My favorite thing I ever heard about getting a divorce and a lawyer is when my buddy was getting a divorce and had spoken with his (divorced) dad about it. I asked, "What did you dad say?" Answer, "He said get a good lawyer. Get your mother's, he's a good lawyer." -
Nah, it just gets reassigned to another person who starts over or it goes to another collection agency where it starts over. I just started receiving the latest calls last week.
-
Now that I agree with that.

When we were assigned this number 4 years ago, we inherited two ladies who owe a lot of people. Twice a year we receive calls from bill collectors looking for these two ladies. After getting each collection agency to take our number out of the system, we are good for about 6 months until the cycle starts all over again.

I do have two uncles that married two sisters. But then back in those day, the 30' and 40's, there weren't a lot of choices when you lived in county that was sparsely populated and 90% farming. But it worked out for both couples.

I resent that, my daddy is not my uncle...he is only a first cousin.

Well....there are a lot of clowns involved.

I agree with you, you're different.

Like I said in my first post, there should be some way to "grandfather" in the older people who might have these issues. It was kinda funny, I was telling the step-son's girlfriend about what documents she needed, the info about where she was born, when she was born, her father's full name, her mother's maiden name. The girlfriend said (even though I told her she didn't have a birth certificate), "She can get all that from her birth certificate when she gets a copy." Me: "But she doesn't have a one, it doesn't exist." Her: "How can that be? They must have kept it on file in a computer s -

Well we know how you ended up in GA. They were headed to as far south as they could get huh? Ran out of gas before they made FL and stayed. I bet your family was just laughing at the temperatures last week. "Cold? This isn't cold! You want to know what cold is? You should live where we came from. NOW THAT'S COLD." -

The only ticket she ever got was many years ago and she told the cop that it must be it his first day on the job to write an old lady a ticket for such a BS thing. (ok, she didn't say BS) She was ticketed for an illegal left turn, she had taken my dad to the hospital to see his brother who had a stroke and because he couldn't walk that far, she had dropped him off and then parked the car. Because it was winter, she didn't want my dad waiting for her to pick him up while she circled the block, so she cut diagonally across into the parking lot. When she told the cop it must be his 1st day, -

It is amazing how much smarter and better a person she gets as I get older. We will get it resolved, it is just ridiculous for an 80 year old person to have to deal with this. Even someone my age is ok, but jeeze, after they have been around for 3/4 of a century, cut em some slack. (all of em, not just my momma) -

To get a delayed birth certificate, she needs 3 pieces of evidence: Two documents showing the full date of birth and place of birth. The third document must show the father's full name and the full maiden name of the mother and the date of birth or age of the applicant. Here are what is acceptable. While she can get some of these, most will not have the information needed, such as father's and mother's name. Hospital Record - Obtain a statement from the medical records department. (We can try, but until the last 7 years, she hasn't been in a hospital since 1962.) School Record - -
I have tried from an early age, and continue to try, and brainwash my kid. On of the things that I have tried to brainwash him with is; "Son, a man is only as good as his word. If tells you something and then does the opposite, do not trust him!"

I know there has been at least one thread about the new drivers license laws. (maybe more than 1) But here is my, or rather my mother's story. First, my mother will be 80 years old at the end of this month. She is still working part time, she drives from Smyrna to Sandy Springs 3-4 days a week. So far, she is still a good driver. (bad backseat driver, but a good driver) My mother does not have a birth certificate. She was born at home and while there was an official birth certificate, it burned up when the local county courthouse burned down, yearly in her life. She has never in 80 y
