  1. It is quite simple. You try and find out how you can help that company solve a problem or make the company more money. Sometimes it is not just what you see at first glance. For example, I mentioned that my stuff cost more than 99% of my competitor's stuff. So how can I help save or make you money? Perhaps they spend a lot of man hours dealing with problems caused by my competitor's product. If my product will have 1% or less problems, then how much money in man hours have I saved you? Also, if the public who buys your product has less issues with the part I sell, then how much better i
  2. If I do my job and explain all the positives, in a way that is clear and concise, about my product and what benefits will be reaped by that company buying my product, to the person that is responsible for making the decisions about buying my product, then regardless of whether or not their wife, sister, girlfriend or who or whatever talks them into not buying my product, then I have done my job, at that time, as well as it can be done. As I said, not everyone is going to be on board, no matter what, but it is up to me to try and show them why what I am selling will help them.
  3. I would not think it silly to expect someone who's stated position was, "And believe you me, if there was going to be airliners I would not be a part of this, never ever would I be a part of this.", to resign when something that they said they would not be a part of is happening. I don't want him to resign, I want him to be a man of his word and to me that would mean one of two things. One, not be a part of what you said you would "never ever" be a part of. Two, explain in detail why you have changed your mind and are now a part of something that you said you would "never ever" be a part of
  4. This stuff with the airport has made me think about a few things and it may come as surprise that airplanes and airports are not on the list. I am in sales. I work for my company trying to get the manufactures and distributors who use our products to buy my company's products over my competitor's products. In order to do this, I quite often have to sell them on my product. I think that most of us think of being sold something as a negative, something we don't like and don't want people to do to us. We think of the used car salesman or the insurance salesman (sorry Caped Crusader), or s
  5. That is why we don't have a tree, you have two. (just kidding, it's because I am a bah humbug)
  6. Quote from Calvin Thomson on January 8, 2004. It comes at the 3:20 mark. "Let me stress that the proposed airport would be a business and private sector airport strip and not a commercial one and there will be no airliners here. And believe you me, if there was going to be airliners I would not be a part of this, never ever would I be a part of this. I just don't..I want to keep it private and business." Would I be safe in presuming that Mr. Thomson is planning to resign his position as Chairman of the Paulding Northwest Atlanta Airport Authority since they are now going to be airlin
  7. Never bothered our cats when I was a kid. Although it was a little disconcerting to see the cat with an icicle trailing out of the cat's butt. I doubt we went through one Christmas without at least one cat running around with an icicle hanging out it's rear. BUT, if you say it is bad for the animals, I will go with the better safe than sorry theory.
  8. How much does a translator cost? (just kidding)
  9. Do I understand correctly that all the documents showing the details of the airport deal between Paulding County and this Silver Comet Propeller (of whatever the correct name is) have been released? And that Pubby has posted them in the Honky Tonk?
  10. My wife is for more growth, but she is often disappointed.
  11. Where on Facebook is this? Did he also post the details of deal? Thank you for posting this here.
  12. I don't think I have been silent as such, the fact that you are responding to my post is an example of that. I do appreciate the efforts of those who are trying to get the details of this agreement out to the public, both those who are for the agreement and those who are against the agreement. But as to whether I think this is a bad thing or good thing, I cannot say until I know what the thing is.
  13. I got my permission to move her from 4 or the 6 families that run the county. (it was sort of like a scene from the Godfather, "Since your move here will not conflict with my business interest, I wish you good luck in your move. But stay away from the kids!") It matters because if the county is making a bad business deal that will cost the taxpayers money in bonds or other wise impact the county negatively, then they citizens need to know. Also, the citizens need to know what deals the county is making with anyone, unless I am wrong, WE THE PEOPLE are boss of those we elect. But then I
  14. I was thinking about my wife and what I love about her. She is truly one of the best people I know, just a great human being. Beautiful both inside and out. She is smart, funny, witty, loving, kind, caring, strong, tender, honest, dedicated to those she loves and often to those she doesn't even know. She has integrity and will admit when she is wrong and tries to see the other side of things, even if she doesn't agree with that side. (at least she tries to most of the time) She can be quick to anger at times, but is always even quicker to make up. She is able to laugh at herself and has
  15. Now everyone knows that Santa is from the North Pole. (well the Scandinavian countries are next to Poland sooooo...could he be Polish?)
  16. Like I said, "When someone can explain to me, exactly, what the airport deal is, then I will let you know where I stand.". I appreciate your information, but it still falls short of details, heck it falls short on most generalities. I do not wish to imply that you didn't try, after all, you can't tell what you don't know and that is my point, how can I make an informed decision on this project with so many unanswered questions. But thank you for trying. (that is sincere)
  17. Someone was a grouchy Gus when they wrote this, huh.
  18. Now this kind of stuff does make me excited enough to go after someone. In my day, the worst we did was take home for sale signs and put them in someone's yard. Yeh it was stupid and yeh it was wrong, but we were 13 or 14 and the signs were all from near by, so it wasn't like they couldn't find them. (yes, I am trying to justify my wrong doing from 40 odd years ago)
  19. I'm confused, I said I didn't know where I stood on the airport deal, because I don't know what the deal is. I hear this from one side and I hear that from the other side, but I rarely see anything that is concrete and that I would make my decision when I can make an informed one based on what is happening and not what I think is happening. I am baffled as to why the people leading this county don't just lay out their plan(s) and let everyone see what is expected to be accomplished and what they hope to accomplish. As far as going to jail, they will never bankrupt my family because if I
  20. Well take a tip from me and do not let a non drinker take you around looking for it. They keep saying things like, "But it's a truck, how do you lose a 2,000 lb truck?", "I lost my keys a couple of times, but I always knew about where they were, it's a truck for god's sake!". It gets annoying.
  21. I don't know about the fat man, but Jesus is mexican. I know because I met him last night working in the mexican restaurant in Waycross, GA.
  22. When someone can explain to me, exactly, what the airport deal is, then I will let you know where I stand. It is as simple as that.
