Well, that sure doesn't hurt. (interstates) I would doubt that Gwinnett is any "closer" to Atlanta. It has just been built up so much that you can't tell when you left ATL, went through Dekalb and into Gwinnett, unless you see the signs or know where everything is. Sorta like you used to be able to tell when you left Marietta, got to Smyrna, left Smyrna and reached ATL. Now you can drive from ATL to Cherokee County and never tell you left ATL. But that is progress. (at least that is what they tell me)

What can you expect from a county (Gwinnett) that is still living in the 1970's. Obviously they do not want growth or jobs or industry. They just want to be a little bedroom community living as if they were the only ones around, heads in the sand and yelling about all them new people. Trust me, with this kind of an attitude, Gwinnett will never make it into the big time.

It turns out that while the school system may have records going back to before 1912, they do not have a record of my mother attending school.
