I'm not saying it's good bad right or wrong. I never said I didn't care. but to deny that ratings wasn't a motivator in the reading of something so personal is niave. There is nothing that happens in the entertainment- media business that isn't ratings motivated. It's the business.

So i'm the only one who has seen people use granite instead of granted? Honestly, I would have never brought it up had I not seen so many people do it before. My own brother in law does it. God i'm cheap. I don't splurge on anything. I married the worlds biggest penny pincher and I guess he's rubbed off on me. I do buy name brands of certain things like paper towels and toilet paper. I also buy Papmers even though they're more expensive. oh, and sushi, I eat it often. This is sad. I need to buy my self something nice.

A facebook friend left a status using granite right before I came here to ask this all important question. It had been bothering me for some time. My BIL does it too.

I thought you took things for "granted" not granite. This has become a small pet peeve of mine. I notice some of my facebook friends say granite. When I google, both terms come up? Is it a southern thing?

ya know, it's so weird because I read this topic earlier and had nothing to add. But about 30 minutes ago after picking up my DD from school, i'm driving down old cartersville rd, I glance into my rearview and what do I see? A teenage girl driving, facing her friend in the passenger seat, talking/singing whatever, dancing and smoking a cigarette. She almost hit me 3 times within 30 seconds. WTF?
