  1. You never told me that about the Ken dolls, Dev! That is just tooooo cute. You will have to email me pix from the party if we are in any of them.
  2. My husband watched the UFC fight last night w/ a friend. It was right at 3 am when he was sitting at the red light at the intersection. He looked in his rearview and saw a car coming really fast, and he also saw cops. His thought was that the guy better slow down before he got stopped, but he didn't realize they were chasing that car. The car flew by him and took a right onto 61 and had a ton of police cars chasing him. J/w if anyone knew what happened because my husband keeps talking about it!
  3. Yes, it was a fun time!!! Gavin loved riding the horse.
  4. Very sorry to hear about the loss of such a young little boy. P&PT for his family, friends, and teachers.
  5. Movie ratings exist for a reason. 2 year olds were not meant to watch this movie...period. If any of you want your children to watch it, that's your choice and I really don't care what your kids do. But I'm just tired of the downplaying of things such as this. Kids are exposed to violence and sex and horrible language sooner and sooner each year, it seems. I don't want to shelter my kids to death, but if you want your child to see some beautiful colors and captivating images, take him/her to the Georgia Aquarium, and you won't have to worry about language or sex or what else might be in the mo
  6. God*amn is said several times in the movie, along w/ other words. I would play it in the room my 22 month old was in, but I wouldn't let him sit and actively watch it. And I would only play it in the same room if I knew where the bad parts were well enough to mute/skip. I don't want my child repeating God*damn, 3itch, $hit, etc., and that's not something I want my kid hearing/watching anyway. She may not understand it now, but she WILL one day...why start desensitizing her to the misuse of God's name and the casual use of profanity?? And not to mention the violence that is in that movie.
  7. Oh, and um...I thought the movie was mediocre. It's a good movie, but it was extremely hyped up. I really see no reason behind people calling it the best movie of all time. I'm an LOTR supporter still. Lol. My husband, however, loved the movie and doesn't understand why I don't share the same feelings. It was okay. Would I watch it again? Probably not. It definitely was not a "magical" or "spiritual" experience, and it was so "meh" that I really don't even remember much about it other than the basic plot.
  8. That is what I'm hoping it is, and I'm still pretty confident that he can hear. My husband has a coworker whose 2 year old still cannot pass, but he hears well. Thanks
  9. Thanks! You didn't miss it, I just didn't announce it. But he was a big one... 8lbs, 14 oz...20 inches.
  10. My son is 2 weeks old and has failed the hearing screening 3 times. Twice in the hospital, and once today at the doctor's office. I wasn't really concerned in the hospital as amniotic fluid can block the ears, as well as vernix and other substances. But it usually resolves before they have an office visit. So with him being 2 weeks old and failing yet again, that has me nervous. He has to see an otorhinolaryngologist now for a more thorough test. I'm just curious as to whether or not anyone's baby has failed and what the outcome was? He jumps at loud noises, but that doesn't necessar
  11. I think I'm changing dentists! LOL!!! That is an awesome deal!
  12. So, even though Vonage is $20/mo, after taxes and fees our bill is $35/mo and has been for the few years we have had it. My husband just called to cancel it, and I was sure they'd try to convince him to keep it, but they offered us $15.70/mo AFTER taxes and fees...same plan. So, for now I said we could keep it. We were canceling it because who really needs a home phone these days if you have an unlimited cell plan?? But I just thought I'd post this for anyone paying their outrageous fees...you may get a good discount by calling!
  13. Who was having the relationship with her (or, alleged relationship)...the man who died or the other man?
  14. I hate to say it, but my first thought when I read the other thread was that the friend sounded a bit fishy. Sure hope it turns out differently...
  15. That's terrible. I just read his story...he has such a positive attitude. It is a shame his family is going through this. Said a prayer for him!
  16. Well, the life part is something I think I heard recently and had to do with more "secret" charges that he was already or was about to be charged with. Interesting. And I agree, he was a total crazy on the show. I can't BELIEVE they gave him the money. What losers to not see through him.
  17. Haha! I didn't read the full article, but I wonder how much time they will both end up serving. I heard Adam was facing life...?
  18. Wow...........not that it's very surprising, but beating his pregnant girlfriend? I wouldn't have expected THAT, but the drugs...sure.
  19. I'm curious to see whether or not the rate goes back to what it used to be...probably not.
  20. He's been asleep for a few hours...letting me get stuff done! I am just waiting for next month. I think the rate is tiered now, from what I understand. I may be wrong about that, but I thought that was how it was explained to me...the more you use, the higher the rate. My husband spent about 4 hours pressure washing the driveway and sidewalk a few days ago. That should be a lovely bill. I told him it would be cheaper to pay someone to do it, but he wouldn't listen to me..... My older boys take baths together, and the baby really does not use much water yet It really
  21. I know the rates recently changed for those who use more than 2,000 or 2,500 gallons (I can't remember what it was exactly). My bill last month was $30...this month was $53. That's quite a jump, and we barely use over whatever the limit is. I saw on our usage that we were just barely over. I'm just curious as to how much everyone's bill jumped. We really do not use a lot of water for our family size, IMO.
  22. So, wait...are you with them now and just had to get a new policy? I spoke with someone from a cleaning/restoration company a little bit ago and think that my problem probably isn't bad enough to make a claim. We will probably just end up removing the carpet, cleaning the concrete underneath, and either cleaning a little spot on the drywall or putting a new sheet of drywall up. There is a small area with mold from where the carpet touched it, but the company didn't seem to think it was a big deal from what I described. They are going to come out and look at it next week. I don't want
