already here. Ever take a cab in NY? Watch reality TV? Listen to our elected leaders? Read posts on pcom?
  14. "Support airport face book page is crying fowl" Should we merge this thread with the chicken thread? Tell the truth....you went back and look at the thread title, didn't ya?
  15. Here is something I wonder if people know, well, I know those that served in the Marines know, we fought a war against the Muslims a little over 200 yrs ago. That is where the "shores of Tripoli" in the Marine hymn comes from.
  16. Well, that sucks. I guess history will record that we just gave the country away. At least the Indians put up a fight.
  17. Who says I can't judge whether someone is a scumbag or not?If you like womanizing, lying, cheating lowlifes, that is up to you. Personally, they turn my stomach. Edited to add: But if you disagree, that doesn't make you a bad person and I didn't mean to imply that it does. We just disagree.
  18. Walls, smhalls, automated machine guns would be cheaper and more effective. I wonder how many Cubans are going to stay here illegally now that they can come here? The ship is sinking.
  19. I used to use a picture of the ex, but she found out and retaliated by sticking pins in a doll that looks like me and has a lock of my hair. All I have to say about that is....don't tell me voodo isn't real.
